You can now play competitive Xiangqui on Chess Remix. Chess Remix lets you play Xiangqui with the original Kanji, use western style images, movement diagrams or even set your own images for the pieces. It's a great way to play for beginners. Also a good time to join as it has just launched and you can have almost any username you want!
My ex-coach once told me there are 4 types of Xiang Qi Players:
Aggressive (Always trying to sacrifice pieces for the win/ always trying to push forward into enemy territory)
Stable (Playing more positional and more steady. Letting their opponent blunder into them)
Trickster ? Not too sure for this one (Playing trap lines to win opponent)
Mindless (Anyhow play)
I myself am an aggressive player but the mindless playstyle kicks in after the third game...
So comment down what is your playstyle like!
Hi everyone,
I haven't played in a very long time. I was a kid when my grandfather taught me. I have a question about an interaction in an app I have. In the first picture, I am able to take the middle pawn, and I do so.
In the second picture, they move their cannon to threaten mine, but I can't take it. Why is this? What rule prevents me from taking their cannon here?
I mean 2d digital is the fully flat 2d type where we see or play in computer or phone.
I just couldn't get started and lost interest very fast when looking them, doesn't matter if I am playing or watching.
Recently found there is a youtuber who explain using physical pieces with magnet and I am hooked.
Hi, I've seen a few posts asking about App and Resources such as App and resources, and An offline Xiangqi prog for Windows, It's so difficult to find resources, etc.
And I've been recently developing and doing web scraping and translation from Chinese to English and Vietnamese for Xiangqi learning materials.
Currently I'm targeting Windows only because it's quicker to develop and debug and publish, but I can publish APKs for your custom installation on your Android devices if there are enough requests.
The Apps have 3 languages as mentioned above. Please note that the translation is not perfect, but should be enough to understand what is going on.
If you could take a look and let me know if that is what you are looking for, for example:
Question in title.
Here's my reason:
I play Xiang Qi because it's my childhood while growing up here in Singapore. I particularly like how the canons move and how aggressive the game can become with all the tactical sacrifices. It's also an extremely deep game. I've been playing it for a decade already and I'm still learning new concepts from the games.
While the player base is small here, I'm hoping this game could be more popular with newer better platforms to play in. Hopefully with my content, more people will be drawn to it haha.
Hi guys! Just curious about what type of openings do you guys play as Red.
