Dyson Vac Fail

I have had this thing for about a year and a half. I was vacuuming using the hose and it pulled the vacuum down about four stairs. Maybe a foot and a half drop where it "rolled" down to the ground. When it hit the ground, it shattered into about 15 pieces.

I really think a vacuum cleaner should be able to handle that.

I will never purchase another Dyson vacuum. Big mistake and lots of money wasted.

Pet Libro feeders

They last about a year max before starting to malfunction. I’ve been through 3 now with the same results each time. I like the convenience, but it’s not a reliable product.

small dots in hydro flask

I recently bought a hydro flask in November and i started seeing small brown dots at the bottom so I filed a claim and they were able to send me another one for free but the same thing happened with my second hydro flask within a month. I can't figure out if it's mold, rust or just mineral deposits. I tried the vinegar/baking soda with warm water hack and it still didn't come off.

does anyone have solutions??

thanks

Calphalon Classic lifetime warranty not usable due to no receipt.

I have 3 sets of Calphalon classic pots and pans that are many years old. Pretty much the whole range. I hand wash them. I left one of the lids in dishwater overnight 2 weeks ago, and water seeped inside the metal edge of the lid, which caused water to be trapped in between the glass and that metal edge.

I couldn't get the water out, and that water wasn't sanitary, so I called Calphalon to begin the warranty process. I was asked to send pictures via email. Several days later I got a response saying to send more pictures. I did.

They then asked me for proof of ownership. I've had these for years, and I only had 1 receipt that I pulled out of an old box. At this point, I'm probably 3 hours into waiting on the phone, emailing, going back and forth, so I'm happy to just be done. I send the receipt.

Then I get told that that lid didn't belong to that set. OK. So, what do I do? I can't find the receipt.

"Please reach out once you are able to provide proof of purchase to begin your warranty claim."

Well, that did it for me. I'm not going to put any effort into this any more. It's just a lid. Im out of luck, which is fine. I should have kept the receipt. I'll never buy from them again, that's for sure.

Klean Kanteen TKWide

I got my 32oz TKWide back in 2021 or 2022. It has served me well over the years but recently, it stopped keeping drinks cold. I noticed it had condensation outside the bottle once and this is no matter how tight I had the lid on. I already reached out to the local KK distributor but it's just honestly so disappointing that it didn't last that long after I kept raving about how good KK is and that I loved how easy it is to disinfect everything.

Muckboots fail.

I like the fit/ comfort, warmth, and traction of Muckboots Arctic Sport, but their durability is very disappointing. The warranty expires after a year from purchase, and given that these are winter boots, they are only used for 4 months a year. My left boot cracked where the rubber creases on the side where my foot bends, after just over a year and a half. Muckboots customer service has told me too bad, so sorry.

Given that the retail for these boots where I live is $275, this is very poor value. They should last much longer than that. I do not recommend.

$190 shoes began dying after <2years of soft use.

They developed cracks in the rubber soles and holes appeared between the soles and ’leather‘ of the show, I expected a lot more from them honestly, I even bought some jack boots for $75 less and they are better in every way -grippy, tough and hard soles, higher build quality, more material and more high quality material for less money.

Edit: the brand for the dead shoes was Clarks.

Ruggable is not buy it for life for it's purpose of being washable at home.

I bought $2,000 worth of Ruggable brand rugs. I read the reviews, everybody seemed to have a good time with them, so I went ahead and took the plunge. I have 300+ pounds of dog, and they are all maniacs that are constantly coming in and out of the house.

The rugs are ok looking, but the big selling point for me was the washability. I have a pro-grade top of the line extra large washer. It can fit the Ruggables easily, but the rugs are so big that the washer cannot properly clean them. The sheer size causes the rugs to act as a filter- keeping hair and debris inside the rug while water drains out. And, even with oxi clean and a number of other stain fighting cleaning products, after 2 years, they are stained up and gross looking.

I gave up and called the company that washed my old oversized rugs to come and take them, and they did, and they look great again, but now they have shrunk. And I never have dealt with that with my old area rugs. Apparently they wash a lot of Ruggables because the driver immediately recognized the pattern and said "you can't get them clean, can you? Ruggable keeps us in business". Which was a dumb thing to say and didn't help, but let the buyer beware I guess.

So, if you are thinking about buying Ruggables I highly suggest saving the money, buy some rugs you love for cheaper, and use the money you saved to just have your new rugs professionally cleaned.

Negative experience with APT2b

Spent so much time researching couches. I've had the Tuxedo sectional from Apt2B for less than 14 months. It was used by only one person for 11 of those months.

The chaise cushion has completely retained its structural integrity despite it being used the most and slept on nightly for almost a month and lounged on daily. It's fantastic. Meanwhile, both seat cushions on the sofa are sinking in. I've included a picture of the chaise cushion (minimal sinking) compared to the sofa cushion (can literally feel the frame when sitting).

The best part? Mulberry refuses to replace inserts..considers it "normal wear and tear". Apt2B will replace at a significant cost.

Just trying to save someone else from spending close to $4,000.

3 Klean Kanteen failed in less than a year

I’ve had my previous klean kanteen insulated bottle for close to 4 years before I dropped it one day while I was on a trip which caused a huge dent and the insulation gradually failed ever since. Given the positive experience, I purchased the exact same bottle from my local distributor.

Unfortunately, the insulation failed within 3 months and I contacted my local distributor that kindly replaced it for me, thinking that it was a mere manufacturing defect. Again, the second bottle failed within 3 months and I contacted the distributor again that kindly offered for me to switch to any other things they had in store. I contemplated switching to other brands but chose a different klean kanteen bottle instead, thinking that perhaps only that batch of bottles had some manufacturing defect. Unfortunately for me, the bottle failed once again recently and it’s becoming a little embarrassing for me to reach out to the distributor again.

Anyone else facing the same issues as I’m starting to wonder if there’s a problem with the way I’m using the bottle? Whatever happened to their lifetime warranty and extremely high QC standards? What’s a trustworthy brand that i can potentially use for life?

Uniqlo socks keep shrinking in the wash

Hello friends! First time poster here!

For a long time now I've tried to find cheap reliable clothing that I can keep for as long as possible.

I haven't had much luck with socks and this could perhaps be explained by my unwillingness to purchase more expensive ones.

After a long hiatus I returned to the Uniqlo Colour Socks which sell for about $5 or £3.90 if you're in the UK. I tend to go for black, white and olive green who's composition is 59% Cotton, 26% Acrylic, 12% Polyamide, 2% Elastane, 1% Polyester.

I was all my clothes at 30C heat at 600rpm for 1h - I would think that this is sufficiently cold and gentle as to not shrink my socks!!! And yet I've had to give a handful of pairs to my girlfriend and they are even a bit tight for her.

What am I missing?

Could it be the detergent? - it's pods with softener

Could it be the cycle? - despite it being 600rpm maybe it spins them for longer?

Maybe the contents of cotton is actually too high?

Samsung microwave

We got tired of having to replace our microwave every few years so last years we used a bunch of RBC points to get a nice higher end samsung microwave. One that is in the 300-400$ range. I really liked the features but after less than 1 year the magnetron broke. Since it's under warrenty we contacted customer service and only the part is under warranty. Labor + shipping would be ~150$ they offered us 30% off a new one. No thank you, cheap amazon microwaves lasted longer.

They won't just send us the part so we can do it ourselves. We looked into getting it fixed locally and apparently Samsung microwaves are built in a way to make it almost impossible to change the magnetron. Quoted 200$ for parts and labor.

Bought a cheapo 60$, yeah they break after 3 years and I don't like how wasteful it is to replace constantly but it seems impossible to buy a microwave that lasts longer than 5 years with regular use now.

Need to shit on Sheertex for a minute

I know other posts have been made about this brand before but I just need to vent. Ordered 3 pairs during their black friday sale and 2 pairs came with runs already in them, the third pair I wore yesterday to a Christmas party and they snagged instantly upon pulling them back up after using the bathroom. They were worn over freshly shaven legs, and I have short nails. I've gotten better wear out of tights from the drug store. I refuse to believe these work for anyone lmao.

Add on top of this - I submitted a support ticket asking for replacements for the 2 pairs that came damaged and they never responded, but CLOSED MY TICKET AND MARKED IT AS RESOLVED 🙃

I wonder how they managed to get all of those marketing photos with the tights stretched over a pair of scissors because I think these would snag if the wind blew the wrong way.

The pros and cons of the Klean Kanteen Insulated Tumbler

So I got the Klean Kanteen Insulated Tumbler because it got good reviews and it has that minimalistic look. It worked as advertised keeping cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot. Epic fail though as it's top heavy and an unfortunate hit can put it into its side and the lid isn't that good, so everything spilled on my MacBook and killed it. Are there any good lids I can use with this tumbler so at least I can recoup my losses?

Duluth Pack Fail

For context, I live in Minnesota. In Duluth there is a store called Duluth Pack, who makes leather goods such as the backpacks seen in the newest Jumanji movies amongst other things. I purchased one of their leather & canvas wallets in 2020 with the intention that I could get it repaired or warrantied if anything were to happen to it (buy it for life!). Gone will be the days of browsing TJ Maxx’s wallet section! At least I thought. Earlier this year, the stitching started coming loose on the ID card holder. I was pretty surprised because I thought the quality of the product was better and would last longer. Anyway, I had a work trip in Duluth scheduled for the coming months so I waited until I could bring it in to the store and ask about a warranty & repair. When I asked, to my surprise, they “no longer warranty or even do repairs” on wallets anymore. When I asked if I could get a new wallet in exchange, they said it’s only possible to re-purchase. How could they switch their policy after their entire brand is built upon this guarantee? Safe to say I won’t have this wallet for life anymore!

TLDR:
Despite purchasing a leather and canvas wallet from Duluth Pack in 2020 with the expectation of a lifetime warranty, I discovered that the store had abruptly abandoned its warranty and even repair policy for wallets, leaving me without the lifelong assurance I purchased the wallet for.

Miele Washing Machine Can't Be Fixed

I have a Miele washing machine and twin duos one is not working. I have had technicians to my house a dozen times, many parts replaced and cleaned, paid $700,

AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK!

Apparently this machine is not fixable and Miele has been unresponsive to help solve this problem. I am very disappointed in the product and lack of customer support.
