  1. 1. Radiate Positivity Please refrain from hostile/unnecessary confrontation. Negative opinions and reactions are fine, but please do so in a civil way.

  2. 2. Use the Search bar and Wiki for Commonly Asked Questions We are actively trying to make sure that the content here is valuable and engaging. Commonly asked questions (like tips and tricks, first timer advice, solo/groop discussion, etc.) have all been asked multiple time. Please use the searchbar or Wiki to find answers to these commonly asked questions.

You can also also use the stickied post at the top to ask any of these FAQ-type questions.

  1. 3. No Buying or Selling of Any Kind Because we don't have a system set in place for tracking the validity of users and avoiding scams, we do not allow buying or selling on this subreddit of any kind. For buying/selling tickets, we refer you to /r/bonnarootickets.

  2. 4. Keep it Family Friendly Bonnaroo is a family friendly, all ages festival. We want to not only maintain, but promote that image. As such, this sub is also family friendly and all ages. Please refrain from posting content that negatively impacts this aspect, e.g., illegal activity, profanity, etc.

  3. 5. Post Titles Should Be Descriptive The title of the post should accurately describe the contents of your post. We want to make sure that titles reveal the details of your post. Clickbait titles or vague titles that don't describe content will cause your post to be deleted.

  4. 6. Please Use Stickied Posts We ask that you please use stickied posts if they are available. If there is a stickied thread for artist rumors/confirmations, or FAQs and questions, please join the discussion in the stickied post instead of creating standalone posts.

  5. 7. Please Do Not Make Duplicate Posts To make sure that multiple posts don't cover the same topic, we ask that you review the sub before posting to make sure that your post has not already been made. This particularly relates to things like artist news, roo clues, festival lineup posters, schedule drops, etc.

  6. 8. Please Do Not Make Ride-Sharing Posts We ask that all posts related to ride-sharing be made in /r/roorideshares. Please use that subreddit as a resource for ride-sharing. In addition, the subreddit wiki has a dedicated shuttle section.

  7. 9. Make Sure Your Post is About Bonnaroo Please make sure that your content actually relates to Bonnaroo. Other festival's lineup posters are cool to share, because we can compare their lineups to our own lineup. For non-lineup discussion of other festivals, please use /r/festivals or other festival subreddits. Also random posts that simply don't relate will be removed.

  8. 10. No Self-Promotion/Marketing/Ambassador Posts Please refrain from self-promotion. Linking to your blog is alright within reason if you post about Bonnaroo, but please don't spam the subreddit. Marketing and advertising your company will not be allowed. Lastly, please no ambassador posts. A large percentage of our user base are already ambassadors. We appreciate the program, but if we allowed everyone to post here, it would be flooded.

I know glow sticks aren't allowed, but I'm not sure if it's because of the liquid or the light. Am I allowed to bring a bunch of these in for sharing?

First time bonnaroo

first time coming to bonnaroo im 21 or well 22 by the time i get there but im usually pretty anti social and i decided to say screw it and try to meet new people and figure what better place than a festival , anyway i originally had a small group of my friends coming but they might have to cancel last minute and then it would just be me by myself … which doesnt work to well with the anti social thing😂 so im asking ahead of time if anyone else is coming alone and wants to group up? or a group who could use another battle buddy would be cool too , uhhh ab me ? Like i said 22 by the time it comes around , pretty funny and less antisocial once alcohol hits my system , prior military , im from the south so folks say i gotta accent but i dont hear it ,oh and im a man if that matters? But yeah i think that covers it feel free to ask questions or make fun of me for not having friends in the replies 😂

Also side subject , would renting a cargo van and getting like a popup canopy tent be a viable or recommendable situation ? Obviously with like the other necessities i.e water ,cooler , chairs , blankets etc etc

Blundstones on the farm?

I have an REI gift card i'm looking to use on some boots I can wear to Roo. I love my Chacos but not bringing any closed toed shoes was definitely a mistake last year!

I've seen a few people mention wearing Blundstones on here but does anyone have any insight on if I could break them in enough in 2-3 weeks? Also does anyone have experience with the high top Chelsea boots in particular?

Getting to Outerroo from airport

We have a buddy getting in to the Nashville airport late probably around midnight. We're already going to have camp set up so I don't think we can leave to go pick him up. What do you think is the best for him to get to the campsite from the airport?

Moon Colony

I heard there’s a separate entrance for moon colony, what’s the search like for it? I know the regular camping it’s mostly volunteers and one cop line wasn’t sure if it was the same or different?

Package came empty

First time Roo attendant. My package with my wristband showed up empty. Looks like it didn’t get heat sealed? I’m a little sad because it kinda takes away from the excitement. When I called Front Gate they said the ONLY option was to pick up at will call Thursday (June 13th) morning at some address that is a high school.

I asked about the other stuff that would have been in my package with the wristband and was told no I’ll only get a wristband, and now I have the leave camp (we’re driving in Wednesday- 8hrs) to go get it. I don’t find that entirely cool being this was not my mistake at all, why could they not send me a new package by mail. Has anything similar happened to anyone else before?

Sputnik

Hello, Flying in from Canada and our flight arrives 12am on Friday. We are not planning on renting a car as we don’t want to be responsible for it during the weekend. We plan on taking Roo Rides/ Ride share of some sort. Will we be able to enter the camp grounds(Sputnik )at 1-2am- I know we’ll have to set up in the dark. Or do we have to arrive at 8am? Thank you and happy Roo!

i went to bonnaroo last year with an ex and we had tickets for thursday-sunday. but this year i have tickets for just saturday and sunday. we plan on leaving for roo friday morning, because we only live about 3 and a half hours away. would they let us onto the farm at all friday night even tho our tickets are for saturday and sunday? it would make setting up way easier, but we did buy a parking pass for friday night just incase. thanks in advance!

Fellow olds! (40+). I need tips for being energetic and not in pain. Struggled hard last year

Hello fellow veteran Bonnaroo oldies! I’ve been going to Bonnaroo since I was younger, but then took a 5(?) year long break and returned last year at age 40. If you were there last year, you’ll remember that it was some of the best Bonnaroo weather ever. It wasn’t hot at all, and the nights were even a bit chilly. Heat was not an issue whatsoever. I also had the closest campsite I’ve ever had to centeroo, so the amount of walking I had to do was so minimal compared to years past.

But even so, Bonnaroo kicked my ass. (I don’t wanna be one of those people making everyone fear middle age, but something really did seem to happen to me somewhere between age 35 and 40 that fundamentally changed me lol. Probably doesn’t help that I also had two kids in that timeframe.)

My feet and legs were sooo sore, like I was running a marathon each day. (I know there’s a lot of walking but I did plenty of resting, too.) Also I routinely get 15,000 steps a day so it’s not like I’m not used to walking a decent amount. My trusty Tevas which had always served me well felt like cheap pieces of foam. I switched to running shoes and it was better, but not by a lot.

I got plenty of sleep but I was exhausted. Again, it’s normal for me to be tired but not that tired. I slept decently enough but by night 3 my back was aching.

SO.

Short of getting a scooter (no shade to those who legit need them) and orthopedic shoes, what else can I do to prepare? I’m in better shape this year so that’ll help, but I’m mostly worried because if the temp is in the 90s, as it easily could be, I feel like I’m going to be miserable and I don’t want that!

Send me all your tips and tricks! And comfy shoe recommendations especially. Olds unite!

Tent or no tent?

I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying they just sleep under their canopy’s with no tent. Another option being a tent under the canopy to help with the heat.
I’m not sure what would be the cooler option temperature wise.

LPT if you like to fiddle with things on your wrists:

Sew a button (or something similar) onto your wristband before putting it on at the tightest point you would be comfortable with so it can't accidently get too tight!

Any interest in crystals as gifts?

I have an insane amount of smaller crystals, some tumbled, some raw. If someone gave you a crystal with an ID and positive message, would you like this gift?

Fred Again Hype

I’ve gotten sick of seeing the hate Fred’s getting for getting a shot at closing out Roo this year. He’s exceeded at Lolla, MSG, Coachella, and all these pop ups around the world. Does anyone really think he won’t kill his first festival closer and also his only US festival of 2024?? Counting down the days.

Camping pass question

TLDR: can you buy/pick up camp passes as will call/on site?

We have a group of 3 vehicles going but plans changed. Third car is irrelevant to this situation. Originally it was us and 2 others riding together, they bought the camping pass, then another friend flying in bought their own for a rental car. Now we are driving alone, the other 2 with us in their own vehicle, and they are picking up the airport/rental car crew. So the plan now is we take the camp pass from the ones driving with us, they take the pass from the airport/rental car crew so they don’t have to spend money on a rental but everyone still gets a pass. Just for piece of mind, can I buy them on site or pick up at will call if something doesn’t work out as it should?

Complicated drop off question

I have a group with a grooping ticket. HOWEVER, my partner (who is not attending) would like to drop me off with all my camping gear. I will be riding home with one of our late comers. My questions are as follows:

Can they drop me and my things off at the campsite?

If not how would that work and am I stuck trying to haul all my gear a million miles?

I am a newb. Thanks for your help. <3
