Are there any restaurants in town that serve popovers? My mom is coming to visit and she loves ‘em.
Hello, some friends and I are coming into Seattle this weekend and I’m wondering if anyone has some suggestions for nightlife. Just looking for active bars in the area because we have never been out over here. We are all early 20s.
Hello everyone! I will be visiting Seattle for the first time over New Years and was wondering what some great options are to celebrate on the 31st! We enjoy a relaxed vibe with some good dinner/drinks, but are also not opposed to a vibrant party type atmosphere later on. Any recommendations? TIA!
My partner and I are doing our legal wedding (not the whole big party) in early January- any recommendations for a cool looking spot around the city to do the quick ceremony? Preferably near some nice dinner options since our parents will be witnessing and we'd like to take them out!
My husband and I are in town for a few days and were thinking of joining the rush list for A Very Die Hard Christmas. It looks like it's first come, first serve and we can put our names and hour ahead of time. Is there usually a line ahead of then for the rush list? We're trying to figure out how early to show up!
Gunna be in the area for the weekend, down in belltown. Is there any good soccer bars/sports bars. Me and my buddies wanna watch the MLS cup final
hello!! i’m visiting my bf in seattle soon, he recently moved out there for college so hasn’t gotten to explore much yet. i was wondering what we should do besides the tourist stuff. any good food recommendations, places to go, or just something to do for fun?
Which casinos in the greater Seattle / Western Washington area allow sports gambling (specifically college sports)?
Ive never booked a hostel before and I will be going there soon on our honey moon. There is an option for a bed that will fit two people but is this for plus size or can two people sleep here? I read that hostel dont allow more than one person in a bed. Also is there any things to look out for when sleeping in a room with 6-8 other strangers? All bets are off when the lights go out? Thanks
Hello! Were you the vehicle that my Uber driver rear-ended in Bellevue on 116 Ave NE on Nov 29, 2024 around 2:35-2:45 pm? Or did you happen to see it? We were stopped at a red light. I was a passenger in a Toyota RAV4 Uber, which rear-ended what I recall being a silver Kia Telluride. Unfortunately, I was injured in this accident and the driver is apparently denying to Uber that this accident ever happened and I was too shell-shocked and unsure of what to do as a paying passenger to take photos of the other vehicle and the driver/passenger without their permission. The driver of my Uber was begging the other vehicle's driver and passenger not to report this accident to insurance. If you were in that vehicle or otherwise witnessed the accident, I would appreciate you reaching out to me. I am from Canada and was in town just for the day so this is all challenging to navigate.
I have a passion for bringing people together and curating intentional conversation. There is so much content to consume, and so many people selling "how to's". So, I've been working on a project to cultivate small group discussions on varies topics. We've done everything from diving into politics, to what it means to be in integrity, and Alderian psychology. I'm curious if people have recommendations for places that I can collaborate with to host these conversations? I'd love to hear them. Coffee shops, book shops, lounges, ect. I'm not limited to any specific neighborhoods or areas, so I'm open to what ever you've got!
Where is good for trivia on a Monday night?
Hello, I’m looking into going into the Library of Science Masters Degree at UofW. I am also interested in Book Binding and I’m not sure how much I’m going to actually be learning through my program, so I wanted to see if there are any other options to learn Book Binding in the Seattle area?
Hi everyone,
I was looking for a place to visit in January, and I picked Seattle as it was one big US city I still have yet been on my bucket list and the flight price was great from where I live (FL).
After doing some research, I saw some Seattle people saying that January was actually one of the worst times to visit, should I reschedule? I’m fine with the cold, but idk if it’ll be worth trying to reschedule for June or July when it’s hotter. Seems like after May that flights directly from where I live only leave at night, and I want to leave in the morning to make the most out of the day. Also I’d have to eat 50% of the flight costs for cancelling it for my current trip (I used points for my hotel)
I also was considering for my current trip one the last day renting a car on Turo and taking a day trip to Vancouver (which is a lot of driving i know but my main concern is if the roads would be drivable enough to do this during January)
Main attractions I want to see in Seattle:
The spheres Going up the space needle Bainbridge ferry UW campus REI flagship store Seattle underground tour Kerry park Capital Hill General sightseeing and exploring downtown
Any feedback would be appreciated, especially for a solo traveler, thanks!
Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Seattle with my girlfriend from Dec 28-31, and I want to show her everything that makes the city amazing (and maybe convince her it’s a great place to live!).
Looking for ideas to make this trip extra special and showcase why Seattle is such an incredible place to live. Appreciate any tips!
Hi everyone,
My partner and I are relocating to Seattle for work this June, and we're searching for a 1-bedroom apartment within a $2,000/month budget. We're both in our 20s, but we're not big on the nightlife scene. Our priorities are walkability and safety (As we are two ladies), as well as having enough space for our small dog and cat.
We've seen some apartments in the $1,600 range, in the downtown/ cap hill area, but they’re usually around 400 sq. ft., which feels too tight for us. I’ll be working at Seattle University, so we'd prefer to be reasonably close to campus. However, I do have a car. Any recommendations for neighborhoods or apartment complexes that might fit our needs?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hey!
Super stupid and just a random question that I thought would be fun to answer.
What song reminds you of your time in the Seattle/Seattle metro area? Especially if you visited and when home brings you back to your time?
For me, it’s “Stay” by Jaime Isaac. I was in Seattle last month for a second time and all I could think about was living in Washington State. It’s so beautiful. And the song fits the vibe that I have but also (for me) the vibe I get from Seattle/pacific northwest.
What’s yours? Would love to see if I get the vibes from your songs!
Wanting to move for school in the nearish future. Any recommendations on what towns to move near Seattle? Any other moving advice and in state residency advice welcome. Thank you!!
Hi!
Where in Seattle is the best place for a black family to live, has a great school district and has a high walkability score?
Can anyone recommend real estate agents that specialize in land purchases in Washington (right outside of Seattle or SW Washington near Portland)?
Up until recently, I could still drive during the day if I was having a Good Eye Day but those are coming less and less frequent. It's time to give up the keys. Unfortunately, my current city has no real functional public transit system, and Uber/Lyft is just too expensive unless I want to be a full-time hermit.
Doing searches for "Best cities to live in while blind" or "while going blind" or "while visually impaired" produce dozens and dozens of lists. They are all different; most have cities that are on that list and that list alone... but what they all have in common is Seattle, and it is almost always #1.
I used to live in Seattle, but that was fifteen years ago so I'm sure a lot has changed. Also, I could still see well enough to drive back then - so my experience with public services is zero and my experience using the bus to get places is limited.
Anyone with experience have any advice?
I am looking for a place in the NW District (Crown Hill, Loyal Heights, Greenwood, Phinney Ridge, and if I can afford it: Ballard --- basically anywhere near 15th Ave NW).
I've also lived in Wallingford, The U District, Maple Leaf, Capital Hill, and Greenlake... not really interested in those, but beggars/choosers and all that.
Am I totally delulu?
Hi everybody, in the spirit of keeping things local, I thought I would come on here and ask if anyone had any recommendations of an individual or Seattle business that specializes in digitizing VHS? I had anywhere from 10-20 family videos on VHS that I’d like to digitize, so that I can put together a video for my grandfathers funeral and for my cousins wedding.
Priority is getting it done relatively quickly and done right. I’m terrified to cut corners and lose priceless family footage.
Thanks so much in advance for your recommendations!!
I’m looking for a place in Seattle nearby Seattle Central, and it seems every company including Arboreal is just horrible with a 1 star average. But most the places seem to be owned by Arboreal. What is y’all’s opinions on them, and any other you recommend. Thanks!
Hi friends, this might be a lost cause, but…
I have family visiting Seattle from Australia and wondering if there’s any place to buy 4 resale tickets to A Very Die Hard Christmas at Seattle Public Theatre (Green Lake) on December 20 or 21?
(I know there’s a “rush list” chance at the box office on the night, but I am keen to avoid that uncertainty in planning my family’s time here.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi! Heavily considering spending my Christmas break in Seattle. I normally visit around April to check out National/State Parks, Coffee Shops, or anything that has me outdoors. Considering the weather is different, I don't have any solid ideas that keep me indoors and warm.
Any recommendations for fun events in Seattle? Does not need to necessarily be in Seattle as well. Anything is welcomed! (420 friendly as well. Not sure if that makes a difference, lol.)
Hello seattle! Is it safe to travel to Seattle? I’m traveling to Harborview from the east side of Washington this coming Tuesday and my family doesn’t want me to go due to the snoqualmie pass usually being snow & ice around this time of year. The bomb cyclone landing last week was in the news as well and I’m just wondering if conditions have changed? Should I consider rescheduling?
What hotels and resteraunts are great for a romantic weekend getaway at the end of March?
Hi I've been a resident of the Maple Leaf Neighborhood in North Seattle for 2 years, and I love the Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. I frequently go there to walk, run, play basketball, or just hang (also looking to play pickleball there but haven't yet).
I'm also a big fan of Calisthenics and bodyweight exercises. I'm familiar with there being some pull up bars and calisthenics stations at one or two other Seattle parks, but I'm curious what it would take to propose a project and construct a proper outdoor calisthenics space in Maple Leaf. That park has so much space and it feels like it would be a great place to do body weight training given how many people use it to be active there already. My hope is that it would be a useful and free community resource that would be a space for people interested in calisthenics to connect and form groups.
This brings me to my question. How do I propose this? I don't have any experience with community driven projects like this, and if anyone has experience of this nature I'd greatly appreciate any insight one might have. I'd imagine there might be a need to fundraise and get approval, talk to parks and recreation, or possibly city council. Regardless I'm looking forward to finding out more or any advice anyone has, and generally just connecting with the community. Thanks =]
I run a crochet & knitting club at my school in Seattle and would love ideas of local places/organizations/events we could donate handmade items to. We have a range of experience levels in the club, so it would be best to do items that are pretty simple and quick to make. We’ve already done a project with hats. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
