We "won" a competition to get $1000 off and I'm just wondering if they're a trustworthy company.
We’re looking to get married in 2026. I initially wanted an October date but I am open to winter if it is cheaper.
I really wanted it to be under $25k. Is this even a possibility? Wants
I’m a costume maker and will be making my own dress but that is the only thing I wanted to DIY. Maybe table decorations / menus etc
Hello! I am getting married next year and because of cultural customs I won’t be having the traditional ceremony / reception but rather some cultural things in the morning then the reception. As such, I wanted to register our marriage maybe a week or two prior to the wedding. Has anyone done similar and what were the costs? Or hot tips on best time to go?
Further, I have booked cake, photographer, MC etc but I am stuck on where to even start with flowers because everything is soooo expensive. Any help is appreciated. My wedding is set in a venue that looks straight out of the 70s and I want the florals to reflect this vibe aka roses and baby’s breath - nothing too difficult to emulate.
My fiancé and I are set on a destination wedding - we are well aware that our moderate guest list may dwindle and expect many won’t attend. I have dreamt of having a personalised wedding - essentially purchasing everything wholesale and diy. We’d also legalise our marriage first in Australia just the two of us or with my nana as she certainly cannot travel. I’m confident I can source wholesale florists and alcohol myself, most of the nitty gritty things like catering etc - we’d be ‘holidaying’ in the lead up (creating and preparing) and post celebrations will be doing activities with those who stay on the vacay. It sounds like a lot of work, but my heart and soul is set on being the creative director of our day and I know our friends and family whom will be present will love to be a part of the creation.
My questions are: Would a villa or resort you can hire be the optimal venue? Should we organise multiple sites of accomodation or have everyone together? Has anyone done this and can share their venue tips? We’re both in the mind of Thailand however Fiji also fascinates me.
We are getting married in Victoria mid-January next year. It will be a destination wedding in a homestead lawn with a mountain view right beside it. The ceremony will be held at the lawn and the reception will be in a marquee in the same lawn. We’ve also just recently moved to Australia so I’ve no knowledge of how the weather is during that time of the year. What are some of your experiences having a January wedding or attending a wedding in January? (e.g., weather-wise, sunset times, etc). Any tips or cautionary tales? Thanks in advance!
Seeking a videographer for our wedding next year April that’s under $1.8k in Sydney NSW
Hi all! I recently came across By Elora and love her work. Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for other South Asian bridal designers in Australia with a similar vibe? I find the typical neighbourhood traditional clothing stores a wee bit tacky :/
Hi all,
Just wanted to ask if anyone has recommendations for wedding dress boutiques in Melbourne who specialise in (or even cater for) plus size brides?
I'm not a fan of clothes shopping at the best of times, and am nervous about going somewhere that may not be helpful or kind to a nervous plus sized bride.
Any help appreciated.
TIA x
Friends of mine have gotten loans for their weddings. It doesn’t make financial sense to me to blow $30k minimum or get a loan and pay interest for a wedding.
We printed our invitations today and after printing we realised that the postcode is wrong. The event name and the rest of the address is correct, and we have included a link to the venue website too.
So we are now torn between 3 options:
It only cost us $52 to print them but we aren’t 100% sure we can get the same price again. I also feel bad about wasting paper.
I’m hoping to get some opinions from people here about the best thing to do please! Thank you!
Very newly engaged and we are looking to start viewing some potential venues for both ceremony and reception; hoping for some guidance on:
📍 what questions did you go in with?
📍What questions do you wish you’d asked?
📍What questions did the venue ask you that I should be prepared to answer?
📍Anything else that could be helpful to uncover hidden costs and/or venue limitations
For context, looking at about 70 people in Sydney, Australia / exclusive hire of a restaurant / potential registry ceremony / no dancing
Feeling a bit overwhelmed 🥲
For around 150 guests, seating required. Something thats not a crazy price per head possibly
We designed our own save the dates and printed them at home (A6 with 4 to an A4 page), however, cutting them was not entirely uniform. This time with our design of the wedding invites, probably A5 (unless we should do A6), we are looking at getting them properly printed instead of doing it at home. Where do you suggest? Located in Sydney
It’s going to be hot. Mother in law suggested we use parasols. Any other hot weather tips for a January 2025 wedding? Will be oceanside so there may be some breeze
So I’m wanting to find a venue on the South Coast, eg. Berry, Gerringong, Bowral for my wedding. However there’s a few key factors:
• venue must do reception & ceremony • cater to 50 guests only • myself and my fiancé are happy to stay at the venue however we don’t want to book additional rooms for guests.
Please help if you have any ideas!
i’m thinking of having my wedding next year and honestly have no idea where to start or even how much is a normal wedding these days? for about 60 people, what would be a price range budget, were not wanting something over the top just simple. i know wel have to hire everything, a photographer, catering, alcohol, flowers. i’ve tried planning it a few times previously and it all starts getting overwhelming seeing all the prices so i give up 😂
If you're exploring unique wedding venues in Melbourne, there are a few places that blend nature with modern design, like Glasshaus. They offer two locations that use plants and greenery as part of the space—one is more of an indoor botanical setup, while the other is great for outdoor garden ceremonies. Both provide a relaxed yet elegant vibe, perfect for couples who love a natural aesthetic.
Looking for help / recommendations. We are dreaming to have a wedding in a winery - but we would need recommendations of good experiences. We love beautiful nature surrounding, but the wedding venue would need to be relatively close to Melbourne.
Our budget is not massive, so we are looking for affordable options. We are having around 50-60 guests.
Thanks in advance!
Has anyone been to/had a beach wedding in Brisbane? Google has not been very helpful at finding beaches where we can have our ceremony. We'd ideally like Northside such as Redcliffe, Morton bay, Scarborough
Anybody have any experience with weddings with Beta events? Mainly concerned about the food... Thanks!
Currently planning for our wedding on January next year and I’m contemplating on whether we should continue with hiring a DJ. We’ve decided on hiring an acoustic singer for our ceremony btw.
Details:
No. of guests: 50-60
Venue: outdoor lawn/mountain-view wedding
Reception: outdoor marquee
Guests are mostly family and friends coming from overseas, so we wanted to make it extra special for them by maybe hiring a DJ as well.
Appreciate any ideas/thoughts!
Hi there, looking for a wedding venue in Sydney for 110 people.
Budget for food and beverage is about $10K
Thinking bowlos, pubs etc.
Not too fussy, just wanna boogie with our mates and make sure everyone has a full belly.
Thanks.
Hi all!
I'm looking for opinions on having a second dress for the reception - did you do it and you're glad you did? Did you not and you were happy with that choice? The dress I've chosen is comfortable but a fit and flare style so could potentially restrict me a tad for dancing.
If you have any recommendations for where to look for a reception dress please send them my way! I really love the Rosie Etienne styles for inspo. I'd go for either a mini or midi dress.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, looking for some help scoping out wedding venues in Melbourne or the Mornington Peninsula. Hoping to get married late 2025/ early 2026. We are looking for marquee style or open winery style wedding venues- not the traditional stuffy ballroom types. Most of our guests will be travelling so we are looking for venues that are easy to get to. We will likely have around 200ppl (ethnic families) and our budget for the venue would be somewhere between $40000 - $55000. If anyone has any ideas that would be great! My partner and I haven’t lived in Melbourne too long so don’t know many placed. Also being on the larger end with numbers, are aware that beautiful venues may be harder to find. Thanks :)
Please let me know if you recommend a place for being quite affordable. We only have 30 guests so don't need too many.
Thank you :)
As the title says, I'm looking for designers (small or big) that do more vintage/deco or just generally unique style dresses.
Points for grey/oyster grey colours. Double point for affordable.TIA!
So I am getting married early next year and am in the thick of planning all the smaller items right now..
Back story is a couple months ago we unfortunately lost Dad to cancer, and by the wedding date it still will be quite fresh and emotional (I tear up just thinking about how emotional it's going to be haha). Anyways, my FH had already gone and organised me a pin with a photo of Dad for my bridal bouquet, but as I was pondering tonight on the gifts for my bridesmaids, I wondered if it would be appropriate to also give my sister a pin with a photo of Dad and a message for her bouquet? If someone did that for me I would be love it, but I do understand we all think and feel differently so I don't know if I should just leave it?
Any thoughts or advice?
Hey reddit, currently looking for waterfront wedding venue recommendations in Sydney (Taronga zoo, Dockside, etc). Currently looking at approximately 150-200 people, budget apprx $170-190pp
For people who have married in waterfront venues, has backlight and reflection on the windows been an issue during your wedding day? Some tips to save will be appreciated too!
