How can I flesh out my essay on nudist beaches

So far I have:

  • a page about how unhelpful it is to refer to the homeless of this community 'a bum'

  • one about the confusion being caused by the term barely legal in naturist porn

  • and lastly an interesting segue into the decline in popularity of poultry in nudist homesteading, quite literally cock out if you will

What is this type of wordplay called?

The example:

A: I just LOVE dragon boating..
B: What does that mean?
A: [gives definition of the word 'that']

The example of this shows someone using a pronoun to substitute a word, but when asked about the pronoun, it's answered directly. Not sure what to call this or if there is a word for doing this.

I'm wanting to get a couple of joke t-shirts made up for a friend who loves innuendos

One will be this :

"That's what" - She

And for another I was thinking:

I'm in your (noun) (verb)ing your (noun2) OR (noun)

Any thoughts? Funny/not funny? Which noun option? Wrong subreddit? 🫡

If you swap around the o's and p's in "opposite", or make them opposites of eachother...

...then "opposite" becomes "poopsite"

Anyone have a jocular, hyper-masculine way of referring to their "yoga mat" instead of actually calling it a yoga mat?

We have "today" and "tomorrow" but nothing for weeks. Proposing: "thweek", "neek", and "preek"

English has single words for days (today/tomorrow/yesterday) but nothing for weeks. Some proposals:thweek = this weekneek = next weekpreek = previous weekExamples in use:"The deadline is thweek""Meeting scheduled for neek""Report from preek needs review"Thoughts? Other suggestions?

Technically, Sporange is a word that rhymes with orange, so we don't need to say that there is no word that rhymes with orange

Sporange means a rare type of sporangium or a part of a fungus

Quite (perhaps undeservedly) pleased with my new Ko-fi username

I've just set up a Ko-fi account for the first time because I've been writing poetry for a little while now, and it seems like a good way for people who appreciate my poetry to show their appreciation.

https://ko-fi.com/arnoldcyberbeggar

I'm pleased with that. And the fact that I posted it here, hoping people would click and donate based on this post, also makes it a self-referential meta joke if I'm not mistaken. Double points! I'm a little bit drunk.

Halloween-ish puns…

Was musing on a theme of “hobbies for Halloween/horror characters/monsters”

Bodybuilding for Dr Frankenstein, for example.

Any others?

Random Reddit usernames

What are some fun or strange randomly-generated Reddit usernames you have seen or generated yourself? (Two words + numbers). You don't need to give the full thing, of course.

Freestyle - the daily rhyming word game - now with a 650,000+ word rhyming dictionary

Hey r/wordplay fam,

About a month ago, we posted here sharing Freestyle, a rhyming word game available at playfreestyle.co. Since then, we've received a lot of great feedback (THANK YOU!); the biggest was around the quality of the words/word availability. Soon after posting, we expanded the dictionary to about ~500,000 words. Since then, we’ve expanded the dictionary again, this time by 30%, increasing the word count from 500k to 650k words (we haven't verified but this is probably at least one of the largest if not the largest rhyming dictionaries on the internet)

What this means is there are more rhyming options and opportunities to maximize scores. For those of you who love esoteric words or just want to hit higher syllable counts, this update is definitely for you.

PS: If you haven’t played before, Freestyle is a daily word game where you come up with 13 rhyming words for the daily word, and your score is based on the total syllables from your answers. With the expanded dictionary, there’s even more opportunity to land a spot on the daily leaderboard with a top 5 high score.

Feel free to check it out and let us know what you think! Thanks as always for playing freestyle 🙏

The Comm-Bat Drone!

Comm-Bat! A Comm-Bat is a drone built by Bruce Wayne. Indistinguishable from a normal bat from afar, the Comm-Bat is a drone used to relay messages to allies of the Bat-Man when he is too busy to meet them face-to-face. Comm-Bat is shorthand for Communications Bat. A fitting name for the Dark Knight.
