https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsRQE0QtQ-MHe says Art's COPD was the real reason he quit radio several times but Art wouldn't tell the truth to his fans for some reason. He goes on to say Art could barely talk at the end, and couldn't even walk to the mailbox. "I don't blame him...." *Looks down*
Probably the most disturbing episode that I've heard from his show. I remember she expressed willingness to return to the show. He had other witches return.
Does anyone know why we never heard from her again? Did Art comment on it.
Art is in rare form this night. Playful and desperate. But he’s not showing his desperation, but we know he’s desperate when he’s throwing an Open Lines show. He didn’t do that because he loved opened lines, so much as that was indeed a fun option when he didn’t have a super cool guest. And for those quick to argue this: during this show he played about an hour long segment with a woman who has the coolest NDE he had ever heard. Yes — it was from 1999 and he just made the network run that segment in full… and it was incredibly cool. It’s the story of a women who had this very thorough NDE where she gets sucked through a doorway and hovers above a hellscape and then she visits celestial beings and loses her fear of death. She had been hit by a driver and flew through the air 60 feet. It’s a wild story. And my contention here is that he played it because he didn’t want to answer the phone.
But this show is also significant for the first caller/guest… it’s not really a guest. It’s a dude who asked Dick Cheney about UFOs on some other call in radio program. This might sound boring but this episode is simply as good as almost any episode except for Trumbull County UFO show. Not kidding.
There’s this reflection section on a brain eating amoeba that killed a little girl in Rohnert Park… and then later in the show a doctor faxes in about another death… the whole thing is chilling and worth checking out.
Is this description ringing bells for any one? Other fans of this particular show?
I'm getting close to starting a 7pm-3am job. Any recommendations on any overnight nightly shows I should start listening to? and how to get them?
I've just come across this after many years of listening to Art and I'm in f*cking stitches. I don't know how I missed this!
You can tell they were huge fans of Art's show because they know all of his mannerisms, stories, topics, specifics to him and how to make it humorous.
What a fantastic homage to the man
Brigadier General Johnson Jamerson signing out!
2002-01-11 "If you were God" Open Lines. EOTR caller makes crowns and bridges and claims to have inscribed thousands of them with Art's initials. Art reflects on this later in the show, "that means thousands of you are walking around out there with my mark in your mouth."
That's some top-notch C2C insanity.
In the late 90’s I was introduced to Art Bell by a friend while working on the ocean in the PNW. One night he had a guest where they talked about the moon landings being a cover for signing a treaty with aliens. At least this is how I remember first hearing this theory. I’ve dug all over the web and can’t find it. Sound familiar to anyone? Would have been summer of 97 or 98. Thanks!
I stumbled upon this video today regarding a lawsuit that Art was involved with. I am not familiar with Ted Gunderson and was researching an entirely different subject on YouTube when I found this video. Obviously I am team Bell all the way but I thought it was interesting to hear the other side of the story for the sake of Art Bell lore and history .
I’m trying to find an episode in which a caller was talking about a Bigfoot sighting. IIRC she said she heard them talking, and they said something like, “Loop larp loop.” It would have been between 2001-2008ish, and I can’t recall anything else about the show. Does it ring any bells for anyone?
Sometimes I’ll listen old episodes and wonder whatever became of an interviewee and his/her grand reveal. I just finished listening to the June 5th, 2001 with Bugs (last name redacted on the show), and Robert Morgan. In the episode, Bugs provides Art and Robert a map which he claims marks the burial location of two Bigfoots he killed in self defense during a hunting expedition. A good portion of the show is Art then waxing whether it would be ethical (and legally sound) for him and Robert to seek out and exhume the bodies.
It’s a great listen. I’m just curious if anyone knows what became of this (clearly, they didn’t find Bigfoot) or if Art mentions it in other episodes. Thanks!
Ok....I know we take most of these callers with "grain of salt" mentality but I've been listening to a lot of AB episodes lately and this one kind of hi me today. Because if you look at the direction things are going currently, and then listen to those "time travelers" talk, specifically the guy who talked about being from a different timeline where the south won the civil war and how we invaded Canada as well.....taking over Mexico. It's just..... interesting. Do I believe we have time travelers? It would be really narrow minded to discount everything especially with as much as we're not told. It's just very interesting, all I'm saying.
Man, wish we could hear Art's thoughts about the past few years.
It breaks my heart that Art is not here to see this.
I would say we are as close to hard disclosure that we've ever been, I know disclosure has been "going to happen in the next few years" for the past 30 years, but it really does feel like we are nearing the endgame for disclosure here.
I can only imagine the shows that Art would have had with people like Ross Coulthart, David Grusch and Jake Barber.
It would have been nice to get Richard Hoagland's take and some of the Remote Viewing guys' take on these guys as well. I've seen Dr Steven Greer's reaction and I kind of feel he is hedging.
I feel like we wouldn't be having these discussions now without Art's (and LMH and other's) dogged coverage of this kind of stuff over the decades
Art really helped sow the seeds in the public conciousness for this kind of work to be possible imho.
Do you guys remember this guy...Dr.Bruce Goldberg that would come on the show talking about parallel lives, future lives, past lives that one could access.... He was probably a scam artist but I wonder if there was something to what he was talking about ? 🤔
I was 16 when Art Bell entered my like, and had continued to through every aspect of my life. Through the good, bad, horrific, or at my ends rope, Art s who I run too ... And I'm back in time , young, curious, and good. ..... With that said, I'll listen to certian episodes more than once. Mel's Hole is on the top of the list. But the this episode where he tells of a second hole, and it's .... I have no words . I would like to know if certain claims were looked into ? Mel's account of the second hole he was shown was nothing like hole on his property. Except, both holes, would eminate, a black beam. The blackest of black. And the ice that radiates heat ... LOL as I'm writing, I'm listening at the same time. . Just hearing Arts reaction to Mels account, is worth a listen ... I love this
You guys ever hear the bit Art did on the air when he ate lightbulbs? Quite cool and very Art Bellish.
Long time listener, first time question: has anyone compiled the predictions shows to see how accurate or not they are?
I suspect a large chunk of the callers on the show were mental patients.
I’ve been searching for still active sites from the late 90s. Sites like the one Art had or even Angelfire ones with web rings, info on William Cooper, astral projection etc
Got anything for me? Looking to do a little time travel…
I started listening to old Coast 2 Coast AM episodes recently because I love the subject matter, and Art did a great job as a host. But an added bonus that I’ve really enjoyed is listening to news and perspectives from the 90s when the show was in its prime. Whether it’s open lines on the Unabomber when that was unfolding, news about images from Jupiter, or politics from a different generation, it’s interesting to see how things have changed, and how they’ve stayed the same. So many details from the past get forgotten, glossed over, or taken for granted because they seem no longer relevant, but I’ve loved opening up the time capsule and getting a deeper look at a different era of human history.
I remember a story from way back of some suspected Roswell crash debris that Art Bell was sent that were made up of Bismuth. Does anybody know whatever happened to this suspected crash debris?
Weird stuff in the 10-08-2001 episode. Art is so saddened by the news that Tush Limbaugh is losing his hearing he announces on an upcoming shiw that he will lead a mass prayer event on air in the hopes that Rush's hearing returns.
It's jind of funny because it is so out of character and Art acts like the world is ending because Rush is going deaf LOL.
Would love to hear Art calling the prayer out on air but it's not in the archive.
EDIT: he did it on the 10-18-2001 show. he had back problems after the 10-08-2001 show so while I thought the show was missing he just didn't broadcast for a few days.
Hey All - a total long shot here as I don't know anything else about the episode beyond how it opened up. I heard it on the air sometime after 2010, I'm 90% sure it was an Art Bell hosted episode. The show opened up with the typical intro, The Chase, however when Art came on the air he said something like "I'm not sure if you noticed but our intro song played longer than usual we were having some technical difficulties because they were blocking our transmitters." Obviously not a direct quote - just my memory of something similar to what he said.
I've never stumbled upon this episode ever since and I'm not sure if he was joking about the government/some other entity messing with his transmission or if he was serious. To me it sounded like he was just not paying attention and realized he didn't jump in and start talking at the right time. My memory is that the intro played for nearly 1 min before he came on the air.
I’ve noticed the majority of you are skeptics, as was Art at his core. If you stop over in places like r/aliens and r/UFOS it’s the bottom of the barrel of sanity and seemingly zero tolerance for rational thought and critical thinking. I see most of you understood that Art loved to wonder, wanted to believe, but rarely did he jump the shark as it were. I think he’d not waste his time with such absurdities out there on social media, but would respect the plurality of grounded individuals here. Yeah Art attracted some nuts, as does every fringe sub, but this is like a MENSA convention compared to those subs I mentioned, and far too many more.
Give yourself a round of applause. 👏
There was an old episode and it had this Australian or English guy who was somewhat of a sailor and spoke about a lost island or a lost continent in the northern pacific. Does anyone recall this episode?
