Reddit's home for everything watchOS beta.
Ever since the first 10.2 beta, the now playing screen will not stop popping up on my watch when “near” a HomePod. I use quotes because I can be 20 feet away from one or it triggers from the upstairs HomePod when I’m downstairs, etc. And music is never playing when this happens, it just opens the recently played or added now playing screen. I’ll close it and it just reopens every few seconds. I’ve turned off “auto-launch audio apps” but it still happens. I’ve reported it, but as usual never get any feedback.
The weather app seems to bug out on some watches and the complications are bugged out too. The weather app loads the weaher but shows "--". It loaded the weather as the background ambiance changed with the weather I get on my iOS but the other information regarding temperature, conditions, humidity etc etc are not showing.
Hi I am having an issue with greyed out music on the Apple Music app on my Apple Watch SE. this only occurred when I upgraded to the watch os10 version. I can shuffle all the songs but I cannot play any local song of mine on my iPhone. Kindly assist
The screen no longer blurs during transitions in the stopwatch app
Just noticed this ;-}
I was at home while a day and not too active. However, my moving Caroline’s are easily consuming without exercise.
I keep reading that Siri health requests are available since beta 2, we are on beta 3 as of today and I cannot make it work on my series 9 or iPhone, it just doesn’t work for me.
The article below as many others suggests it works, what’s your experience?
I’ve noticed that the battery life on my series 4 is a lot less than normal, upon some testing I then realised that my watch was depleting at a rate faster than it was charging. I am unable to install any update, the picture shows last night, it actually got to preparing but it now says there’s no connection to the watch even though it’s saying it’s connected. I’ve tried resetting several times but every time it fails. I’ve tried deleting the file when it is copied over to the watch and I’ve restarted both phone and watch several times. Battery life is showing as healthy so I think it’s a corrupted system. It’s been fine for a few months so I’m not sure what’s up. It was trying to install 10.1.1 so not sure if that has caused the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I think it’s time to get a new watch..
It crashes when I open. Everyone else?
I’m on 10.2 DB1. Long pressing the bell in the control center brings up this menu. It seems similar to the menu for focus as well. It’s kinda cool. Not sure how long this has been around.
I was pleasantly surprised today when I installed the 10.2 public beta. First thing I noticed was that when stopping a workout, it's now a one-click action like it used to be. They put the "New workout" button back where it used to be. The next thing I noticed on my S9 was that it automatically picks up music playing on nearby HomePods as was advertised during the Apple Event last month. Only had the update for a few hours but so far it's been all good things! Hopefully battery is good.
Hopefully someone can help me out with this one.
Is anyone else having an issue where you cannot scroll down in the Weather app to see the future forecast/conditions?
I have been having this issue now for a few beta releases and today’s release still didn’t resolve my issue. The initial release of watchOS 10 worked perfectly for me.
When I click into the Weather app it will only show Current Temp, condition, high and low (as seen in the picture).
I have searched everywhere and only found issues/solutions to the weather not loading in complications which is an issue I never had.
Series 6 Ver: 10.2 (21S5331f)
Thank you all in advance!
Or they just canceled the whole feature?
I noticed that my resting heart rate has been “elevated” since installing 10.1 (beta 3), October 11th is the first sleep I had with 10.1. Anyone else seeing the same thing? Could be a coincidence since I just got over Shingles and had to take a few weeks from fitness activities.
I used optimized charging limit on my SE2 during the watchOS 10 beta and first launch to stop the watch from charging past 80%. Loved it.
Then I got a new iPhone and had to re-pair etc. Now I can’t get the watch to start doing charging limit. (I'm not on the beta anymore, just the regular release 10.0.1.) Every night it goes up to 100%. I’ve checked that the proper location settings are on and that it is logging significant locations. But still not working after several days.
My one thought: the significant location for my apartment, when it shows on the map on my phone, is a tiny circle. I charge my phone in the living room and my watch in the bedroom, which might be out of the circle. Would that do it? Any way to make the significant location larger? I don’t want to have my phone in my room at night, but I do want to use my watch as a bedside alarm.
I’m at 44 hours so far without a charge.
Definitely a big of a lifetime. Battery lasts for about 1-1.5 hours before dead on the SE. All my devices are most current beta. Battery is hot! Actually with continue to drain even on a charger and won’t get back to full charge until it’s killed itself. Crazy stuff. Definitely never had a beta make my tools unusable before but this stands to correct me. Looking forward to a fix 😅 Factory reset stands to keep you in beta until a stable or next update releases so be weary of 10.1 (21S5063a)
Updated to the latest beta last night and the battery now only lasts about an hour from full. Before the update it was normal. Anybody else getting this?
I have iphone 15 pro max and Ultra 2. Both running latest beta (beta 3) and battery drain, for my first time, is crazy. Full battery is lasting about 5 hours. I haven't found any other posts mentioning this so I don't know where to look.
I have another watch i wear at night (series 7) and its battery was going at the same rate.
I will reset the other watch tonight and hopefully that's fixed also.
UPDATE: Fixed with a erase and re-setup. only 2% per hour how.
EDIT: added second watch info
After many months, latest versions of WatchOS 9 and 10, it seems that the watch battery is back to what it was before.
- Battery health: 94%
- Series 8 45mm
Is the Activity complication broken for anybody else in WatchOS 10.1 beta 3? None of the data is shown and the complication is blank. The activity app still opens when you click on the blank complication.
Unfortunately the regression from consistent 5m interval updates for the calendar complication (in WatchOS 9 and earlier) down to… no updates/sporadic at best on WatchOS 10 finally got to me.
I sent my Ultra back to Apple yesterday to restore back to WatchOS 9. I’ll run 10 developer betas on my backup/development testing device.
There was a lot of buzz about this issue earlier on and it seems to have calmed down. Has everyone who needed this just already moved on and sent their watch back in for a downgrade? Suffering through it for now? Or given up all hope?
I created an automation to disable raise to wake on my watch when I arrive home. It didn't work and I kept getting a domain error, so I tried creating a shortcut on its own to see whether that would work or not and to my surprise I got this error "This action cannot be run in the current environment". Can someone please give it a try and let me know if it works?
