We know of the Bermuda Triangle, but no one warned us (or the birds) about this…

The all-pervading blackness derives from the overhanging Pisonia trees with their glutinous mass of sticky seeds, which stifle all competing vegetation - and also the birds, who become engulfed in the encroaching quicksand of tiny globules. A rash touch, a bold landing on what seemed like a solid surface, and they are lost.

No humans come here. The sailors say it is too dangerous to land a boat, and perhaps they are right. After all, the sticky seeds are everywhere. 

So perhaps it will be this way for ever and ever.
