Anyone else having trouble joining the forum with the verification questions? It seems you can't get them right.

So I've been trying to join the Archie forum but when I get to the verification question it keeps putting them down as wrong even when it's write. Like when it asked which show was loosely based on Archie comics and I said Riverdale it said wrong. And when it asked which 80's show had the Archies, and I said "New Archies" it also said wrong.

I'm looking for a particular comic

So, decades ago, I remember a comic wherein the gang is hanging out at the old swimming hole. The guys are swinging off the rope, yelling obnoxiously as they hit the water.

The girls tell them to stop, and the guys explain that it's a primal instinct to yell. They end up making a bet that Betty can't swing off the rope without doing the same.

Betty takes the bet, swings off the rope, hits the water, and ends up yelling after she comes up. Veronica tries to say they won the bet, but Betty shuts her down, saying to hurry up and give the guys their money and send them off to buy ice cream.

Once the guys leave, Betty explains to Veronica that the reason she yelled was because she lost her top in the water. The comic ends on that punchline, with Veronica running to get her a towel.

I may be misremembering a couple small details, but I definitely remember this comic. Does anyone know it? It was in one of the older Double Digest magazines, presumably Betty & Veronica or Pals 'n' Gals. It was almost definitely a DeCarlo work. Thanks in advance to anyone who might know it.

Anyone notice changes in newer reprints of old comics?

I grew up in the 90s only reading Digests, ending sometime in the early 2000s. Starting in 2012, I started buying them randomly at the grocery store again, last one was 2019.

I noticed certain comics from earlier were changed in reprints.

Stuff like changing Betty & Veronicas bikinis into a one piece, changing "a record player" into "a mp3 player" (not an MP3 player).

The funniest ones are the removal of guns.

There is a Little Archie comic where him and Spotty are exploring the woods when a hunter accidentally shoots Spotty and they run away. In the reprint, they took the guns out of the hunters hands and replaced the gunshot with a bear trap snapping in front of Spotty's face.

Another one Archie, Betty and Veronica get kidnapped at gun point by some thieves. In the reprint, the guns are gone, so it looks like they are terrified of men pointing menacingly at them.

Archie Crafts

Heading backward on the Wayback Machine, I can see the Archie papercraft you could create. From a personalized poster (hanging in my room right now) to an Archie die, it all seems very interesting. What do you think of this? Also, I have provided a link so you can see what I mean.

Archie Comics: Going Downhill?

I've been a fan of Archie since late 2023 and have seen that they don't produce actual Jughead Digests these days. As if that weren't enough there's only jumbo Digests being produced. As such, I'd stick to the past comics, but I want to hear your opinions about this. Is Archie going downhill, or is it just bad changes? Mike Pellerito doesn't seem to know what he's doing.

Kellytoy Archie plush

Okay, so recently I bought a Jughead plush off of eBay for atleast $50 CAD. It was made by Kellytoy. Looking it up online seems to be a lost cause because I can't find any info on thse other than there was also Archie, Betty, Veronica and Reggie, plus the line was produced in 2005. It's official, by the way, and I DID contact the seller. However, Jughead seems to be gotten from a thrift store according to them, so it's a dead end. Below is the picture, if anyone could help I'd deeply appreciate it.

Jughead-lost his hat :(

Solicitations and Fear

So I just looked through the 2025 solicitations so far, and I've noticed a fearsome trend is continuing into from last year (I noticed this happen towards the end of 2024, not so much in the summer). A. The covers seem to be getting lazy. This isn't meant as a slight; I'll explain. The art is great, BUT there is so little art to be had. I've noticed so many covers are maybe just two or three characters on a super simple or simply blank background. I'm not sure why, or if this is a new rule. This may also have to do with the fact that I'm only seeing one or two artists working on covers and stories this year (through April) and that's it! B. A severe lack of new content. January seems okay. But I noticed lat year and in the upcoming months several digests don't have any new stories. The digests used to have two new stories after the reboot. And I don't mean the reprint digests (Showcase, Milestones), I mean the main series of digests (Archie, B&V, World of...). It's a major downer. I likely won't be buying any if they don't have new content because I'll just open and be disappointed (unless, again, it's one of the two reprint titles. Then I at least expect it. The main series, I kinda expect new content). In a world with no ongoing title of new content (where is this reboot anyway?) it's such a loss. Such a huge darn loss. Just spitballing here. Idk.

What would you consider the classic outfits or most iconic outfits for the characters?

For example, I believe Archie's is the plaid pants, the shirt with the R, the bowtie, I think you all know which outfit I'm referring to and Jughead's I believe is that blue sweatshirt with an S but I want to know what you all think

Betty and Veronica decluttering their stuff

Hey Archie fans - I remember reading an issue as a kid where Betty and Veronica realize they have too much stuff so they gather a lot of donations but end up liking each other's stuff so much that they only donate one little box. Can anyone tell me where to find it (or was it just a fever dream of mine)?

Another mystery issue

There was an issue I saw years ago where Veronica decided to get a pixie cut and people thought she was either a boy or she and Betty were a lesbian couple and she regrets the decision, I believe it came out in the 80's or 90's.

What will happen to Archie comics now that diamond comic distributors is bankrupt

As you all heard, Diamond comic distributors has gone bankrupt because of their worse decision especially that some of the major comic book industries like DC and Marvel and major indie ones like image, Boom comics and Dark Horse have their own distribution systems and have left Diamond comic distributors like with Image comics recently.

While small to medium comic book companies rely on diamond comic distributors and Archie is one of them and with Diamond comic distributors bankrupt, this leads us to discuss in the current topic, what will happen to Archie comics now that diamond comic distributors is bankrupt?

For One Brief Moment

I just got my hands on the Reggie x Betty comic "For One Brief Moment" - one of my favorites now! But I'm a little sad that this couple hasn't been explored more. I want more of them! Is there anyone else who feels the same way? Are there any fanfics of these two (if not, guess I'll go write my own lol)?

Help finding a comic - Archie gets a haircut

i remember in the issue theres like three or four stories, one where Archie visits his barber for a routine trim. The barber suggests trying a new hairstyle and shows Archie a poster with various options. As Archie considers each style, he imagines humorous scenarios of how his life would change with each haircut, ultimately deciding to stick with his classic look. and then theres a story where Mr. Lodge installs a device that alerts him whenever Archie kisses Veronica, leading to a series of comedic situations. I am not entirely sure about the details but this is what i remember.
