Me and my partner and my friend are trying to get guide positions at the same company for next summer, we've worked together in the industry for 2 years and 3 years respectively. Is there a way to increase the odds of us all getting the same job or is it just hope and pray, apply to as many companies as possible kind of thing? love to hear people's input, thank you! - US/Canada
Does anyone here rent PFDs for their paddle sports or whitewater outings/activities? Where can I rent one? How are the rental PFDs are they a good fit and offer decent storage? Specifically, is the fit good for women, bustier women, or broader-chest males?
Some shredding on the lower Ulvaa, Ridderspranget and on the Raundalselvi. Classics of Norway combined with part 1 !
Looking for some insights into the Jackson Flow large from those that have paddled it. I see lots of reviews for the medium, but the only thing I can find on the large is a review from Jackson sponsored paddlers. I'm 190 pounds, 6'4", so definitely between sizes (M = 130-190; L = 180-260). I'm an intermediate-advanced older boater (50+), currently paddle the Machno (M) and Gangsta for multi-days.

My wife, I and 10 year old kid are considering a multi-day rafting trip next year (mid July). We haven't rafted before and are hoping to create a memorable experience for the kid. We are considering the above guided trips based on our lack of experience. Could you please provide input on which might be better based on the time (mid July) and other conditions?
Will there be lots of mosquitoes on Deso at that time? Are there sandy beaches on Deso?
Based on my research it appears that Lower Salmon is popular for families. Should we pick this?
Gates of Lodore looks interesting. But is it not as good as the other two for families?
Anything else we need to consider?
Appreciate all your help!
What do you think are the most important things to practice/ work on for fast progression? Things that will take a class 4 boater to becoming confident in class 5? Any drills or specific things to really dial in? Everyone always says to upclass your local class 2/3, but haven’t found that to be useful at all. I personally have only found this to translate when your already doing something near your comfort level and you take the spicy line that deal with bigger /more powerful features, trickier boofs etc rather than some class 2 attainment. Having said all that, maybe I am not finding the ways to translate that to harder whitewater? Any tips for that as well? Really just looking for the best ways to get locked in for a season of sending.
I only own a playboat and a half-slice. Looking to get into self-support trips. Since neither of my boats are viable options for hauling the required gear, it'd be great to get you nerd's input on the matter. A down-to-earth, grade 5 boater friend had commented that very sharp chined boats struggle under load (I trust their opinion very much). I weigh 75-77kg/165-170lb, have a size 43eu/10us shoe, and am 190cm/6'3" tall. What are the community's thoughts on options for grade 3-4 self-support creekers?
Fun run, with lots of swims. There was no swim after this. Nor before.
Hello to all!
I am looking to get a whitewater kayak! I have recently gotten into the sport, and I need to buy my own boat. I currently use one from work and it is a Liquidlogic Remix 47. I know they aren't the best boats, but I want a simi -full slice boat or a full slice. The reason being is that if I have a harder boat to start out with, I will be a better yaker. I have used my boss's person boat, it was a medium, and I loved it! I am not sure what brand it was. I just need help looking for good boats!
I am struggling to find boats on Facebook Marketplace due to the fact I am so tall, and most boats I am seeing are small boats.
So I recently got a Hydrus dry suit from kokotat and I was as wondering if it’s normal to get a little damp in a dry suit? I know I was a tad sweaty but nothing excessive. I played my way down the river and spent a lot of time getting in and out of my boat to help drain boats. The gaskets are good no holes or tears and I’ve looked up and down the suit no hole or cuts (it’s brand new). Is it normal to still be a tad wet, I’m not soaked or anything just wanted to see if that’s normal! Thanks y’all!
Thinking of planning a long road trip in Europe next year, going to see Paris, Rome etc . Are there any Ocoee / Gauley type runs that we could rent boats and run?
I am a beginner and have gone white water rafting twice in my life. I don’t know much about it except what they taught. Both full day trips were two of the best days of my life. I went on I believe the Colorado River near Salinas, CO but I was a teen and don’t remember the details. Two years ago I went up to Oregon/Washington and did a rafting trip on the rogue or Klamath.
I am planning a trip up the west coast to Olympic national, then east to glacier national then back to Northern California. I would like to go rafting once or even multiple times on this trip. I tried to do my own research but I am out of my depth.
Should I do the Klamath rogue area again? I heard they moved a dam or something. Can anyone recommend any other good rapid or places whether in oregon, Washington or even Midwest in June 2025? I know weather and water levels will play in just looking for anywhere to start. Thanks.
The Wenatchee and Rogue seem good from the research I tried.

I have this backpack:

I am looking to upgrade to a dryer solution for my kayak fishing needs. Do the storage Liters translate directly, that if the backpack I have is 34 liters and i currently use every bit of that storage do I need the same or greater capacity in a dry bag or does the lack of compartments and fabric taking up less space in the dry bag allow me to bump it down to a 30 or even 25 L? I am looking at something like this:

It’s my partners 70th and I’d love to surprise her with a beautiful and fun getaway. Maybe even near the wineries. We are new to the state and don’t know it at all.
I’m researching Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) and exploring some of the challenges users face regarding fit, mobility, and storage. Are there any particular issues with current PFDs on the market in these areas? Additionally, what essential items do you need accessible while wearing a PFD? Have you found the existing storage compartments challenging to access, especially in high-risk situations during whitewater rafting or kayaking?
Last years final Hoorah before the Dam removal. 18 rapids included with titles. First ever Spud run on the Upper Klamath (Hell's Corner) section.
I'm paddling a ww canoe and am looking for something that will a) protect the top and bottom of the feet, b) provide traction, and c) won't put my feet to sleep.

On American Whitewater’s website, the river info map page used to let you switch between showing the river section ratings and the current runnable flows. Now the only selectable option is tops or satellite. Anyone know what’s up?
Hello! My bf and I have been together for about 6 months now and he is big into whitewater rafting. He was a guide for a while and now does whitewater kayaking and rafting (I’m sorry if my terminology is weak, I’m new to this world!)
He had mentioned getting an air pump (possibly craftsman) that he can take with him and fill his raft so he doesn’t have to by hand. Would anyone know what he’s talking about and help me find it? If not craftsman then any recommendations on one I can get him for Christmas? Thank you in advance!
If you've ever paddled the Noli, you'll know how beautiful it is. However, it's currently being completely excavated without regard for natural waterways, local aquatic life, or environmental conservation. If you have the time and want to prevent the degradation of one of my favorite natural flow rivers in the Southeast, please fill this out (and/or share it with any paddlers who might care). Thank you.
Thanks to the page, I’ve been going through my trips, and came across this fun run.
Felt like there was no water, and we had a blast! Pulling from eddies and in between rocks to keep strait. I also needed to give a crash course in bow guiding, something I hadn’t don’t since 2003, when messing around on the Ottawa.
Hope you enjoy.
I edited the first part from Norway including Amot, Jori and Rauma. Enjoy the video, leave your thoughts!
Wave Shaper Island in Uptown/Downtown Columbus, GA has been closed until further notice. Does anyone know why?
Looking to buy a new(or secondhand) kayak, following on from a Mamba 8.1 - any recommendations? I’m 165cm tall and weigh 70-75kg, and have an injury that can cause numbness to legs so need space to move them every so often!! Currently solid paddling at Grade 3 and aiming to continue improving to higher grades
