Be Excellent to Each Other Friendly arguments are fine, we all have our opinions and there wouldn't be much point to the discussions if we all thought exactly the same. So be respectful of each other when sharing your opinions. Swearing is ok, but name calling and derogatory remarks are not allowed.

Dies anyone know how to reliably watch the show, especially S11, in the EU?
There are a few seasons on prime and I believe some have been on Netflix, but that seems to be all. Don't mind paying a few bucks but can't find a solution.
Thanks a lot
It seems like a lot of strong competitors get taken out by constipation. What survival methods can they use to avoid it in the first place or deal with it when it arises?
First up, I don't mind spoilers.
I'm on Ep 2 now, almost Ep 3.
From the Alone vet watchers, what are your overall thoughts of S11?
I'm enjoying it so far but the arrow incident had me happy they have choppers as access...
But seriously, what are your thoughts of the season overall?
PS. Patagonia and Mongolia are probs my fave seasons, Arctic Circle looks like it could be good 2 Eps in.
Edit: Thank you all for your thoughts!! It's truly a great season (now about half way through because RL happens), I'm loving it!
Google says it is available as of June 2024 but mine in Maryland only has to season 10. i love the show but im getting tired of paying for apps that don’t include shows from their channel or a live stream of their channel included with it .
What is the closest and farthest away contestants have been from each other?
i'm not eating beaver
I absolutely love this show and have learned so much from it. I have unfortunately never been around a lot of nature growing up and never had to learn to do too much.
Is there a course or a bootcamp I can go to learn these skills? I recently moved to CA and would love to get some formal instruction around these skills. How would you guys recommend I go about doing this?
Any survival experts in here?
How come he didn't have a chimney for his fire?
Isn't that dangerous?
Also isn't this the correct strategy going forward?
No chimney will save you calories, trap heat in and will allow you to smoke your food before the winter.
This went against everything I watched so far on alone and possibly the only shelter without a chimney.
Sorry if this has been discussed before. Just now found this series on streaming. Only 1 episode in, but judging by the map, it seems like they're close enough to see each other's fires at night or run into one another on a forage.
Dave Mcintyre passed away I don't have details yet.
Ok, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna rank the Seasons from best to worst with one sentence on why.
Season 11 -- the best final three contestants the show has ever had.
Season 6 -- where the show really found its way, won by the GOAT, with other extremely strong contestants
Season 7 -- another season with one of the all time best, plus a runner up who to this day I think was unfairly pulled.
These three are obviously head and shoulders above the rest
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Season 8 -- another extremely strong season that was won by an all timer, maybe not as compelling at the Top 3 season, but very good.
Season 3 -- the best of the pre-Jonas seasons though almost not the same show as it would become post JJ.
Season 9 -- I know folks think this was dull, but I really like the way the winner adapted to a difficult situation.
Season 10 -- extremely likable bunch, suffers from just not being as dramatic as other later seasons.
Season 4 -- much maligned, but I liked it fine.
Season 2 -- very relatable winner, but again almost a different show from what they're currently making.
Season 1 -- they had no idea what they were doing, but they were trying. I'd love to see the winner back!
Season 5 -- no offense to the contestants, but pretty bad.
I’ve watched the show from the beginning and I’m fascinated by season 1. Alan Kay was truly one of a kind. But I’m curious if there’s any info out there on casting process for season 1? The evolution of the participants over the seasons has been awesome!
I usually like the women, so much more centered. less howling.
I’m definitely curious to know how all of you guys first discovered Alone, guess I’ll go first haha
for me it was actually in 2015 right after the premiere season had aired, I was only 9 at the time and believe i was coloring or something along those lines. My stepdad randomly turned on the tv and scrolled through prime, A few minutes later when pausing at Alone that cover page we all know with the wolf captured his eyes and he began reading the show’s description. Finding interest in the whole survival aspect of it plus considering we usually did things together as a family, he then invited me and my mom to give it a shot. Being a typical 9 year old city girl I kinda hesitated a bit to watch it since I assumed things related to “survival” would bore me. Nevertheless I decided to go watch it anyways with them. An upward spiral of admiration and captivation sparked in me from then on and Alone has remained my all time favorite show ever sense😁
idek if anyone’s even read this far.. but if you have let me know your own Alone discovery story!🐻
Who are some of rhd most annoying contestants you’ve seen on the show and why?
I don’t know the specific season but i really couldn’t stand that guy who built his own “washing machine” he was so full of himself and cocky that i couldn’t wait for him to tap out 😂😂.
I also didn’t like the guy who climbed up the mountain as his last “hoorah”. You’re talking about wasting energy and not having enough intake but have the energy to climb up and down a mountain? That rubbed me the wrong way.
Ima man and i don’t like cocky arrogant men cuz it comes off as them trying to compensate for something they lack.
I also didn’t like that guy in season 2 i believe where he said “if i see a bear don’t help me help the bear” when he literally tapped out within a day or 2 😂😂
I feel like it would be easy for someone to smuggle a ziplock baggie of antidepressants or something like that in their underwear.
So I’m rewatching the series and i want to talk about Amos.
I myself am from El Salvador but wasn’t born there due to the civil war (i was born in 87 the war ended in 92) so ima bit biased when i say this is prolly my favorite season. I haven’t seen the newest season so please no spoilers.
But I’m curious are there other Latinos who are fans of the show which truly rooted for him?
And for those who aren’t Latino who else was inspired by his story?
It was such a huge surprise when i first found out he was from El Salvador cuz my elders told me stories about the civil war and why they left so his story is something I’ll always appreciate.
Assuming the show followed the same basic format as previous years, contestant have been out there Alone for a while now. Coming off what was surely one of the best seasons ever, I wonder how the contestants are doing this year. Wonder how many, if any, are left as of today, and how much longer they'll go...
I was chatting with a friend about an idea regarding the structure of the show.
What if they allowed for trading between contestants? Basically they have two or three days during the whole contest where contestants are allowed to trek outside of their area to a common location to trade with other contestants if they choose to? It would be interesting to see how they would wager the cost vs benefits? On one hand they get to see other contestants and potentially get materials, supplies, and/or food if they need it. But the other hand is it could be a huge waste of energy to hike in with stuff you want to trade.
Thoughts?
"A giant just came in and destroyed my shelter and stole all my food"
Im new to the series and so this is probably beating a dead horse but what is the consensus here about those who starve it out vs those who keep actively hunting and foraging till the end? Im referring to the winner of S09 btw.
If you went on Alone what are some things you’d bring to help your survival, that others haven’t thought of bringing.
I’m new to the show lol.
I recently discovered this show. I first finished season 11 then had to go through everything starting at the beginning, I'm currently in season 6 which seems so far to be one of the best.
I'm looking forward to the rock house I've heard about in season 7. Besides that, what are the best seasons?
How are most contestants cooking their fish? Boiled, fire roasted, just laid dry in the pan?
Alone is my favorite show but i have finished everything! Does anyone have similar shows that you would recommend? It could really be anything relevant to outdoor survival, skill building, primitive medicine etc.🌲
