Kinda wanna go for a Dutch style, I’m ify though Lmk what you think!
Hi guys, I dry started my tank and im noticing that the tall grass is starting to fall over (gravity) but im unsure if i can add water just yet because the Monte Carlo is still small… should i risk it? Its been almost two weeks and its growing fast and seems quite firm in the ground so far
Hello all, This is my first big tank 240l/65gal after having a 60l/15gal. What kind of substrate would you recommend ? Im currently running a dirted tank with a sand cap on my smaller aquarium and it's running great, except the messiness when I move plants around. Feel free to share any advice about setting up and running this tank size. Thanks 😊
This is the side view of my 29 gallon tank. I am planning to get a rimless tank which will have a width about 3-4 inches wider than the stand where it will hang on the back without support. Would that be ok ?
I’m already obsessed with the way the stones came out after I smashed them.
CANT WAIT FOR THE WOOD AND PLANTS TO ARRIVE!!!!!!
Trying to start out slow, just have some shrimp and a pleco in so far as things cycle. Planning to get some purigen for the tannins
Started this tank about a month ago. Plants have been growing great. Algae exploded out of nowhere. Water parameters are great. Any tips on how to get rid of this?? I have been doing water changes every other day and taking out as much algae as I can.
I have been looking for a while with no luck. Does anyone know where I can get some Rio Xingu gravel? A company Dennerle makes some but can’t find it in the states so far.
Recently bought an old fish tank on marketplace for fairly cheap ($20 for 40 gallons). Joined this sub and got very excited without doing enough research. Bought fluval stratum, pea gravel, dragon stones and driftwood pieces. I let the hardscape sit for about a week before planting and did not test for anything other than pH. Plants have been in the tank for around 3 days now and seem healthy but im not sure what i need to be testing for or how often to do it. No living things in the tank other than plants(the crypt and hydrocotyl are going in my girlfriend’s tank). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Looking for suggestions in the top half of my tank. Foreground and middle areas look nice I think, but should I place more hard scape to fill out the top? Floaters with hanging roots? Or let the stuff in the back fill in gradually ?
Im new to aqua soils and only ever cycled tanks with inert gravel and addded ammonia. This time Im setting up a 70 liter tank using ADA Amazonia (version 2), and Im wondering what peoples opinions are on the best way to cycle it. Dark start? Or planted straight away?
I am new to the hobby so I guess I have two question:
I think it will take some time before I can start because I really want to start with bowl type (I am only putting shrimp, no fish, don't worry) and the size I want is not available near me. I really like the look of bowl aquascape.
My second idea is pearlweed (nanoscape also have tank like that) but sadly pearlweed is not available near me, I would have to order them online and it might be too risky.
I live in a Southeast Asian country if anyone is wondering.
so i'm in the throws of going from a 15G to a 30G tank. new aquascape, and new gear.
Currently looking at some of the fluval canisters - I can get one that is only a few months old for about 50% cheaper than one at selling at new price currently from someone. I've never bought second hand filters before though, and this would be my first venture into canister filters.
So... would you consider a second hand filter system to save a few $ or just go new, knowing everything is under warranty+all media is brand new too?
also, fluval seems to be the go to looking at reviews, running efficiency etc. but anyone got any alternative recommendations for that size tank?
