Zentangle is a meditative art form that uses structured patterns (called tangles) to create beautiful, detailed artwork. It’s a practice that encourages relaxation, mindfulness, and creativity, focusing on the process rather than the outcome. No prior art experience is necessary—just pick up a pen and start tangling! Whether you’re here to share your creations, learn new techniques, or explore the world of Zentangle, this is the place to connect with like-minded enthusiasts.

This is a single type tangle I blew up and put on black canvas. Might not exactly be Zentangle but it did come from one of my patterns
I’m attending a class at my public library tonight. It’s a lesson in folding paper flowers. In case anyone wants to exchange numbers, I have a few tiles in my backpack with my contact info. I tried to pick floral tiles, and this is one of them. (From last Fall).
I wanted to do something a little different so I used metallic paint markers on a black drawing pad. I really liked doing this one because I could just keep overlapping and overlaying until I felt whole.
I was waiting around this afternoon for my dentist’s office to call me back. I picked up this Zendala tile and my pen to while away the time. This is the result. Lots of places I could improve but I really rather like it. Tangles used include Flux, Printemps, and Tipple.
I started out practicing a new tangle on this without expecting it to go anywhere and this is where it ended up
This is one of mine that I actually started back in 2013. I pulled out some of my drawing books when I started up again and decided to finish this one. It was a solid decade when I finally finished it.
It was created by Jean Chaney. I drew it from a You Tube video by Heather Hartwig Gladden. I used a Renaissance Bijou tile. Very simple but fun and commemorates the snow we had here in Central North Carolina this week. 😫
Took awhile to come up with what I wanted this to be but went with an eye instead
