I don’t love this tank. It feels boring. What are some new fish I can add that have personalities? I want fun fish to watch. I currently have mollies and 2 bristlenose plecos. It’s 55 gallon.
Every wednesday I went to my grandparents after school and sometimes we painted together.
Low Tech, no co2, no filter, just few guppies in a tank.
I’m looking to buy at 12 gallon long (35.5”) nano tank to do an Iwagumi style/planted tank with minimal stocking. Maybe some chili rasboras and a few cherry/blue dream shrimp.
Would love to hear anyone’s experiences bad/good with doing long nano tanks VS standard nano tanks.
All advice and opinions are welcome!
1st week of cycling. Thinking of having apistos, chili raspbora, and dwarf Cory’s in here along with yellow shrimp already in. Is that too much for a 10 gallon?
Those of you with WRGB LED lights, do you find yourself getting any benefit from using those green LEDs other than color rendition?
Most dutch style aquascapes I see tend to focus mostly on red and blue, resulting in a slight pinkish hue to the overall scape. Or go full spectrum like in Iwagumi style
Plants and fish are thriving ~3 weeks in. Observable new growth on everything. The only places I’m noticing some beginnings of algae are on the surfaces of my accent spotlights. Tbh I think it looks just as good with them turned off. I think I’m going to let the algae eaters finish off the last little bit and then only turn those on momentarily for viewings.
What would be the better light for a low tech 24" deep tank? AI Prime 13HD Freshwater, Twinstar 600E, Finnex HLC, or Chihiros All A601?
After tons of research I grabbed this from the store. Is this fine to attach driftwood to slate with?
Hi all
Any fellow nyc aquarists know of any good reputable shops in the area aside from pacific aquarium in Manhattan? Nothing wrong with them they’re a fantastic store and the staff is great, they can just be a bit sporadic with stock. Trying to find some ember or green neon tetras atm.
What moss is this?
Had this around and I need something strong to adhere my driftwood to slate rock so it won't float off. I know its for glass but will it work for rock and wood?
Hello fish fanatics. I wanted to finally get going on my first planted aquarium. One thing that has always confused me is when people use soil, then put something like pebbles or sand on top of it while others forgo the soil and just put sand or pebbles. Also, if using soil, how to know when or if you should use root tabs. I was wondering if anyone could explain the pros and cons or why you would do one and not the other. I would greatly appreciate it, thank you!
