First post in 2 years so hopefully some people respond! I know he used Massive and Nexus, but does he still use them?
Here’s the link if anyone’s interested! https://discord.gg/3t2nr8pfAU
I know that Plastic Girl’s intro came from Wicked Plastic by Monotix and I Was Wrong was originally Right Back by Yuri Cane ft. Kate Walsh. Any others?
Really shows how yasutaka's chord patterns and atmosphere can work across genres. Also who thinks he influenced Porter Robinson?
I've been really interested in the makeup of his songs and would love to study them more
Earlier this week I was listening to the song "Fusion" by Perfume and was struck by how much it had in common with "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails, and I immediately knew what needed to be done -- so now I've created my first-ever mashup, and I gotta say it's pretty darn awesome! There wasn't really much that even needed to be done to make the two songs fit together, although they are in SLIGHTLY different tempos, and I couldn't quite figure out how to time-stretch a few pieces to make them as perfect as I wanted... I think I did a good enough job, and I also took a few creative liberties with the lyrics while I was at it. ;-)
I made two different videos: This first one that I uploaded to Vimeo uses the original "official" video for Fusion, which is a real visual treat if you haven't seen it already:Â https://vimeo.com/387196109
I have a strong preference for that version, but when I tried uploading to YouTube the copyright detection blocked it instantly, so I made an alternate file using footage of a live performance recorded at a theater in Seattle:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Syuez5DJ7cM
Also: I'm totally new to Reddit, so forgive me if I've ignored some less-than-obvious group rules or etiquette... I probably have a bit of learning to do.
Yasutaka Nakata was the special guest at last night's Kyary Pamyu Pamyu concert in London!
He performed a couple of songs from his new album Waverunner and was dressed as a giant Gorilla!
Most of you should know that Yasutaka Nakata makes and produces songs for his own group CAPSULE, the idol group Perfume, J-POP singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and the newest solo artist Mito Natsume.
With the exception of CAPSULE's Another World and Perfume's Pick me up, all of the singles that were recently released that was made by Yasutaka Nakata which were Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's Mondai Girl, PERFUME's Relax in the City, Natsume's Maegami Kirisugita are similar in song structure.
All of them start with some sort of intro and goes to 1st verse, then pre-chorus, then chorus, then 2nd verse, then pre-chorus, then chorus, then maybe some sort of instrumental (with the exception of Maegami Kirisugita which goes to its normal transition with a slight alteration and). then chorus again (with the exception of Mondai Girl which goes to pre-chorus then chorus), then to the end.
I kinda love how he made different songs for different people but in different style, music, and lyrics but in the same song structure. To me he's AMAZING
