Spots to fish and eat your catch?

I haven’t been fishing since I was younger but want to take my child when she’s old enough. I can’t remember where my dad used to take me to fish for our dinner and I can’t ask him because he’s passed away. I’m looking for somewhere close to Southampton . Thanks ! And what kind of fish do you catch there typically?

Native Tree Giveaway 11/2 (Trevose area)

I posted last year and quite a few people came and got some free trees. This year we again have over 700 that need homes. We're getting over 2000 total. My work is in far NE Philadelphia, (very near Trevose Fire Station and Street Rd.). They vary in size from a few inches to several feet. I do not know yet what types will we have. They will come with stakes and plastic tubes.

Let me know if you're interested. They need to be picked up November 2nd. Free, no cost. Just contact me, email our contact person at my work, and show up.

edit: closed for now. all posted responded to via PM with info.

Place to find granite composite sinks?

Am renovating my kitchen and would like to find a nice granite composite sink, but have been underwhelmed by what the big box stores (Home Depot and Lowes) have in stock. Is there anywhere in Central or Lower Bucks or nearby where any of you have been able to find nice granite composite sinks? Thx!

How “unsafe” is Bensalem?

Just for context , I’m thinking of moving to the area (some of y’all might have seen my other post)

When looking at crime maps, it’s look like majority of Bensalem has the worse end of crime rates but when I look up the per capita rates, they are all below the national average.

Who can share some insight?

Specially the area of Bensalem that is circled

What Bucks Countians mean when they say... The Mall

https://preview.redd.it/eu0rt5275hsd1.png?width=2550&format=png&auto=webp&s=c7d5a3296a36370a0b9906264fe5c837b2ecd786

When someone says "I'm going to the mall", most people know right away where they are going. But that 'mall' varies depending on where you live. Being that Bucks County has so many malls within and nearby, I made a map of what mall you are most likely to go to based on location.

This map is entirely based on my observations and opinions. Being from Lower Bucks, I struggled a bit with Upper Bucks, so I used distance to determine the Montgomery/Lehigh Valley boarder. For the most part, I tried to stay true to municipal lines to keep it easy, but for a few I felt the need to split between two malls, and actually between three malls for Northampton Township.

I am well aware that many people don't shop at malls these days, but please just think back to when you did go to the mall. Also, some peoples definition of a mall can vary, so for this I consider a mall to be any enclosed shopping center, not outdoor ones like Peddlers Village or Premium Outlets.

Please give me your feedback on this map. Do you think I got your town right?

Is Southampton/Warminster Central or Lower Bucks?

Last month, I moved from Penndel to Southampton (but right across the street is Warminster). Can I still call myself a Lower Bucks Countian, or am I now a Central Bucks Countian?

Opinions on maybe an unusual rental situation with a pet

Howdy Neighbors!

I am going to be listing my home for rent soon. I have been thinking of offering something maybe a little different, and wondering what my fellow redditors think about it since you're probably more my crowd.

I want to rent my home to a young family to help them out. I'm not looking to make a profit, just cover my expenses, and have a family with children living here who will fill my home with joy. I have been very happy here. I know how hard it is right now - I was lucky to buy my house right before Covid hit. And I think of times when people helped me, so I want to be able to do the same for someone else. (I did do a post back in the spring about it so if you look through my history you will see that - it has been a long process, and I'm just about ready now.)

So here's where it might get different. I have a beautiful dog - really an exceptional dog - that I cannot take with me for the foreseeable future. How undesirable or weird would it be to have my dog stay in the home, and sort of be included in the rental? I had a situation lined up for him, and it fell through unfortunately. I don't want him to go to a rescue where I will not be involved in his care or his life. I am considering boarding him, but he really thrives with a house full of kids and people and love.

Do you think this is something that anyone might be open to? Or is it kind of a pipe dream?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: It’s an interesting mix of feedback! I think in the end, it’s not a good idea for many of the reasons people shared… and more. Thank you all!

Good Mobile Mechanic in Lower Bucks?

Anyone know of a good mobile mechanic that has fair prices? My car is stuck in my driveway due to either a seized caliper piston, parking brake or stuck brake pad for my rear right wheel.

I hurt my back few weeks ago otherwise wouldn’t mind fixing myself. I’m located in Holland.

Thanks!

Foxes in lower Bucks

I have seen foxes here in Lower Bucks for awhile now, about a decade. I hear them at dusk and night. I leave them alone and they can go into the woods near me. My neighbor calls animal control. So which one is the correct thing to do about them, or should something else be done? I know someone who owns a local business who kills them and hunts them. I am not going to write it publically, the owner is very open about how they love to hunt.

I hope they stay away from the roads as a lot get hit by cars.

Also when a vixen screams it is not a bird or girl playing. That is what I thought it was for awhile and then I saw a vixen howl and scream.

Pet sitters in lower Bucks?

Can anyone reccomend excellent pet sitters in lower Bucks? I would want one for anywhere from 2-3 weeks to a month. Thanks.

It is for a cat, meds would need to be given, litter boxes changed, fresh food and water, combing, bring in postal mail, and dirty litter liner bags thrown out with trash. I wouldn't want or need the person to stay overnight.

Hi Neighbors!

I was curious to know what my fellow neighbors of Bucks County do (or not do) for a living? This reddit community seems very sweet. I work in a mental health facility as a Director. What do you guys do? How are you doing today? Hope all is well with you!

Question for Bucks homeowners

Hello, we are recent first time homeowners, so we are still trying to navigate how things work in the home ownership world. We recently received a bill from BCWSA (bucks county water and sewer) for around $50. Is this the average around here for 2 people households? Our water service is with Aqua. I called BCWSA and they said that they get the water meter reading from Aqua and bill us according to our water usage plus a service charge of $26 each month. Thank you in advance for your help!

Unique date suggestions?

Whenever my spouse and I do a date night, it's usually dinner and/or a movie, but I'm looking for more unique date night ideas. Ideally something that is open/available to do on weekday evenings. Can be free or paid. Our sitter is in Jamison, so hoping to stay within a 10 mile radius.

Thank you for helping me to think outside the box!
