Be Excellent to Each Other Friendly arguments are fine, we all have our opinions and there wouldn't be much point to the discussions if we all thought exactly the same. So be respectful of each other when sharing your opinions. Swearing is ok, but name calling and derogatory remarks are not allowed.

First off I just wanna say I love Alone. One of my favorite aspects about the show is the consistency across seasons, and in my opinion the high quality video editing. I also appreciate that the producers don’t introduce half baked gimmicky ideas, but are willing to adjust the format slightly. For example season 5 where contestants were selected from non-winning contestants from seasons 1–4, and the season where contestants had to go 100 days to get the prize.
That said, I have wondered what affect it would have on contestant longevity if they were to receive a simple call or txt or some other notification, that a contestant has tapped out. No other information like who it was, or medical pull etc. just a simple “one less person” notification.
Do you think it would increase the length of time people stay out, or maybe decrease it? I think more people would tap early, but I also think it would ultimately lead to longer overall periods by the winner due to the final 3 or 4 contestants battling it out. What do you think?
I was watching one of Timber's YT videos where he talks about fire in the shelter, and says it is really not for warmth while sleeping, and once the fire is out, it is just as cold as no fire, and that you need a really good sleeping bag.
He mentioned he made a big mistake with his -60deg bag selection, and his old 0deg bag would have been much better, as the seams in his bag was very leaky, and contributed to his frostnip.
He did not want to mention the bag brand on YT, but said he'd share if asked, could not find any reference, anybody know?
Out of further interest, is there a running equipment list of products contestants loved or hated?
The one they use is both stressful and boring!
Have seen S11, Australia S02, other previous seasons, skills challenges etc, and no real interest in seeing other spin-offs. What’s next? Anyone got any info on S12?
Jordan Jonas went back to his site from Season 6 with his family >!and shows how he killed a moose!<. That guy sure has a great knowledge of bow hunting!

Edit: didn't get the trick to embed a video
If someone took up bushcraft and survival skills as a hobby, how long would it take to be skilled enough to have a decent run?
Let’s say the goal is to have this sub recognize that they are decently skilled, aren’t in over their head, but are unlikely to win.
I’m imagining a person in their 30s with a family and a job that does this with their spare time. They’re serious and dedicated but they don’t let it take over their life and aren’t imagining it as a future way to live or earn an income. They do it for enjoyment. They take courses. Practice what they learn. Assume they aren’t some sort of savant, are in above average physical shape, and grew up doing a normal amount of outdoor activity like camping and fishing.
I’m watching on Netflix and Cade’s random berry sketch was actually so funny 😆
I didn’t expect it at all
As per Facebook. I don't know how they're going to address some of the hunting limitations that made S1 such a struggle.
Got really high with my friends one time while watching Alone and had an elevator pitch they all agreed would make a great show so figured I'd post it for the hell of it, maybe somebody will see it and make it one day and send me an Amazon gift card.
The show - "Technically Alone"
You drop 10 IT people in the wilderness with no background in survival. They get a laptop, solar charger, and a starlink internet connection. They also get 10 items.
They then have to survive using what they brought and their ability to research survival techniques and solutions.
If you know, you know 😜
The whole time when Timber was eating his moose jerky on S11 and complaining that it was hurting his teeth, I kept wondering: why didn't he just put it in his pot of water to rehydrate? Am I missing something here food safety related?
Just finished season 11 episode 3. Honestly to me Peter sounds like an abusive father making up weird excuses. The way he says when he son uses emotions and he makes him stop is disturbing. Then he he made several comments disassociating himself of humans and human behaviour. It all seemed very disturbing to me, especially knowing the contestants get a lot of say in the final edit.
Adam Riley from season 9 here! Back in January I was lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks helping my friend and expedition partner, Matty Clarke, film his new show “hard north”.
If you’re a fan of outdoor survival and homesteading you’re going to love it. Check it out on Amazon prime Nov 29th.
My wife and I just watched season 7. Is it just us or does anyone else think Theresa’s “English” accent was fake a fuck?
If I don't shower 3 days I look worse than some of the folks who have been out there a month or more.
I just watched the founding of Fort Moosehead and that was hilarious. I didn't think anything was going to beat the Starvation Bay diet commercial, but this did.
Timber seems so wholesome.
I love this show.
I watched a show a long time ago that was similar to alone. They were isolated in different areas and had a set amount of gear like Alone. The big difference was they had a beacon and if it went off the show producers would come pick them up and place them in another location. It could be a completely different climate. They could be in their location for a week or a month, and they did not know when the beacon would go off. Any one remember what this show was called?
Is there any insight into the location of Season 12? It will be the anniversary season because Alone premiered in 2015.
So far I heard that it will be "something a bit new/different" meaning it could be south and not in Canada?
And sorry, probably not in Greenland previous poster.
Hello, it's probably been asked before but is there any edits where it just follows 1 person throughout the entire series?
Thanks
This is the first season I’ve watched. Why aren’t these people warming rocks and wrapping them in a cloth or something and putting them at the bottom of their sleeping bags to keep warm..will their bags melt?
So many folks had to tapped before/around day -20 and then these three crazy good survivalists last till 80+ days! Respect!
Daydreaming about my eventual run on the show and wondering what would be the best hobbies/entertainment to atave off the boredom and depression in the late days.
Whittling, singing, basket weaving depending on the environment, making additional cordage... what's everyone else think?
I recently got into the show and watched Seasons 10 and 11 and got hooked, so decided to go back to the beginning with Season 1.
What are these contestants!?
I couldn't stop laughing at the first two taps, who got scared of black bears and wolves. Do they not know anything about the animals in the place where they're dropped? I assume the selection process got better after the first season.
I haven't seen a breakdown for most screentime. Does this exist? My guess would be Dub wins with the most screen time for S11.
I thought about this watching Better Call Saul. Imagining Mike Ehrmantraut competing in Alone probably wouldn't be the most exciting pick but I think his bullheadedness and creativity in coming up with solutions make him a interesting pick. Also he is very patient so he would probably not have a hard time getting that money for his granddaughter which is his primary motivation in the show.
What character can you imagine to be interesting to watch?
Do any of the Alone contestants do survival workshops in WA state?
I just had a quick question but I only have standard Hulu and was hopping the latest season would come out soon on the platform. How much longer would I have to wait? I’m assuming there isn’t some specific time frame since it’s their most recent season.
