Recentely picked up a new Hisense U7N with Google TV built-in. Am unable to play most of my files (HEVC video, AAC audio).

Have had this issue for months and months on another Google/Android TV stick.

TV Displays this message: An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.

Seeing this in the logs: Failed to stream media, client probably disconnected after 5455872 bytes: 104 - Connection reset by peer

Any solutions for this?

Files play just fine in a browser, my iPhone, and on my Roku devices.

I can't use the keyboard and search for applications.

And I can't find Google Play.

Hi guys, I have just purchased the above product but for the life of me can't get it to play dts hd master audio (its advertised as being able to). I mostly use it to plug in an external hard drive to watch movies, I've tried playing movies through vlc, Kodi and the mi box media player but the best I can get is dts, however when I play the same files on the mi box s it plays in dts hd master audio - obviously its connected to the same receiver, and into the same hdmi port. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated as I just can't work it out Cheers

I set the Xiaomi Box S 2nd Gen to "match content" and Dolby Vision Source. When I open Kodi it recognizes the mkv or MP4 file with Dolby Vision (profile 7), when I open it the TV goes to Dolby Vision but the screen goes completely black and I only hear the audio. Do you think there is a way to solve the problem?

Hi everyone, I have a problem with the Just Player app. When I go to open a file, the app only recognizes some random folders without giving me access to all the files on the hard drive. I checked the app permissions and unlike Kodi (which gives me 3 options in file permissions and I selected the one to always give access to the files), Just Player only has 2 types of permissions (allow and do not allow) and even if it gives access it does not see the files on the external hard drive.

Ho controllato i permessi delle app e a differenza di Kodi (che nei permessi ai file mi dà 3 opzioni e ho selezionato quella di dare sempre l'accesso ai file), Just Player ha solo 2 tipologie di permesso (consenti e non consenti) e pur dando l'accesso non mi vede i file sull'hard esterno.

I also enjoy YouTube Premium on my iPhone, and I understand the one subscription is good for two devices, so I decided to cast and/or connect it to my TV. I followed the connection process, entering codes, using my phone to connect the Tv and all good....well it was good for the first day or so
and now I am suddenly getting ads again.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a YouTube Premium subscription supposed to be an ad-free experience? It's mostly ad-free on my iPhone except for "still ads" for shirts and crap on some channels...no interrupting video ads at least.

It's annoying me at this point. Crisp clear photo quality, sometimes it plays 1080p movies, sometimes it simply does not.

Error codes sometimes say "media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support" on both firetv and Googletv.

Tried running a movie (Sound Of Metal, if it helps) in the media and for 1080p it says "UknownError(message=mediacodecvideorenderer error, index=0, format=format," and a list of color errors? This I changed all the settings on my TV multiple times for the display and still nothing.

From within the channel guide, is there a way to remove specific channels? Or services?

For example, I know XUMO is free, but can I just remove or opt out of Xumo channels?

What do you have connected to your tv and what do you do with it besides watching tv? All I have hooked to it is the standard Bluetooth remote and my Bluetooth headphones.

The problems are not because of my Homantics Box R 4k Pro (Android 12). But I think Google?

First problem: I am unable to hear volume very well. I have to increase my volume up to almost 100 (Max) to actually hear whatever app I'm using. I have tried just about everything I know of to correct this. I had no issue with my old Homantics Box R 4k Pro (Android 12). I have played with all the sound settings in "device> sound and advance sound" even tried forgetting my remote and setting up my remote again. But nothing. I do not have any other type of speakers... Only Stereo in my TV.

Second problem: I am unable to have "Google Home" on my cellphone, detect my Homantics Box R 4k Pro (Android 12). It did with my last one, but not this new one. I even removed the device from my list in Home.... Nothing, it just continually search for new device. I am connected through Ethernet. I have tried all of Google's Troubleshooting. Cleared the Google Home cache, restarted the device, turned my router on than off and even did a factory reset to try from scratch. Nothing works.

Any suggestions or advice would greatly be appreciated.

Hi, i am thinking about buying a google tv for my needs. I bought a android tv but i cant download nor stremio nor kodi. I was thinking about buying xiomi TV Box S 4k 2gen. Would this serve my needs?

This is my first GoogleTV and I just finished setting it up so I’m wondering if this is how it is or if there is a problem? If it is just how it is that will be extremely disappointing. What’s the point of the tab? What I want to watch is literally right there but instead I’ll have to go back to the Freeplay app? Doesn’t seem logical. What am I missing?

My 1-pix media won’t go on the Home Screen I have to go to settings then apps and open it from there ?

Been using the streamer for a little while now. I have it connected through a Denon that has Atmos. Sometimes Atmos will disappear from apps (Netflix , Prime, etc.) until I restart the unit. I have no idea what triggers it and toggling settings doesn't fix, I have to do a manual restart. Has anyone experienced this or knows what might be the issue?

For example, if I have Netflix or Prime open, is there a way to voice search in that app only and not just do the full "Google search"?

I have the 43p755 the remote it came with sounds weird and it is way too big. is there a better remote I can buy and use ideally something with air mouse

Hi guys, recently I switched my phone and my Sony google TV to both be on the same guest network, however now the popup to use the TV remote on my phone phone via google home app doesn't show up.. Is this feature only available to users not on guest network or something? Thanks heaps

Hi there my 55c745 has been stuck on the google tv boot screen for a while now ive left it overnight and nothing has changed :(. i performed a system reset a while ago and the tv was unplugged from the power during and now it just wont go past this screen, ive been looking on forums for days, TCL support wont help me because its second hand. i cant find any IMG Flash files foe this model but if anyone has any i would apprecite it so much!!!!, is there anything i can do?? cant access any TV Controls because i cant get past the forsaken screen

I want to remove the UI for the volume indicator for my Sony (google tv) device. Do you know how can I do it?

I constantly receive errors trying to update apps on my Sony TV w/ Google. I’m sure it’s a lack of storage. I mainly use an Apple TV for streaming but I like to keep my apps updated on any device. Any tips to remedy the Google TV apps update issue?

When turned off, it's availability on the LAN "wobbles" on and off randomly. The chart above is from Home Assistant. The grey bar shows periods where the TV is reachable, typically 3-8minutes at a time. In between these bars (white area) it's unavailable.

Is that a good Google tv box?

After using a Chromecast with Google TV 4K for three years, I switched to the Google TV streamer. The first thing I noticed was that the blacks in HDR and Dolby Vision content are too deep specially in DV content, making it almost unwatchable. I tried adjusting the settings, but the picture still appears too dark on the Google streamer. This is really disappointing because I can’t see the dark areas anymore, and even the bright areas seem darker. I truly want to like the Google streamer, but I am very disappointed. Additionally, I’ve encountered a significant issue where Dolby Vision often results in a black screen with most players.

Update: Disabling Dolby Vision significantly improved HDR performance, and now I am happy. HDR colors are more solid, sharp, and crisper. However, Dolby Vision still has the issue with the darkest images. .
