Hello, I would like to visit for about a week in late March and I have a few questions about this beautiful territory.
— What cities would be good to visit? I was thinking either Dawson (from what I have read, better for aurora?) or Whitehorse (biggest city, potentially more to do?) I don't really want to rent a car, but if that is what is needed for an optimal experience I can arrange.
— What are some things you recommend doing or seeing?
— What is the weather and temperature like around that time of year? I am from northern Washington so I am used to rain/snow and chilly weather but just wanted to gauge how much I should prepare.
Thank you!
Hi I'm in Pelly and would like to deliver a package to moose creek lodge. (40×40×20cm). If anyone is driving this direction and could deliver the package for me, I'd pay him and appreciate it. Thanks ☺️
Hello /r/Yukon,
Lately, we’ve noticed an increase in heated arguments, trolling, and disrespectful comments in discussions, particularly regarding First Nations issues. As your moderators, we believe it's important to ensure that this community remains a welcoming and respectful space for everyone while encouraging thoughtful and meaningful discussion.
We’ve already issued numerous warnings and bans recently, and while we want to encourage open dialogue, users who continue to post inflammatory or disrespectful content will be banned without further notice.
Let’s revisit Rule 1: Be Respectful:

I live in Whitehorse. The used vehicle market here has very limited selection, so I'm considering going to Vancouver, Edmonton, or Calgary to buy something and drive it back. Vancouver is my first choice because I have family there.
I've read the info posted at https://yukon.ca/en/register-vehicle and am wondering if anyone who has gone through the process can clarify any of these questions about the process:
Thanks for any helpful info!
Are there any private schools in the Yukon where they just teach kids about the basics and not indoctrinate them with social ideas?
I'd like to go up north to Whitehorse with my dog from Vancouver via Air North but I am really nervous about it. Anyone here with experience? I've never flown my dog before. What is the process from start to finish? Thank you in advance!
Hello,
This might be a popular question and might have been asked number of times, so I apologize for the redundancy. But what is a best place to visit for viewing the northern lights: Dawson city, Yellowknife OR whitehorse. I am coming from California. Also, suggestions on whether i should rent a car or just book a tour.
Thanks
Does anyone know where/when the Canadian firearms safety course is offered? I am in Whitehorse.
This has come up before but I can’t find the post.
Can someone explain to me (like I’m 7 years old) why property taxes are so different from neighborhood to neighborhood in Whitehorse?? I remember hearing something about property taxes being based on value of home at the time it was built, but I may be remembering this all wrong.
I know this post pops up now and again, but the times are always changing!
After a busy Summer I've become quite a homebody of late, hoping to branch out and try new things but (as always in the north) it's tough to just google these things.
I'd love to join something physical, I've been interested in trying bouldering or joining a league (squash, hockey once I learn how to skate decent enough, basketball, anything like that). I realllyyy wanted to join the bowling league but could not find enough friends to form a team (if anyone here randomly needs a sub please reach out!)
I've played guitar since I was a kid, and would love to meet like minded people there as well. I'm also conversational at Japanese and wanted to get into that community, but the local organization doesn't seem to host often.
Really though, anything that's going on I would consider, so please throw out any suggestions for currently active clubs!
