Jeez, anyone over 40in here?

I ran across this sub, while randomly surfing. I grew up in WF back in the early 70s. Thought, wow maybe some talk about the "old" days . Guess not.

Grew up in WF in early 70s

Grew up in Bonnie Homes early 70s. Does anyone have any pictures of the "white tornado" that you're up a barn on the hill across from what's now the water park? Or the monarch butterfly migration, or the dust storms that came in from Oklahoma? Or tenebrous anything about the plane that crashed on the south end of the neighborhood?

Saturday only work?

I need money to save for college and other things that I will need for a career. I am a senior in high school in the IB program and band. I only have one free day a week, and that is Saturday. Is there any places that are hiring that are only open Saturdays? Or any places that would hire high schoolers only working 1 day a week? I don't care too much about how much it pays.

Xennials

I’m married with kids. Live in the area and have been here for a long time. Any suggestions on how to make friends with other homebody stoners who don’t like to drink or stay up late into the night? I am thinking morning coffee and farmers market stoner buddies to hang out with on the weekend. Or after work street tacos and a smoke session driving around or walking in a wooded area where you can get away with it. It seems like all the social events I see have to do with poisoning yourself in large groups late at night, and I just don’t like that. We no longer have a Hastings to find one another in.

Van or rv

Do people around there live in a van or rv on their own property? The code and permit office said it was illegal and if so is it enforced?

Road Test New Driver

My daughter can't take the driving test in our home town for 45 days. We had everything completed and went to take it and realized she took the adult Impact test instead of the teen one, and the earliest appointment to reschedule is late October. I can get her in to drive in Wichita Falls, but we are not as familiar with that area. We will go that morning and practice, but wanted to double check on any tricky areas in addition to the school zone I have seen mentioned. Will she get on and off the freeway?

Legacy HS had It's 1st overdose yesterday

I am one of the seniors at the new Legacy high school, and yesterday during 3rd period we heard sirens, and say people carrying a person out in a wheelchair next to an empty stretcher. I do not know anything else about this other than word of mouth, but people said that his girlfriend was in the room and told EMS "Not gonna lie, he kinda looks dead"

I was hoping that in a new building people would act right, but there are still fights and people doing drugs, and all the same stuff. I'm tired of going to the bathroom, and there being a horde of 5+ people all hanging out in it, or there being napkins stuffed into the urinals, and peoples lunch plates being thrown away in the sink. Someone took the splash guards out of the urinals and placed them on top, in a bathroom with no paper towels(most of them have none) so they probably just used their hands. Some students have seen staff in the restroom leave without even washing their hands. Something needs to be done, and I think it's just a problem of a lot of these kids need to be raised right. They need parents who teach them to respect their teachers, fellow students, and building.

The school isn't all horrible, we have some great staff, and the students in honors and IB/AP are WAY better. We have an overabundance of extracurriculars and sports, plenty of opportunity, but people don't use it. I've heard the same crap about many other high schools, but I think we should just be better than this. I am SICK of this. They had to have Narcan at KIRBY MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!

I don't really have a way to end this rant other than saying that something big needs to be changed, and quick, or this won't be the only overdose at Legacy High School.

Planning on moving to WF

My girlfriend and I are planning on moving to Wichita Falls sometime soon, in the fall at least. We’ve been looking at apartments and have been seeing fairly good reviews for Park Place but I was wondering if anyone here has heard anything about the complex or if anyone lives there and has opinions on it.

We’re also open to other recommendations, if anyone could help out. Or budget is around $800-900 a month rent. TIA!

Researching moving there

Hello I'm thinking about relocating to wichitafalls in the next couple of years and in doing online searches I've seen a drought problem with wells drying up. Is there truth to this have you had a well or know someone who's well is dried up?
