    Fiido C21 Urban E-Bike Review

Urban commuting has seen a revolution in recent years with the advent of electric bikes, and the E-Gravel C21 Electric Bike is at the forefront of this change. Designed specifically for daily commuters, this e-bike promises to deliver a blend of efficiency, comfort, and sustainability. After extensive testing, here’s a detailed look at how the C21 E-Bike performs.

    Design and Build Quality

The first thing that stood out to me about the E-Gravel C21 E-Bike is its sleek design and powder coated finish. It looked like a bike that I’d want to purchase. The frame is constructed from lightweight aluminum alloy, giving it a robust feel without being cumbersome or unnecessarily heavy. This is a great bonus as I have to carry it up and down stairs during my commute. The matte finish is stylish, full disclosure, I have a soft spot for matte finishes, so I may be biased.

The bike features a step-over frame design, which makes mounting and dismounting easy, which is much appreciated given the clothes I wear for my work. Fiido’s attention to detail is evident in the ergonomic grips and saddle, ensuring maximum comfort even on longer rides. While some riders may opt to replace the standard saddle with an aftermarket one, that’s not necessary. The integrated front and rear lights enhance safety and visibility during early morning or late evening commutes. Not all jurisdictions require bikes to have functioning lights, but I appreciate Fiido including them.

    Performance and Range

At the heart of the C21 E-Bike is a powerful 250W brushless motor, capable of propelling riders up to 16 mph (25 kmph) with ease. The bike offers four levels of pedal assist, from ECO to Turbo+, allowing me to choose the amount of assistance I needed based on the day’s riding conditions. For those days when you’re running late, Turbo+ mode is the way to go as it provides an extra boost without needing to pedal.

The 208.8Wh battery is one of the standout features of this e-bike, offering an impressive range of up to 50 miles on a single charge, 60 if you’re willing to drop down to Eco Mode. This makes it ideal for commuting to work, running errands, or even weekend adventures without the constant worry of recharging.

    Riding Experience

Riding the C21 E-Bike is a joy, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t really enjoy biking. The combination of the motor and battery provides smooth and consistent power without having to exert much effort, making uphill climbs and headwinds a non-issue. The 9-speed derailleur and gearing system allows for precise shifting from the tactile buttons mounted on the handlebar. The gearing system and built-in torque sensor makes it so at times I didn’t even realize I was pedaling.

    Safety and Technology

Safety is a critical concern for commuters, and the C21 E-Bike doesn’t disappoint. The dual disc brakes provide reliable stopping power in all weather conditions. Additionally, the bike is equipped with a responsive LCD display that shows essential information such as speed, battery level, and distance traveled – even more information can be gleaned when you pair it with the Fiido Mate or the iOS app. This ensures that riders can monitor their trip and make informed decisions on the go.

    Pros and Cons

    Pros:

    • Stylish and durable design

    • Powerful motor with excellent range

    • Cheaper than other e-bikes

    • Comprehensive safety features

    Cons:

    • Slightly heavier than some competitors (39.6 pounds)

    • Battery extender costs extra

    Conclusion

The E-Gravel C21 Electric Bike is an exceptional choice for commuters looking to enhance (and ease) their daily rides. Its blend of power, comfort, and safety features makes it a reliable companion for navigating city streets. While it comes with a premium price tag, the investment is justified by the quality and performance it delivers. If you’re in the market for an e-bike that redefines commuting, the C21 E-Bike is well worth considering.
