I love presets, does the effect rack have loads? I love mangling sound, especially guitar and vocals. I use Logic and have collected many plugins over the years. I have a couple of free Soundtoys plugins and like them. I have always wanted to try Decapitator but that is like $50 on its own so I thought I could just go for it and get the Bundle as I am a student.
Hi! Is there a free drum and keyboard plugin that sounds like disco 80s? Pls give suggestions. Thanks you!
Looking for recommendations for a good voice changing plugin. This means I can change my voice completely while talking into a mic and sound like somebody else.
I say it this way because when I ask this I usually get “you can change the pitch or tone with this plugin” or something to that effect
Hello guys!! Anyone can recommend a good mandolin plugin?
Hi, I generally believe in actually owning the software I use. As SuperPlate by SoundToys seemed like a fine sounding plugin, I purchased it while it was on special offer. Before that, I had specifically contacted SoundToys regarding iLok versus machine license, because they offer both for their plugins. They told me per email that I can either use iLok (2 installations) or a machine license (1 installation). I should have read the rest of the email closer, because they also said that I have to have the iLok app installed on the machine.
I have been producing music with computers (Atari, Apple) for over 35 years, and in this time have grown to really not like iLok / PACE and thus these days run a system that only uses non-iLok licensed software. I have informed both SoundToys and PluginBoutique about the problems and will keep this post updated.
For people actually purchasing software and not resorting to piracy, this was a frustrating experience. Over the past few weeks, I have installed legitimate copies of EAReverb, Crystalline, Verberate 2 and MasterDesk Pro, and none of these were a problem, licensed either via challenge / response, license key or installer. This experience, however, left a bitter taste with me. Regards
I just bought the Eventide Blackhole plugin and installed the AU version on a Mac. Logic doesn't seem to think this plugin is compatible because it shows up under Audio Units > [Incompatible] > Blackhole (No MIDI). I have done a couple of recordings and it seems to work fine. What's the deal with that? And what does "No MIDI" mean?
I would appreciate the help , I'm forced to work on my old device and it only supports 32bit version
Normally, BFD3's MSRP in BFD website is about $250, but the listed price in Plugin Boutique is $100 (and even gets a discount up to $30 too).
This makes me wonder, am I missing anything when buying BFD3 in Plugin Boutique instead of the BFD website?
been trying to find this weird glitchy plugin which did a bunch of things like delay freq shift pitch shift etc. it had a white background with huge circular black dials very minimal looking and then when you turned the dials the colours changed. it was on the creators website for free and he had a bunch of other weird plugins as well. pls tell me its name if yall remember. Its by an indie dev not by any of the big dogs. Saw it on a yt vid a few years back but cant find it in my history and have gone through many system resets so no kick trying to find the file
I’m in the market for some new plugins. I typically use a lot of slate digital stuff. What do you got?
So I do want to take advantage of the Black Friday deals that are out right now.
Which VST should I buy if I could only get one or two depending on the price?
Hi everyone,
I'm working on WubDaddy which lets you easily switch through several drawable LFOs on incoming audio.
An example use case is to experiment with and play different wub patterns on your supersaw chords. Essentially, its a keyboard playable LFO Tool with multiple LFOs.
See the following for a screenshot of the UI, which hopefully makes it clear what it does:

I guess I'm looking for any feedback or thoughts on how useful such a plugin would be. If you'd like to play with it, I'd be happy to share it (Mac only).
Thanks!
I'm looking to replicate the presets of an H90 using Eventide plugins, but I don't have an H90 pedal. It would be interesting as a project, with some kind of rack a la soundtoys effectrack. Apparently there is no detailed listing of H90 presets available, and it's too expensive for me to buy one.
Haven’t found an Ai voice changer that does anything other than change ur voice in real time. I don’t always have access to a computer so I record YouTube videos by screen recording and audio recording on my phone. Is there a way I can apply an Ai voice changer to a normal recording? Pls lmk
Hi there -
I'm curious if anyone has encounter this (or has a workaround). One of my favourite compressors is the PA elysia alpha compressor, but when I did the update to v 1.17.1 about a year ago, it was no longer able to read any of my saved project presets (from within Reaper, or within Bitwig - this is not a Reaper only issue for me). It could not even load its own factory presets (.vstpreset files). I'm running Win 11.
PA gave me a link to the older v1.16, and this works well, but I am forever blocked from being able to upgrade to the newer version. (I cannot even export a preset from v1.16 and load it in v1.17.1 or vice versa).
On a linux system (wine/yabridge), I was able to open up the presets, but not on my windows machine. (The linux install is extremely flaky - it was more as a test).
I've cleared caches, purged files, deleted registry entries, etc, etc, but it's to no avail thus far.
Anyone else with a similar experience? Any ideas? PA support has given up. I'm just completely at a loss for ideas.
Many Thanks!
I have bought a bunch of UAD plugins, they are great in quality when they actually work. But for some reason they stop working all the time and say that i need to log in or that i have to restard my DAW to be able to use them. At this point i never use them anymore because of this.
I use Ableton on a mac m1 if that matters.
Anyone else have the same problem as me? Any soolutions?
Longtime live musician here. Guitar/Vocals/Songwriter
I’m new to home recording and have a simple desktop setup.
My primary tools have been:
• Reaper • Scarlett 2i2 • Guitar Pro 8 • Addictive Drums 2
I use Bias FX 2 for all my guitar tones.
I wanted to ask, are there any good plugins/programs for vocals.
I just purchased Melodyne 5, which looks very handy. But, what Bias FX is for guitar, what is there for vocals?
It always seemed to me that vocals generally don’t seem to need all that much beyond some reverb and EQ, maybe some compression. So maybe my question is redundant.
But is what’s out there for Vocal tone/effects?
Hi everyone!
Today, I'm excited to launch my first plugin — a reverb plugin designed to be as user-friendly as possible, with minimal controls and a high-quality sound. This release is essentially a prototype, and I’m really hoping to get honest feedback from the community to help improve it.
The idea behind this plugin is simplicity. It includes only a few core controls: wet level, damping, stereo width, room size, and a knob to activate freeze mode. You can download it for free, and I’d love to hear your sincere opinions on how it performs and where it could improve.
To install, just add it to the VST section of your DAW (I personally use FL Studio). I'm already working on other projects, and I hope this is the first of many plugins I'll bring to the community.
Thank you all very much, and I hope this plugin becomes a helpful tool in your production journey. Happy producing!
Hi, anyone having this issue?
At my work we have changechanged some computers but not updated our licenses, sso on our pc for example we have been able to install the 9.92 legacy versions. But on some of our new macbooks it seems impossible.
The mac os is sonoma so 14.1 currently, but when I try to install the legacy version 9.92 it says that the mac os is older than 10.10 and if i try the legacy of 9.6 it says that the mac os is 0.0? Like wtf?
Anyone know the issue?
I'm trying to search for a free sidechain plugin that applies its effect each time the MIDI note from a kick on another track plays. Does anyone know a plugin like that?
I have some free versions of MODO Drum and Addictive Drums 2, both of which have some decent studio/rock drumkits but I'd love some proper heavy sounding kicks and snares. Thanks in advance
I have bought and installed both plugins but it doesnt show up on my plugins list even tho it is on the avid/plugins folder. I tried downloading it again but it still does not show up. But when I open it on Reaper it works normally so the problem is probably with pro tools
(Im using pro tools on windowns, so its not the M1 chip problem)

Looking for smth as in topic name. Would be great if that kind of plugin had good built-in sequences/presets of different rhthms of those drums. And am looking for those processed epic sounding thumps and drums, wide, compressed, etc. I plan to use those epic drums in electronic dance music compositions
Here is an example use, timestamped piece Airwave "Tigris and Euphrates", hear the drums:

ofc i can format and process everything myself, i want smth ready-to-use, big sounding already coz I'm looking to complement the writing/creative process
thank you for ur suggestions!!1
I am working on a soundtrack that I imagined having a specific Romanian instrument in it, called a Carpatianhorn / bucium. Any clue if a VST plugin for this exists at all? I couldn't find anything on the internet other than the Romanian Nai Woodwind, and that's not exactly what I'm going for.
I'm taking a quick survey of music producers and film/game scorers to figure out which features matter most to you. I'd love your insight and feedback: https://forms.gle/r79pjfCP2RxzPjo39
