The city has proposed a property tax increase in the next budget. I don't see how this ends because there pension liabilities are increasing exponentially
I put together a neighborhood guide of everything I enjoyed in Wicker Park
Detailed thoughts are here: https://www.lonnylikes.com/p/everything-good-in-wicker-park
Google maps guide is here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1isAEnc7dFaPApb_js1YRtXr4JLu4CB0&ll=41.9074582545409%2C-87.67630795000002&z=15
I hope people find this useful
Just message the owner colin@wickerparkfitness.com that you went to Burning Man this year and he'll set you up with a free membership.
The gym is notoriously small and packed during peak hours, but free is free. Their online reviews are full of people aaying they continued getting charged after they cancelled their memberships, so free is the only way to go to this gym.
Please contact me on reddit or contact Near North Montessori if you have found this drone.
Any recs for good Halloween themed bars for this weekend?
Hi hi! I’m planning my best friend’s bachelorette party and we’re staying in WickerPark. I’m looking for suggestions of things to do! Bars, brunch spots, dinner places, maybe an activity of sorts that comes to the house or that we could go to! Your help would be much appreciated I haven’t been to Chicago as an adult. Thanks in advance!
Howdy 👋🏼
My cousin and I will be visiting from Louisiana in late October and want to checkout Wicker Park the Saturday before Halloween.
Any suggestions on where to eat or what to checkout? Thanks!
EDIT: Thank y’all for all the suggestions! Can’t wait to get over there this weekend!
Legitimately curious. Are they really just selling cake? Is it good? Do I need to try it? Seems like a lot of effort for very little return. Is it a social media thing? Please enlighten me!
My partner (23) and I (22) are staying in Ukrainian village for a mini vacation in September. We have been trying to find things to do either there or in the surrounding neighborhoods, but I thought it’d be best to just ask you guys. We aren’t trying to spend a ton of money, so cheaper suggestions would be appreciated. We are into anything vintage, thrift shops, live music, dancing, bars, and good food lol.
The only reason i'm considering going is for the headlining band at 9pm. I'd probably get there right before. I'm trying to gauge if it's even worth going or not. All of the years i've gone it's been so packed in, like literal sardines. Do yall think I even have a chance of being able to visibly see the band?

A group of girlfriends (25-29) and I are looking to have a girls night out in Wicker/West Town! Hoping for any recs with good music, fun vibes, maybe a DJ, not a club scene but not a dive. I’ve been hearing Revel Room but would appreciate any other insight!
We own a Chicago split block condo built in the early 2000’s. After heavy rainfall water leaks from above our glass block windows. In the last year, we’ve had the window resealed and the wall tuck-pointed and seal. This fixed one window, but the other continues to leak. Does anyone have any ideas what else we can do?! Or know a contractor in the Chicago area who can help?!
cross posted in the Chicago subreddit. Found small chihuahua at Augusta and Wolcott. Seems older. Not micro chipped and no collar.
Please reach out if you think you might know this dog

I'm trying to do something special for my Grandfather-in-law's upcoming birthday. Their family used to own a bar (Clem's Place) at Wabansia and Honore (across the street from Club Lucky) during 1945-1955 and they have no exterior photos of the time. I'm trying to turn over every stone to find any leads for photos of the area or, of the bar itself (preferable). Does anyone have any suggestions or leads? My next step is to reach out to the CPL and see if they may have any leads. Thanks!
White Coat, mixed breed. About 40 lbs. Medium size - very sweet demeanor.
Let me know if anyone sees her in Wicker Park. She wandered away around 7p Friday night.
Hi all, curious if anyone has extra tickets to grilled cheese fest tomorrow, 4/20. The Facebook event is unfortunately riddled with scammers:(
Where are people buying their flowers? I LOVED that place because of how sweet the employees are, the custom arrangements, and how affordable it was. Where is everyone going now that they’re gone?
I will be in town Friday night and am wondering what kind of stuff I could to to keep busy in the evening. Interested in shows, events, stand up, music, bars, cool stores, anything that's open past 7pm
Did anyone see a post about Trader Joe’s coming to WP? I swear I saw something on Instagram yesterday but can’t find any info online.
Looks pretty dead.
Is there some other spot for WP/Bucktown news and discussion?
