This subreddit is way of communication for those of us who are participating in the Walt Disney World College Program. Hopefully we can use this subreddit while we are enrolled, as a means to discuss events, meet ups, work schedules, etc. We also welcome all prospective students and veterans.

If anyone needs CP, CS, or CRP tips let me know. Former CS/CP here☀️
The main dcp subreddit seems to have some really rude members who answer questions in a seemingly snarky way… I dunno if they’re just preparing us for how some guests will talk to us but 😂 I’d rather ask my questions somewhere with a little more kindness!
this is my first reddit post. I believe there may have been other posts on this topic, so I am sorry to re-iterate from previous posts. My children, 5 and 7 had never seems the magic kingdom fireworks before tonight. two tall adults put two large children on their shoulders directly in front of us so we couldn't see. both my kids got upset and barely saw anything.my kids were very vocal about not being able to see but the families ignored them. I still feel furious about this experience. Am I wrong to feel like they violated an unspoken ethical code ... to show some consideration for people around you. It seems like the fireworks are survival of the fittest and it this type.of experience lessens the magic!
I’m considering a position with WDW and was curious about the park admission benefits of salaried castmembers vs hourly. I’ve worked for Disney before in an hourly role, but never salaried and was curious to know. Also, do you get a bank of PTO time when you start immediately or are you required to accrue it?
Thanks!
What’s the bar scene like down in Orlando?
Hello guys, I’m about to choose my housing complex and I was wondering if the 4 person rooms in vista way have one or two bathrooms. Is it worth it? Thank you!
Hi all,
I have been offered a position and have completed step one of accepting the offer, but step two (Paying the housing fees on the DORMS site) is causing me some trouble. I haven't logged on to the DORMS site before so I sent a request for a temporary password and the site said my request was successful. I go into my inbox and it isn't there, the spam folder and the promotions folder on gmail are all empty. I have received email correspondence from the DCP before, and my blocked email list is empty. I have repeated this at least 8 times.
My deadline for completing all three steps is today at 11:52AM, and I have emailed the DORMS Tech Support and the DCP requesting assistance and an extension for the acceptance.
Is anyone else having issues with it right now/have any other suggestions??
I found out today that sexual offenders and predators are allowed in the park if they just buy a one day ticket. They are only flagged if they buy an annual pass.
Hey all! I'm from Canada and I'm doing the Disney CEP this summer. I got the role of recreation attractions, and I was wondering if anyone here has done it and can provide me with some more information on the role. There's not a lot of information online
Is anyone on here going to the CPAlumni events in January 2018? I was on the WDWCP in the Fall of 2000 and worked as a lifeguard at The All Star Resort. Hope to see some of you there.
Hi Disney lovers! I'm a Canadian who has wanted to do the DCP for two years and, in a year from now, I'll finally be old enough to apply! However, the INTERNATIONAL program website seems a little more confusing than the USA one and I'm having difficulty understanding the process for those who aren't American. Please please help a girl out! :) I'd love to find someone I can have a quick conversation with and ask my questions to.
Have a magical day!
I worked custodial at a resort during Fall 2016 and picked up shifts at the parks throughout the program. I loved my time working custodial despite all the....gross.
I'd love to answer any questions about the role!
Here's my channel in case anyone's interested: http://YouTube.com/tarafied
Hello! I'm very new to this, so maybe this question has already been asked before... I'm trying to apply for the college program, but every time I click the 'Apply' but it just says something like '0 jobs found'. Does this mean they aren't taking applications anymore? Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm probably just being dumb here.
Hey all, not sure if this goes here but I was just accepted into the Disney Professional Interns program for Fall 2017 and I'm trying to see if there's a reddit for that just like the college program. Does anyone know?
Hi guys! I applied to the college program about a week ago and I still haven't heard anything back. I'm sorta freaking out about it actually because I was really hoping for a phone interview by now. My job status says open and my HR status says submission. Does anyone know if thats good or bad?? Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks :)
Hello, i was wondering what the longest someone here has waited before learning they were excepted? I applied yesterday and already have a phone interview lined up which is exciting. However I want to do this with my gf, who hasnt heard anything and applied about an hour after I did. How long should she wait before emailing and asking about it? Or show that she is really interested in the opportunity. Any and all help/advice is appreciated. Edit: she is just really excited about this opportunity and it kills her even tho its only been 1 day.
Hey all! I'm an Aussie looking to apply for the A+NZ cultural exchange through my university. I have some questions about the process and actual time there, and I'm hoping somebody can give me some answers.
A+NZ questions:
How does the process go for being accepted in this process? Is it apply, interview, fill out forms (Visa, etc.) and then go? Or is it a series of interviews, a la the system the rest of the world seems to have?
In the application, there's an "Education history" section that allows me to put my last three education institutions in, with my major area of study for each. It has a predictive text/drop down menu, but the high school isn't listed. Can I still list it? And for the "major area of study", should I put all of the subjects (6) I took in high school in my last year?
General questions:
How many beds are there per room in the accommodation?
How much rent do they charge for the accommodation?
Is there wifi access in the accommodation?
Is makeup mandatory for female staff?
I'll be checking in for DCP Spring April 3rd, and was wondering if they'd have a problem with my ear scars. I stretched my earlobes at the ripe age of thirteen (we do dumb stuff when we're young) and they've now healed closed, but they left a bit of a weird scar. Do you guys think I'll be alright?
Hello my friends,
I'm wondering if any alumni can give me an accurate description of the Vista Way apartment complex. I met my roommate through the Facebook group and he was a very positive, social person who I think I'll enjoy living with. He asked if I was ok with living in Vista Way. I've heard stories, but maybe I don't know what I'm getting into. From what I understand it's the cheapest, which is awesome and totally preferable since we'll be making close to minimum wage. The apartment tours I saw on YouTube looked not too bad. And I've lived in some pretty shitty apartments so I can deal with an old kitchen and such. Where I can't find too much info on is the community at Vista Way... What can I actually expect? People always over? Parties every night? I'm not trying to party every night, but when I have off sure! Other nights I kind of like to get my sleep and be able to relax.
We'll be in non-wellness.. So DCP alumni of reddit, what is the most accurate description you can give? Help me out!
Thanks!!
In 2012 I was wrongly arrested for "alcohol to minors" but because of their lack of evidence and such I was given pretrial diversion, meaning I never went to court and never got a conviction.
I was accepted into the DCP and they sent me the additional information and Im pretty sure it just asked about convictions, not also arrests? But the minute I found out they do finger printing I started freaking out. I did answer honestly. I have never been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor! But the arrest will show up with my fingerprinting. Am I going to end up moving to Florida just to be sent home?
I just called a lawyer to help my expunge the case, would this help my chances or now that ive already answered the additional information am I just screwed?
I think I might be ok, I mean the rest of the background check can't happen until im in Florida and I have 6 months to go, That should be plenty of time to expunge my record, right?
I got selected to do the PI and scheduled mine for Feb 15. Since my work schedule is pretty hectic I rescheduled it for the next day, Feb 16, and the change was reflected in my "Interviews and Events" box. I just went on, because I have to change the date yet again, and saw that that box is now completely empty. I went back to my original email and clicked the link to schedule my phone interview and it brings me to that empty box. I just emailed them but last time they took almost 2 weeks to get back to me. Does anyone have ANY idea what to do with this?
