Hi I’ve just moved to York and the paper mill smell is horrible. I need input on trying to get it out of my apartment. Apparently it is sticking to my clothes that when I met up with family out of town they could smell it on me.
What I have tried unsuccessfully: platter of vinegar, 1000 level air filter, air purifier (one that also gets rid of pollutants & smoke), activated charcoal gel scent absorber and finally onto scent absorbing gel beads.
How do you get rid of this? I’m looking to live in a mill scent free apartment.
After learning of this Canadian cuisine a month ago, I have been craving it ever since. Are there any restaurants that serve it in the York area?
Any good/honest mechanics in york pa
I recently moved to York and was wondering if anyone here has a working dog like a Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd, or German Shepherd. I have a retired explosives detection dog (German Shepherd) and am looking for clubs or training groups in the area to keep her engaged. I’ve reached out to some K9 units, but most don’t allow outside dogs to train with them.
If you're part of any sport or working dog clubs (IGP, scent work, etc.) or know of any local organizations, I’d love to hear about them!
Thanks!
Archetype Pizza recently nuked the cold cheese pizza from their menu. With DiCarlos gone, does anyone know where to get this beautiful monstrosity within 100 miles?

I’ve seen other cities doing this, can we get a list of businesses that support Trump & MAGA? That way folks know who to avoid giving their hard-earned money to.
Doing this on a throwaway account…
I am planning on leaving my husband in a couple of months… it is going to be uncomfortable and stressful because he just isn’t going to expect it…
I was wondering if there was a service that could assist in this situation… I tell him but a couple of people be there to make sure he doesn’t hinder me getting my things.
Been out of a job since July 2024 and haven't been able to get anywhere after interviews (and thats if they ever even look at my resume). I swear I've tried every place in York and have even applied to places that I don't have experience in like maid service. What gives?? I'm 22 with a high school degree and a lot of experience in retail and the public and genuinely like to socialize with customers. I've even applied for places multiple times and they're never seen. My last interview was with ulta and while the hiring manager seemed genuinely interested and excited for me I called today (they said they'd call me after the holidays) and they said the filled the positions with other candidates but apologized for not getting in touch soon enough. I always dress and groom well for my interviews (I have a few outfits specifically for interviews) and have even hid my septum to look more "professional". I try so hard and get nothing out of it. I genuinely want to work and enjoyed my positions but the same crowd that complains "nobody wants to work these days" isn't seeing that. Is just time to file for unemployment?
Edit: Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, I knew I'd get some help from my people here 🙌🏻
Do you know of a dog-friendlt store or cafe? If so, please list it here!
Looking for places that need extra hands. Can someone point me towards a resource?
Hi, I moved to York Pa over 2 years ago and I have not been able to grow my circle like at all, I only know like 4 people in this city. I would like to try to make friends with other likeminded individuals. I am 24 years old, and a female. Looking to make friends with people in a similar age, and preferably people who support equal rights and have not lost their humanity. (No trump people) I like to play video games, listen to music, play with animals, and I am open to try new things :)
Why was this post deleted?
Does anyone know where I can have a sick cat seen Monday morning?
Are there any shops or people that take 3D printing orders?
Planning to go snow tubing next Saturday but I’ve never been to either. Which one is better? Two adults, no children!
hello everyone! My name is Kali and I am a dental hygiene student who goes to LCCTC Willow Street campus in Lancaster, PA
I need patients to come in and let me clean their teeth! If you or someone you know (adult or child) needs a dental cleaning, please contact me at 2024kschreffler@student.lancasterctc.edu or PM me!
Due to the it being a learning environment, it may take a few visits! But all cleanings are $50 total
Due to Circumstances, I am moving to Pennsylvania very soon (like a matter of weeks soon). I am looking for a starting "home base" where I can live for 6 - 12 months while I get a better feel for the area and where I might end up for 4-5 years.
I've lived more or less in the same place my whole life (Utah), and I don't really know what to expect. I am looking at somewhere in the York/Lancaster/Harrisburg areas. I have two teen boys, so my priorities are:
I have a (of necessity) whirlwind trip planned for the week of 1/27 - 2/1 to see the area and hopefully find a place to live. I'd appreciate insights into any of the areas I mentioned so I can be as prepared as possible during my trip.
Edit: Thank you all for the replies. I don't need to be in any of the cities I listed themselves, so having an idea of smaller surrounding towns is very helpful.
I'll go first.
Round the Clock Diner (East York).
The Paddock (owner is a self proclaimed racist, so 99% sure he fits the bill).
That's all I got.
Our local venue, Skid Row Garage, is currently under scrutiny for the owner being involved in multiple non-consensual sexual interactions with women and purchasing alcohol for minors. If you wish to learn more, feel free to look it up on Facebook.
Just be aware of the places you are attending and who your money is going to.
Hello All, It’s tax season and I am having difficulties finding a CPA that is taking new clients. If anyone has any recommendations please share them. I kind of wished I would have searched last year for one.
If you're thinking of running for, or support people in the local school board, please remember to get started.
May is only a few months away.

Looking for some work. I’d be glad to shovel your sidewalks / driveways / cars in the street. DM me and we can figure it out! Have car and can get around but not trying to drive too far out of York city / South York area.
In the city-ish. I won't be around today and need my sidewalk cleared. I live on the corner so it would be the front and side sidewalks. I can venmo or cash app. $30?
I need recommendations from people that actually know good towns to move to in pa specifically with good school system and quiet areas.
