The Hex Murder of 1928 has rightly scored the tag as York County's crime of the 20th century. You have three guys, including two teens, killing a farmer in a remote part of the county in the days before Thanksgiving. The trio went to Rehmeyer’s Hollow to break what they believed was a malevolent spell that Nelson Rehmeyer had cast on them. Something went awry, and they killed Rehmeyer, a benevolent practitioner of the Pennsylvania Dutch practice of powwowing that combined folk religion with healing rituals. Their subsequent murder trials gained international attention when witchcraft came out in testimony and embarrassed the York County community. In the end, the work of the York County judicial system brought justice, calmed a community on edge and prompted the beginning of the end of powwowing as a common local healing practice.
Free and open to the public.
Filming starts promptly at 6pm.

Hello. Does anyone have any suggestions on auto shops that can fix an engine control module for a Scion XA 2006?
I was leaving the Giant on Carlisle Rd. Does anyone know what happened at the Lowes? There was a crowd of people and police. Just curious.
I'm Ashley. 37. She/her. Always love meeting new girlfriends for brunch and coffee and stuff! Anyone want to get some coffee or apps or something?
My fiance and I are wanting to just go to the court house to get married but we both want to take my family's last name (I have my dads last name who isnt in my life). Does anyone know if we can change our last name? Thanks!
Looking for something for my 11 year old. Preferably at a library or comic shop. He's a beginner but is really into D&D. Hopefully there is a group that meet semi-regularly. Could even do online if that's an option.
Are there any sewing clubs or groups that meet up? I know there’s Snyders and they offer classes but they don’t offer the type I think I need (and they’re kinda rude on the phone). TIA!
Edit; I didn’t find any so I made my own fb group for it. Idk how I’ll get members to join but at least I got it started!
I have been to Rockfish too many times but they seem to be the only place with more than a single type of raw oyster, if they are even on the menu. First Post had two different types but I have not been there in at least 5 years. Is there another oyster bar in the area with a legit selection? Typically like Blue Points, anything medium/high salinity.
Anyone remember Tom’s gas station in York?
Is there a sidebar or megathread with info? I can't see anything on my phone. Can someone link it please. Thanks
Does anyone know the average prices for (full-time) infant day care in the area?
I live in Dallastown and I'm looking for local or local-ish karaoke nights around here. I try Blue sky tavern on Saturdays, but it's kind of far away.
I haven't been social or left the house in years and I'd appreciate any insight. I'm trying my best to be social. I'm not even the best singer, I just enjoy it, so if it's somewhere accepting that's extra bonus points. I lack confident communication skills so karaoke is a good buffer for me.
I'm a 36 year old single woman if that helps direct any choices. Thanks for any direction. I need friends.
Hello! I work in travel healthcare and will be moving to York this weekend for my next three month assignment (possibly longer if I really like it and decide to extend). I’m very interested in meeting people and plugging myself into the social and I live a very active and adventurous lifestyle so I’m wondering if there are any clubs for runners, climbers, or anything similar…any suggestions are greatly appreciated:)
Suggestions for any sober fun for adults in-person please...
Hey everyone,
I recently moved to York, PA, and brought my retired Military Working Dog with me. She’s a German Shepherd named Calypso who served as an Explosive Detection Dog in the military. Even though she’s retired, she still has a strong drive to work and loves doing scent detection activities.
I’m wondering if anyone in the area knows of any local K9 clubs, trainers, or groups that focus on scent detection or related training. I’d love to get her involved in some sessions to keep her sharp and engaged.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
hi im looking into getting ear peircings and am looking for a local peircer ( pref really accepting of lqbtq/alt people!! )
Hello I am a York county resident living in red lion and I have a black metal band that is looking to play live shows. We have a bassist and lead guitarist and am now in search of a rhythm guitarist for live shows. The songs are very simple and atmospheric and will be easy to learn. If interested you can comment on this post or message me directly. Here is a link to the material released thus far
I apologize for the camera movement (I didn't have my tripod with me) and the audio quality (the vehicles driving by created a lot of background noise).
Hi, I'm trying to rehome my cat Kiki. I'm going to be moving soon and unfortunately I can't take her with me. Please reach out if you'd be interested in adopting or if you know of any places where I could surrender her. :d
Hi I’m looking for suggestions for garages in southern York county that do good honest annual vehicle inspections
Posting here since I can stay anonymous. So hopefully someone can help. Please I am not looking for hate towards this family who may have made some irresponsible decisions. Just help in making better decisions in the future.
My friend (50) lives with her elderly parents and cares for them. Her father (80) STILL works from home and they all survive off his income alone. She does not work and cannot due to their care being a full time responsiblity. Her father unfortunately just got the news that he has less than a year left to live from a lung disease. He will leave behind little savings, no retirement, etc. Her mother requires consistent care. And they are worried about what the future will look like following her father's passing. So we are looking for advice.
What resources can she look into to aid in the care of her mother? Are there any financial assistance programs to apply for while she tries to get back on her feet independently?
I am at a loss for advice and just want to find some way to help ensure they have a better future ahead of them. 🙏
I have two little boys (gray and dark tabby) that need homes. I'm hoping someone can give me a lead on homes for them.
I'm getting a replacement door but would like a pro to install it properly and seal it better than the current one to block out air and noise.
