Hello,
I own an R6 2004. It is my first injection bike. I enjoy it, but I need some help and opinions so that I can continue to enjoy "her" =D
Symptoms: Since 2 months ago, it has sometimes started to die at red lights or even acted strangely at 2k and 4k RPMs, feeling like it wants to die. For about a week, it has started to idle roughly, sometimes staying at 1k RPM, sometimes dying, and sometimes idling normally at 1.5k. The difference when it is acting strangely is about 300 RPMs on the clock (video attached). P.S.: I know the engine is cold; it is clearly visible when it is cold. When it warms up a bit, it is not as aggressive.
What I did: I just cleaned the TPS a week ago, and it does not die anymore, but it still idles roughly.
Finally got to see it in person today. Yamaha absolutely knocked it out of the park with the design of this bike.
Bought a 2005 R6 this summer, so far didnt have any issues with it, but wondering does the engine sounds good
I’ve never owned an older bike but want to try one, apparently it was original engine. Do you guys think it would be a good purchase?
2008
Hi friends. Got my first bike! On the long list of issues, a bad fuel pump is one of them. First stop was partzilla, but they only have them for 2003+. Have found a couple off of random overseas websites (amotopart, mad hornets), eBay, Amazon, nothing that looks too promising. Was wondering if anyone has a link to the wonderland. Thanks!
Should I drain and refill? As I understand the green Yamalube is now ethylene glycol and blue Engine Ice is Propylene Glycol. I didn't run it but for 10 minutes with only half quart of the Engine Ice
Just put down a deposit on a new r9. I have never bought anything new from a dealer before, let alone line a newer platform. How long you think exhaust/aftermarket parts will take to hit the market?
Happy to be back on two wheels after 4 years though
Just bought an 08 and dont have a manual yet. Do you guys feel a difference with higher octane or is it required? Thanks
Hi there! I recently bought a used Yamaha tfx150 with 120,000km on the odometer, im unsure of it's service history. It does sound a little off, so, I'd like to give it's engine a rebuild, but, its a little difficult to find kits dedicated to it as, it wasnt a very popular bike. After some research, it seems to match the part numbers for an r15v2 which is really easy to find parts for, I'd love some advice on this.
23/24 Tracer 7 with the same problems but not on the list...
I would like to add some accent colors to the MT09-SP (2024) with vinyl stickers (blue) that I cut myself. Which color comes close to the original blue Yamaha stickers?
I've seen one post with the color blue Raspberry, would it be this one?
Timberwolf 250 (1990 or so) wouldn't run, cleaned the jets and it ran fine, then it stopped on me when I drove into my driveway, fuses are good, power is getting everywhere. Ignition coil was bad so I replaced it but it isn't getting enough of a spark to start. There is spark but it's really small. Grounds aren't spotless but they are ok. Any Ideas? I had the same issue before in June but it was the Stator, that got fixed and it ran till just the other day with this spark issue again.
I’ve got a little raptor 80 that I’ve just got running. We terribly the top end and replaced the carb. It cranks and idles great but when you try it to give it gas it gets real fluttery. If you power through and keep on the throttle it clears up and runs out great. So it’s only when you stop and attempt to go again it flutters and spits then it will run out. At this point I’m wondering if it just needs to be ridden, or does anyone recognize the problem?
Side note, someone did take the plug/baffle out of the muffler. Possibly just need to change jetting…but it runs so good outside of this take off that I’m conflicted.

So I was returning home from work yesterday and as I was turning to get to the street where I live I heard a bang and my bike started "hopping", I immediately stopped to check what the heck happened and here's the surprise. Luckily I was about a hundred meters from home so I managed to return to in safety, but honestly I'm stunned. Anybody had a similar experience and cares to share some insight on how this could have happened? Bike is a MT09 2024, and i rode for less than 1800km.
