Just how democratic is the EU?
The socialist position, as much as there can be one, seems to be that we should leave the EU because it is undemocratic and pro capitalist.
The latter is certainly true. But is the former? Is it any more/less than our own government?
I'll be visiting for a week and a half next month to catch up with some friends but while they are all at work during the day I will have nothing to do but the typical tourist things--problem is that I have been to London many times before so I have no real need to see the typical touristy things BUT i am wondering about what lefty historical gems the city has for me to check out? Obviously theres Marx's grave (not a fan of the idea of paying to see it though) but what else does london have? what are the other recommendations--any particularly good bookshops i should check out (etc)?
