Some people get a lot of static from their families or partners, some aren't sure how to earn enough money to travel, or are hesitant to leave the comfort of their lives for the unknown life of travel. Or even concerned about safety issues.
What has your experience been? I'm curious as to why more Black people don't travel long term.
For my African American studies class: The Black Male Experience, my group has to figure out what kind of ethnological study should be conducted and what issues need to be addressed about African American student athletes. Our question is: What are some issues pertaining to African American student athletes that need to be studied and addressed. What are the reasons these issues are concerning in today's society.
Has anyone been making new posts?
Just wondered. I have been in a few discussion with friends and family and I seem pretty hated for not voting (aka voting for Obama). Personally I feel that as a middle class Black American, nothing these two candidates are doing is for the good of me personally and are either aiding the rich or aiding keeping people relying on government assistance. I also feel that the two candidates are merely puppets of various sources and just do what they are told. You can't fool all the people all the time but if you fool the right ones, the rest will fall behind. I don't believe in the this countries concept of (psuedo) democracy. I will only see my self voting if there is a vote to rewrite the constitution in its entirety.
Disclaimer- these are just my opinions and nothing I wish to push on to anyone else, though I would like to hear your thoughts on politics in this country (USA)
Many of the previous mods have stepped down from their position. There has been many complaints about whats wrong and right with this subreddit. There has been many arguments and hateful remarks. Although the views are going well, our background isn't very defining. For those of you mature enough to become a mod, please say so.
Thank you guys so much for this big achievement! 5 more readers to reach our goal!
I have recently heard some unresolved arguments with our mod, ccoxe0. Do you believe he should be removed for his entitled opinion? I believe it is his right to say what he wants to say about Jewish people. If you do want him to be kicked out of the mods list, please say so in the comments. I want this subreddit to prosper with peace, not violence.
Thank you guys so much for joining! It means a lot to me! Next step is 45 readers!
The Issues with Blacks of Today By: Garian Duval
The “N” word is a frequent and cruel way for describing an African American. One of the many problems facing blacks today is racism. With the various issues of gangs, torment, and drugs, there is no wonder that blacks are known as a violent race. In this essay, I will discuss the issues and stereotypes of blacks today.
Ever since the dawn of time there have been different forms of slavery everywhere around the world. When the Europeans found Africa, they captured the Africans as slaves. Europeans destroyed everything dear to blacks, even their families. In my opinion the root of black corruption doesn’t come from violence, it comes from white supremacy and slavery.
If Martin Luther King were to come back alive, he would be disgusted to see how corrupt blacks have gotten. An extreme flow of stereotypes and racism come to my mind. Some of the stereotypes are that blacks are drug lords and love welfare checks. While many blacks get blamed for these stereotypes, I believe that this has come from white supremacy. Not every black person is the same. That should be a major fact to most people. There are those who match the stereotypes of blacks today, but then there are those who take the blame. Blacks constantly get looked down upon in society. Is it because blacks are a peaceful race? I think not.
One thing that has created a change in the black community is the acts of violence. Blacks are more likely to be in jail than any other race. Whether it is from violence, drugs, or racism, the black society is going through a terrible crisis. Blacks need to put an end to all of the troubles that face them today. How do we fix this you may ask? We must fix it through peace.
If blacks want these issues and stereotypes to disappear, the society must end the problems facing blacks today with peace and harmony. Blacks should speak up for the better cause. If we don’t travel back to our roots then we have nothing to fight for. In order to fix this major problem in the black community, Blacks must go back to their roots.
You might think that blacks are free to do what they want. The sad truth is they aren’t allowed to do many things. Attacks on public education, absurd rates of AIDS infection and a shrinking rate of entering college are some issues blacks face. Blacks don’t have anything to stand for. The United States is 12.9% Black. Either blacks put up with these issues, or they can take a stand to end violence.
Some ways to stop violence is by stopping gangs, restricting guns, sign petitions to restrict guns in gang filled areas, distribute fliers and create peaceful marches. I have a dream that one day blacks will all be at peace, and the issues today will end in the near future. Blacks can create a new generation with the power of one, all they need is change.

This subreddit has been alive for 10 days! Although I want more people to be active, I am happy with our progress! Thank you to all the readers who have stayed thus far! Next person who posts will get a special present!
I believe this is in a horrible state, especially in the present years.
My favorite is gospel, more specifically black gospel. It's always nice to listen to "The light NC" after unwinding from a long day.
Surprisingly, my family has not been in the war in my accord.
Woohoo!
I'm just saying that if you want this subreddit to become larger, we have to be larger. So far i have only seen 3 people active on here, I really encourage you guys to post more things. The only person who has posted on here is me and pgc.
I was thinking along the lines of violence in blacks. What do you guys think? Anyone have a good idea?
Almost time for voting! I'm going for Obama, I hope he wins!
