I have read in a forum that you can only save 1000 times on MS pedals than the flash memory goes broken, can it be true? That's a real showstopper when buying a used pedal.
I am planning to buy my first multistomp series device and saw on the firmware editor page ( https://github.com/Barsik-Barbosik/Zoom-Firmware-Editor ) that the G3 is not supported but the G3X is, how can it be? Are they so much different? To me it looks like there is just an expression pedal added.
Also it says the G3X is ZD2 models where I thought it would be ZD, since there are only three knobs per slot?
Also how cumbersome is editing and patch switching on the G3? I looked in the manual and most things seemed a bit cumbersome to me, but maybe it's good once you use it?
Release notes:
- Added Chinese language
- Added support for G1on-AK and G1Xon-K
- Added release notes to the window about the new version
- Added the ability to skip the current update
I made the planned improvements and now I can work on new functions, namely support for new models and some other things...
Hi all!
I need some help with GuitarLab.
I have a Zoom A1X Four, and tried the GuitarLab the first time. I missed some effects which is provided only trough the software and wanted to download them, but I only found them among other effects under this "<unknown>" label in the Effect pool (shown on the image).
These effects also cant downloadable.
I can't find any solution for this on other forums. Did anyone got this error? How can I fixit?
I tried factory reset on the pedal, and reinstalling the software, neither helped. Also tride the Tonelib but the A1x not supported.
Thanks!
Hi - I have a MS50G and was noticing some weird stuff with stereo panning - does anyone else have this issue? It's with the Analog chorus stereo mode and a few others. When I change the "High" parameter to attenuate some of the higher frequencies, it seems to lower the overall volume in just one channel. So EQ-wise it's more what i want, but then the stereo image is lopsided. Anyone else have this issue? or a potentially faulty unit? Any solutions you know of, or stereo chorus algorithms that don't do this?
Hi I have been using the zoom ms50g as a reverb pedal and some modulation for almost a year now and its great. I recently wanted to explore the amp sims in it and .. im not sure what im supposed to do. Im using this pedal in front of my amp. I have a ibanez tbx150r and im using a squier jazzmaster And when using the amp sims it always sounds unpleasant. However if i plug the pedal into my audio interface as an amp simulator it sounds good. What am i doing wrong here?.. how should i dial my amp so that the zoom amp sims will be the ones determining the sound? Im generally more interested in the fender ones and the vox
I have the ms 50g+ and want to download more effects but don’t know how or if u can even do it
Like what do I need? I think I have the wrong thing, I have a Bluetooth mvave chocolate midi controller.
I bought an MS70 CDR. I know i can use all the effects of the other pedals with the software. My question: What are the best (sounding) amps/overdrive/distortion effects of the other pedals that are worth installing? And which (bad) effects should be removed? Unfortunately, I can't try out the other effects beforehand?! Thanks for your help!
I hope you like it!
So, I just got my used Zoom multi-stomp and put batteries in it, but it won't turn on. Do I need to plug a guitar line into it to get it powered on?
Edit thank you everyone for the help. Also I got the device for a costume voice changer like some people use it for their Darth Vader voice to make it deeper. And I was still waiting on the microphone and adapters so I couldn't turn it on yet since I didn't have a guitar.
Hello fellow multistompers, I was considering getting the new MS-80IR+, since you can transfer effects from one MS plus unit to another with a script and this is the most complete model of the line in terms of hardware. But then I noticed that you are limited to 1 slot for an amp, 1 slot for a reverb and 1 slot for an effect (Delay/EQ), and I doubt that any homebrew software could expand those capabilities.
That's when the G2X Four caught my attention, since you have the same generation of effects, multi layer IR of the MS plus line, 7 slots for elements of your signal chain, an expression pedal, a looper, drums rhythms to practice and headphones output. All around it looks like a better deal for me.
But just like in the MS-80IR+, it looks like the preamps and cabinets are treated like combos and have to be used both at the same time.
My question is, can I split the signal between the preamp and the cabinet (like an fx loop in a physical amplifier) to modulate after the preamp on the G2X Four? Or am I forced to always modulate before the preamp overdrive? (I know I could place an overdrive pedal before the modulations and use the preamp clean, but I want both options).
I've created 20 presets using exclusively the Zoom Multistomp, inspired by iconic songs where the guitar stands out. I hope you like them!
zoom ms50g vs zoom ms70cdr?(or any other zoom ms series)
Looks like they knocked all the MS plus models down to about 100$ now on sweewater, amazon, and others. Maybe worth it now? What do you guys think , and have the modders made any progress on getting to the firmware on these models to make it more customizable like the earlier models ?
Hey all. I've used the G5N multifx pedal for a while now. I play guitar/bass/keys with a drummer, and usually we do looping stuff. Recently we've tried to add a click track in our daw and in-ear monitors, but it is very hard to get it to line up with the zoom looper. If you want the looper to follow a tempo set on the pedal to match the DAW, it forces a 4-count countdown before it starts looping, which is not ideal at all.
So now I'm trying to route the Rhythm (metronome) patch on the pedal to only come out of Output R, and send the Right Output only to in-ear monitors, while left output goes to the amps. I can't for the life of me see any settings inside the pedal, or any of the patches, that allow you to send out right vs left.
I just want to loop to a set tempo and also use in-ear monitors with a click :(
Any ideas? I use Reaper for a DAW. Any way to loop inside the daw using the Zoom G5N as a midi switch?
My brain hurts.
Hi, I'm using Zoom MS50g, I got closer with DynaFLNGR before RAT but it sounds more like Siouxsie's John McGeoch type of sound (I now, it's very close) but I can't achieve anything as this
Hey! I recently sold my Zoom MS-70CDR+ (blasphemous, I know) and found myself missing the "Loop roll" effect from the SFX section. It was so fun to use and really opened up some doors regarding creative songwriting. For reference here it is at 19:52 ALL effects / ZOOM MS-70CDR+ 空間系特化Multistomp全エフェクト弾いてみた (youtube.com)
How can I achieve this effect from, let's say, a delay pedal? I sold the Zoom so I could afford the Hotone Ampero II Stomp (I really needed a multi-fx pedal with midi and more switches) and I'm trying to recreate it with its effects but no luck so far. Any ideas?
I wanted to add some effects to my patch and I couldn't find some of them, and I double checked. Are they locked or something?
I tried controlling the MS-50G+ with a Chocolate Plus and it's not working, I've checked everything, the Chocolate Plus outputs MIDI, MS-50G+ receives MIDI from the computer, but they just don't work when connected to each other. Any one had any luck with it?
I've tried both PC commands and Sysex.
The guy I bought it from had the left input jack a little weird. Basically, the contact inside of the jack is bent inwards, so any wire would just refuse to click. Is there any way to bend it back?
Just dipping my toes with the effects but was wondering if zoom is adding new effects regularly or if there are any patches that mimic the microsynth?
I got a Zoom R12 and I found that it has a decent guitar model that can emulate some effects and amplifiers, that is called guitar lab, made by Zoom itself. There are some nice examples on the software itself, and was curious if anyone made more and shared them.
I looked around but found only the ones for the stomp hardware, not specifically for Guitar lab. Are those compatible? Thanks
(I'm working with a ZoomG1four) Pretty self-explanatory, the tone of the guitars is simple, but I'm incapable of achieving it for some reason. It’s also similar to the guitar tone in Infestissumam, but in later albums the tone gets more “modern”. The tone is kinda simple, little gain but crunchy, muddy but with clear notes. I would love to have some help, please!
Hey, I'm looking for a good delay, reverb, and modulation box.
I sold my HX Stomp because I didn't gel with it. I had a Zoom MS-70CDR which I loved because of ease of use and decent sounds. However, it had a high-pitch whine that I was unable to remove no matter what. I'm thinking of getting a TC Electronic Plethora (X3 or X5) to use primarily for my synths and sometimes guitar (less important). I'm interested in trying some of the TC pedals like Brainwaves and this is a cost-effective way.
However, I love Zoom and wouldn't mind going back to them since it'd be cheaper. So far, I didn't hear great things about the + series. I have the option of getting a used MS-60b which I hope I could hack into a 70CDR. The other option is to get a new Zoom MS-50G+, which is selling for a good price where I live.
My understanding is that the 50G+ is not yet hacked and uncertain whether it will ever be; and it offers very little reverb algorithm.
If you have any insights that could help me make a decision, please share.
Thanks!
I’m using the 70 for guitar in my live band for guitar for while now, I like having the the different chains as preset as I use very different guitar sounds for the parts and songs- low if chain with noise in intro, switching to shimmer reverb very soft for verse, then clean boost with term , then aggressive fuzz all in one song. So traditional board with pedal is less for me. I recently bought a Zoia and realised that the CDR is very degraded/ digital sounding overall especially reverbs . So now using the cdr for cab and distortion sounds only .
Wanting to go up and down the presets would be ideal, and while shopping for another Chocolate to control the cdr, I found that the MWave Blackbox is quite cheap and was wondering how are the effects sound quality compared to the Cdr, for the cabs/ amps and also the delay/reverbs Anyone here with both to share thoughts?
Three pluses for me would be: -Master volume knob because it’s so necessary live.
