In recent years we've seen actual anime production committees/studios handling outsourcing of dubs themselves or are heavily involved in pushing out dubs. Two recent examples being Dandadan and Mission Yozakura Family (I guess Kaiju No. 8 kind of counts as well but Crunchyroll handled that) with both dubs being union and outsourced to Bang Zoom.
The only problem that really arises is when the show is distributed onto questionable streaming platforms, which hampers the accessibility (looking at you Toei) but for the most part I've found that Japanese companies handling dubbing themselves has yielded some great results recently for the overall quality of the dubbing unlike back in the day.
The only Japanese company that really sucks at handling dubs is Toei. Almost 0 promotion for them, putting them on download-to-own services before streaming them like 2 years after the show ends and lack of simuldubs (same day or slightly delayed). Their recent show DB Daima is suffering from this. Idk if their plan is the usual batch release on the Microsoft Store then streaming...it's puzzling. The only time they seem to get it somewhat right is when a middleman is involved.
Edit: This stemmed from my thoughts on how Dandadan's dub was being handled vs Dragon Ball Daima's dub, which is ready to be streamed might I add but isn't, and how that's affecting the engagement of the latter (idk if I'm articulating this right haha). Please feel free to share your thoughts :)

Today Netflix updated the dub credits in Baki’s first season part 1. Basically they are gonna add more languages to match the amount of dubs that Baki Hanma currently has. The date when it drops is unknown.
What’s good, so it’s been a while since I did this kinda post. It’s December now, meaning we approx 1 month or so out from next anime season. This might be a tad bit early but I wanted to get your thoughts.
These are all the non sequels that I’m PRETTY sure are not licensed atm, there might be a couple that have been licensed by sentai or someone else that I forgot so feel free to correct me. Out of all the non sequels above, assuming they’re licensed by CR, what do you think will make the cut for the simuldub list, when considering the sequels apart of next season as well as seasons that are continuing over from right now that will fill up slots?
Okay so, awhile back I did one of these posts before the backlogs got released. Is there any anime that hasn't been dubbed yet that should be if it hasn't been already and is just sitting in the backlogs?? For me personally I wonder if 'As a reincarnated aristocrat I'll use my appraisal skill to rise in the world' will be dubbed in english. I know it got a German dub but I'm surprised it wasn't english even has a season 2 in the works (to my knowledge since its already got nine EPs) here's hoping automod doesn't autotag this lmao
Ranma ½

Please tell us a little bit about what dubbed shows you've been watching for the past couple of weeks, or currently watching right now. Old or new, as long as it's dubbed we'd like to hear about it.
Anything good we should look out for? Anything bad we should try to avoid? Tell us a little bit of what you think. It's nice if you elaborate a bit on what it is you like or don't like about a show. That way your comment is useful to people who are looking for new anime to watch. :)
Writing the names of the anime in bold is nice, to make it easier for people skimming the thread to pick out the names.
Since this is also for people who are looking for new shows to watch, please use the spoilertag if you reveal any mayor plot points of the anime you are discussing (see spoilertag section in the sidebar for info on how).
To prevent low effort comments to steal the spotlight from people who put in a little bit more effort top level comments in this thread must be at least 150 characters long (roughly 3 sentences long).
You can find a list of the previous "Your week in anime dubs" posts here.
I logged into my account on MyAnimeList yesterday and the Dub, Icons that are usually there were gone. I decided to give it a day to see if it came back but nothing changed. I checked my Tampermonkey and it said it was still active, but nothing is showing up. Someone please help I don't know what to do.

I was under the impression that because of the SAG-AFTRA anime dubbing agreement, Netflix can only use US-based studios for its dubs but then this post started to make me question whether Netflix can actually use say a Canada-based studio like Ocean Studios in Vancouver for its anime dubs, as it said that Netflix uses overseas studios (such as in Montreal and the UK) for dubs of foreign live-action shows and non-Japan animation.
This is not whether Netflix will or should or must but if they even can or the SAG-AFTRA anime dubbing agreement precludes them from doing that and limits it to US-based studios.

Netflix announced via press release that the long-awaited anime adaptation of award-winning author Mokumokuren’s hit manga "The Summer Hikaru Died" is coming soon to Netflix.
Has there been any news on what's going on with the dub for the rest of the Urusei Yatsura remake? Its been wrapped up for a while and Sentai still hasn't finished the dub. Did it not do well in streaming/Blu-ray sales?
