I'm new to the world of snow chains so I have a couple of questions. To start, let's talk about my vehicle. I have a full size Chevy crew cab truck with 4x4. That being said, I see that there are two different styles on the market. Chain style and cable style. I'm wondering if the cable style is made primarily for passenger cars and lighter vehicles. Question time
Also I have 20" wheels on my vehicle. When it comes to the chain sizes, I've noticed that the sizes are specific when detailing wheel size. How important is it that the chains are rated for that wheel size? For instance, what problems would arise if I used a chain meant for a 275/55-R17 when my truck has a 275/55-R20 on it? Thanks in advance!
