Hi everyone,
I’m developing a browser extension that automatically rotates open tabs and can refresh them before switching
I’d love your feedback to see if this is something that could benefit professionals in various fields.
I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts on a few key questions:
Hey Ppl,
I use a mobile phone for inventory at my work. We used to have the option on the mobile browser to choose files instead of using camera. I found a code that works, but have no idea how to enable it. I'm not a computer guy. The code is <input ="file"> Any helps from you fine people who be greatly appreciated. And advance apologizes if the is the wrong sub.
don't have problems with modern websites like palemoon or seamonkey
After 2 weeks of being down, they have brought their sync system back online. Users will need- to re-enter their encryption key.
For anyone who does not have any data on their system already or backed up their previous state, in case of a new install or crash, the data online is gone. While this is bad, this shows why you should never trust sync as your backup, as that is not what it is. I am sure there will be a lot of outcry over that, and understandably. Hopefully, Vivaldi makes proper changes to not let this happen again. While very rare, it is a catastrophic type failure.
Vivaldi is a small player and has avoided taking outside investment to stay to their view on keeping user data private. It seems they may need to invest more in their back-end infrastructure to keep this from happening again.
If you can watch it, you should be able to save it. In theory, it should be possible to save directly from the buffer in a way that Youtube etc can't even detect or block. Piss on them and everyone else that blocks it (like Reddit videos). Can't believe there isn't an edited version of FF etc floating around for this purpose.
Hello everyone,
I’m curious—what are the essential filter lists you guys think should be enabled in uBlock Origin Lite?
Personally, I use the "Complete" filtering mode by default and enable the following:
What are your thoughts?
Found out about this Chromium based browser called Catsxp, which is a Brave fork. Thoughts on it? Privacy, performance, ad-blocking? Yes, it's Chinese.
On a desktop, I use SeaMonkey as my main everyday browser, but some it has issues with some websites. For those I use Brave, Vivaldi and Opera.
I had a reason to check a site with a clean browser that I'd never visited that site with and decided to try Maxthon. It works fine on the desktop. It syncs to other devices so I wanted to try it on a mobile device. Loaded and installed fine, but the Home page is driving me nuts. On other mobile browsers, you can press/hold and drag the shortcuts off to oblivion. That doesn't seem to work in Maxthon.
Has anyone tried this on a mobile?
I'm looking for a browser with following features -
If you know a browser which ticks all of them then let me know. TIA
I just installed the Fennec browser on my phone but I was checking and I can't find a way to import bookmarks from an html file, can anyone tell me how to import bookmarks from an html file?
I switched to fire fox from brave a couple of months ago and was wondering if I made the right choice and was also wondering which one is better
(If any of you know how to harden fire fox lmk)
Had this happen on microsoft edge, installed chrome and the problem is still there. If i open any page and use scroll up/down sometimes half of the page is stuck or missing, and it will fix on its own if keep scrolling, since its happening in 2 browers is this some kind of windows 11 bug maybe?
It seems like it doesn't want to sync properly, says it is synced properly but my bookmarks don't sync right, same with my browsing history.
this just randomly started to happen, it was fine an hour ago but now its not working for some reason
help
Vlad of Kagi announced this today during their zoom webinar
Throughout the years, a pretty common question that people ask about the Epiphany/GNOME Web browser is "why does it use WebKit?". In reality, not only does Epiphany use WebKit, but most GTK apps that embed a browser are also using the same WebKit engine (for example, the Evolution Mail/Calendar Client uses it to display HTML emails).
Originally, Epiphany actually used Gecko as it's engine up until around 2007 when WebKit support was added and in 2008 when WebKit completely replaced Gecko. The main reason (although not the only reason) being that Mozilla was making it harder for projects that aren't Firefox (or based on Firefox) from integrating the Gecko engine into their projects, as components of Firefox itself started becoming a dependency for the Gecko engine.
So, that's basically why Epiphany jumped ship over to WebKit, it was one of the only other modern engines (the only other good option I can think at the time of would have been KHTML) at the time that allowed Epiphany to stay a relatively independent browser. You have to keep in mind that Chromium (and by extension Chrome) was just getting started as a browser at this time. Guess what engine Chromium was using using in 2008/2009? If you guessed Blink, that didn't exist yet. Chromium (and any browser based on it) was also using WebKit and would continue to for several years until Blink (Google's fork of WebKit) would replace it in 2013.
When you consider the time that all this took place in, it actually makes alot of sense why Epiphany uses WebKit nowadays rather than Gecko or Blink. Gecko was the engine it originally used but became too tied in with Firefox. WebKit was added to Epiphany and the planned deprecation of Gecko in Epiphany was announced well before Chromium existed (in a public Beta release) let alone the Blink engine which was years away.
Between Edge and Chrome, which browser do you prefer and why? What makes it your daily driver, and what features make it stand out for you? Please keep the comparison limited to Edge and Chrome.
Going through my computer not too long ago, was trying to download a file acidentally pressed on the wrong download file and instead downloaded something from a ad pop up. It directed me to some weird PDF application of sorts downloaded that and then this new 'Epibrowser' appeared on startup. Windows security says nothing malicious is going on but someone on this subreddit has also come across this and found out the browser is a bit suspicious. Not the first time i've done this to myself. Been a victim of the Yahoo Browser scam too.
Pretty much the question in the title. I've been thinking of trying out Zen because I want a browser that can handle separate profiles like how Arc does in workspaces.
I mean, the site will try to track, fingerprint, ip and all and than show me the report.
Hello, I use opera right now but I plan to make the switch soon, however, I often have to backup art that I dont want to save to my computer first to a google drive, the upload from clipboard feature is really useful in this regard and I dont want to lose it.
Does anyone know any browsers that allow for this as well? Im considering moving to Brave or Firefox but I dont know if thats the same.

I'm thinking of switching from Brave to Edge but then I can't seem to figure out how to move my data.
There isn't any option on Edge to import data from Brave either so I'm kinda stuck here.
Starting fresh on Edge is kind of not possible. I have way to many extensions and bookmarks that I need.
I have problems with accessing X (ex Twitter) with Chrome security extensions. The weird thing is I can access the old Twitter address, but can't access the new X address. But the site is the same.
When I try to access the new X address, I get this warning:
Some privacy related extensions may cause issues on x.com. Please disable them and try again.
For the past year I've had issues with Vivaldi and the browser basically has no support on any platform (discord, reddit, the forums), so there is basically no help I can ever receive using the browser. And with how the sync issues has been occurring for almost half a month in addition to that and the team is hiding their head under the sand about what's going on, I'm about done with the browser and want to move on.
What I'm looking for
Stuff I've tried already:
Specs:
Intel HD Graphics Card (OLD)
Ram: 2gb ram (1.79gb usable)
Storage: Enough for installation...
Processor? HDD
Anythingbelse needed, kindly ask.
[ ] Browsers I've already tried and didn't worked for me:
Opera
Opera GX
Google Chrome (Old version, Lags very much)
Firefox (Lags very much)
I'll be using browser for my Studies purpose (Ad Block and Privacy)
Thank You. :D

Hi everyone,
I love BTT and my Magic Trackpad! I'm mostly using to assign shortcuts to Play/Pause and most importantly rewind/forward by 10 seconds, especially when I'm watching tutorials and working at the same time.
However, I only get this option on Safari browser as can be seen in the screenshots. Other browsers like Edge, Arc etc only give me the option to skip next/back. But I want an option to have 10 seconds backward/forward.
Is this possible for other browsers or is it only available for Safari due to Apple's APIs?
Is there other app or browser extension that can take control of the global media controls with the option to go backward/forward 10 seconds etc.?
