S1 e3 bat bomb

They are explaining the bat bomb being used over japan 1943/1944 being dropped by a b-52 bomber. Only issue is that plane wasnt even an idea until after the war.

S01E08 Temuera morrison voice as the space police in the intro?

Sounds like him to me, but haven't seen any credit to who's the voice actor. Anybody know?

Hover board episode

While watching the "Where Is My Hover Board?" episode I thought it would have been really cool to see Grant talking to Collin Furze about his hover bike. The Furze made a hella dangerous one but it would have been cool to see Grant taking it up and making it safer and more practical. Just my thoughts though.

I really want them to succeed, but for that to happen things need to change. It would be nice they focused more on the hardcore nerd/geek crowd.

Is the intro and outro song have a longer version or is it part of another song?

If so does someone know it and could tell me what it is

What is that drone?

They've used it in several episodes, it's almost like a model helicopter with drone props.

The one Kari was shooting at in ep 7 to the Discount Attenborough narration

White Rabbit; a great idea heavily constrained by its own format.

I think the major problem with this show is that it's trying too hard to constrain each episode to a specific format, when the episodes are so different in concept. It causes some episodes to feel rushed, some to feel drawn out, and it's overall awkward. Mythbusters worked because it was loose and manipulable, but they have no wiggle room here. Furthermore, they seemed like they couldn't decide what direction to take the show in. Some episodes are theatrical, like Prison Break, Heist and Scam Artist, the rest are... different. The episodes don't feel like a part of the same show.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed each episode, even with how all over the place as they were. I sincerely hope this isn't it for White Rabbit Project. I hope they bring it back, iron out the kinks, and knock our socks off next season.

Episode 6 about g forces mistake?

In the show they claim that the blue angels take 10 gs. That isn't true and the aircraft's designed load factor is only 7.6 gs. They might have mentioned that. Or the fact that the f-16s in the Thunderbirds have a designed load factor of 9 gs.

The first episode was a big bait-and-switch?

Watched the first episode. Some of the acting parts were eh. But overall enjoyed it, looked forward to the rest. It looked like it was continuing Myth Busters, but adding a twist to make it unique. Cool.

Then episode 2, where it was nothing but dramatic reenactments with maybe one experiment/test performed? Episode 3 the same but with no experiments/tests?

By episode 4 I just started fastforwarding through, looking at what the thumbnail looked like on the timeline to see if the thumbnail was acting or experiments. And it looked like there wasn't a single one.

I don't have a problem if they want to do something that isn't Myth Busters. That's perfectly understandable. But the first episode of this series made it look like it would be a lot different than the rest of it turned out.

TL;DR - first episode involved experiments/building things, then they stopped doing that.

The Jokes are WAY to forced

Overall, I think the show has a lot of potential, but like all things when they start out it needs things to be ironed out. The biggest issue for me, and you all may disagree, but I think that the jokes just try to too hard to be funny. Mythbusters was funny because not everything was staged, but here it feels too scripted. How do you guys feel?

Should there be a weekly episode discussion?

There is a fair bit of things I want to talk about for each episode but I don't want to start a new thread for. Should we make separate threads for each episode discussions? Not even weekly but maybe just a stickied post on the front page of the subreddit with links to separate episode discussion threads?

This is the only place where the weekly episode works better because it is easier to discuss stuff about the previous episode, you have an entire week to talk about an episode.

Speed Freaks Episode

While watching this episode and seeing the skydiver, I was wondering why the Red Bull Stratos jumper was never mentioned? Seems pretty relevant to this episode in particular.

This show has so much potential but it needs a few adjustments

Seeing the trio back together again was like watching an episode of Top Gear. 3 faces you know and love, ready to see what trouble they get in and watching them riff off each other. And blow some stuff up.

The only problem with this is that both shows, while clearly scripted, WRP is a little over produced. There's a line between seeing something and feeling like you can be there, and a studio with weird lighting, fake computers, and made up conversations.

This is why the on sight segments are so much cooler looking. They seem real. We go to these peoples home bases, on location, and want to be there. We want to talk to them, we want to share a beer with them. No funny sets, no colored lights, no forced jokes. Just real stuff.

The scripted part seems a little TOO scripted. Their personalities are enough. We know them, we love them. Don't put them in a box. Let them riff. It's part of what makes shows like this great. It feels a little "Safe" right now and trying to pander to an audience they want rather than letting the audience find them.

Nothing crushed me (and i'm sure many of us) more than seeing the trio leave Mythbusters. Seeing them together again was like a cold glass of water on a hot summers day. Ready for the journey. I'm still going to give this show a chance to find it's legs because they're worth it.

EDIT: and I wanna see a guest appearance with Jamie and Adam

Has anyone here seen Dr Horribles Sing Along Blog?

In the first episode of the White Rabbit Project, Grant dressed up like Dr Horrible to work on his freeze ray. I thought it was awesome reference, though not quite accurate... In Dr Horrible, he is building a freeze ray to freeze time, unlike Johnny Snow, his not so nemesis.

Michael Ravenwood's Shoulder Holster Bags From S1E1's Telsa Coil part with Tory

I apologize if this is slightly off topic, but I just watched the first episode and really liked the leather shoulder holster bags that Michael Ravenwood, the lightning performing, was wearing during the Tesla Coil part with Tory.

Anybody have any idea what it is actually called and where I might get one?

They need a shop.

Whenever they're actually building something, it seems like they just set up in a random warehouse and go to town. Not to mention the 'recap' area. It feels like the interior of a car commercial.

The shop, or M5, had a lot of character, and while I know that it got that way after years of Adam and Jamie doing special-effects work there, the new show still needs something like it. It would give them a place to actually do builds, and give the show some much needed substance. I remember watching Mythbusters as a kid and being mesmerized by the endless tuperware racks of stuff in M5, I'd much rather see that than hexagon-tables and CGI Skype.

Kinda hated the first episode. But loved ep 2, 3 and 4

One you get over the fact that it's NOT mythbusters and it's not trying to be. I really enjoy the show. Great work guys.

I hope they change everything about the show

I think a lot of viewers like me are falling into the trap of thinking this was supposed to be the new mythbusters. It's not at all. I don't think it is trying to be either.

I see the series going one of two ways. The first is it could continue to be as it is and alienate the old mythbusters viewers. This is fine but seems like a waste of the built-in viewership that came with the build team. As it stands it is your typical History Channel kind of show that no one really watches religiously but can usually get a couple seasons in.

Alternatively they could change around the show a bit to keep some of that mythbusters base. That would consist of showing more of the build process, showing more of the science, researching a bit more, and most importantly put the three of them together. The best parts are when the three are in the same room unscripted. But this show is the opposite of that. I guess we'll see!
