This may be a dumb question, but I'm kind of desperate. I'm trying to find online or hybrid classes that can be completed over winter break before the start of the upcoming winter quarter. Its the middle of the quarter however there's still 2 months until next quarter. I’m in need of more credits, but I don’t want to overload on classes during the winter quarter. My schedule is free right now, making it the most convenient time for me to get classes done. Is there any online institutions that allow this if this is possible? Appreciate any guidance on this topic.
Hi friends, I'm looking into converting my garage into a commercial kitchen. I've read all the laws and regulations I can find, and it fully looks possible for what I'm hoping to make. Specifically a food processor license, not something covered under cottage food. My question though is there anyone that has any experience with this? I'm hoping to find a contractor/designer that knows what they are talking about to help me in this process. I live in Kitsap county specifically for what it's worth.
Happy Halloween, y'all! Please vote! And don't trick or treat at Trumper houses! They may put treason in your kids candy!
Hi everyone,
I’m considering enrolling my 8th grader in an online school for the rest of this year. Unfortunately, our local program is full. I know there are charter online schools that operate in Washington, but it’s hard to get a sense of how good they are.
If you’ve had a kid in an online school in Washington, what school did they attend and what was their experience?
Hello! I am looking for a new job and saw a few properties in my area managed by Essex. Does any work for Essex? I wanted to know what it’s like working there as a maintenance tech? What are the benefits like? How do they treat their employees? More importantly how easy is it to get a place with them as an employee? I have bad credit so housing is important for me through my job. I looking to work in the bothell/mill creek area.
Hello,
I am new to the community and plan on moving up to Moses Lake from San Francisco for a job. I wanted to know how the area is like and if I wanted to live near Samaritan Healthcare, is it a good area? If not, is there an area nearby that’s better?
Thank you
TRICK OR TREAT: WINTER IS HERE.
The gates to SR 410 Chinook Pass and SR 123 Cayuse Pass between Crystal Mountain Boulevard and Morse Creek have closed temporarily as of 12:30 p.m. today (Oct. 31) following a forecast predicting over 20 inches of snowfall in the next 24 hours.
We've closed both passes for the safety of maintenance crews and travelers amid worsening road conditions and a heightened risk of avalanches.
We will re-evaluate road and avalanche conditions on Monday, Nov. 4, to determine if both passes will reopen.

Looking to explore the state a bit more. What are some quaint little towns/ cafes / hidden gems that I could visit this fall?
hi there! im planning a 4 day trip this december to washington. fly into seattle. im torn between leavensworth area (probably skykomish as its cheaper) or mt rainier (ashford).
I want to do some outdoor activities while im there, primarly snow shoeing. i also enjoy cute small towns, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. which do you think would be a better location? im leaning towards leavenworth/skykomish, but is the snowshoeing/outdoor stuff still decent there? thanks!

As someone who has been living in the south east most of my life and moved here not long ago, sometimes I can't help but feel isolated from America. Before, my typical flights would not exceed 3hrs at maximum and now, to fly to the destinations that I used to fly to takes an average of 4hrs or more.
Had the pleasure to fly drone with @UpRiverGolfCo on YouTube at Gamble Sands. Eastern Washington is an absolutely stunning landscape!
Hi All, I live in Seattle and am planning to transfer ownership of my current car to my wife. The car tabs are up for renewal next month. If I renew the tabs before transferring ownership, will my wife need to renew them again. I couldn't find a proper answer in dol site.
Thanks in advance
Leah claims to be an aspiring collegiate wrestler. I don’t know if things have changed in the quarter century since I wrestled in high school, but back then, it was purely based on weight class, and girls wrestled against boys. Biological males have no advantage over biological females in a given weight class. I submit as evidence me getting my ass kicked by girl when she got me in a leg lock.
If you’re going to pander, at least pick a sport that makes sense.
My friend and I want to visit Leavenworth for 2 days around the 2nd week of December (12-14th ish). As much as we want to drive, we don’t want to risk getting snowed on. Our vehicles don’t have snow tires as well. Does it start snowing early there in December? We’re from Vancouver, BC so we don’t really know the weather situation there.
Would it be worth it to just take the amtrak from seattle? What’s stopping us from wanting to take the amtrak are the available train times. Amtrak from seattle leaves at 5pm so we would arrive late, then the following ride back would be around 2pm. I feel like we would lose a lot of time because of this.
Please indulge my frankness for a moment. The US has very little artistic or intellectual culture that's accessible to the average person. In many ways it continues to get worse. There aren't really any local or national structures or institutions that can ground and stabilize art and the humanities in local communities, or even across the nation. Sure, there are public arts commissions, museums, galleries, but for many reasons I won't get into here, they are largely inaccessible and very corporate. Their decisions are not made at the community level, and these things are largely not run by artists or passionate people in their field, but business people, politicians, accountants, etc.
We're completely fragmented, and slaves to algorithms and corporations. I know many people have similar interests, but the only time I get to be around them is when I use the existing structures provided by the university system--academic associations, conferences, events, clubs. But those are sealed off from most of public life.
Basically, I have an idea. The neat thing about the imperfect academic system is that, for all its faults, it provides a sort of network and structure that connects people. Intellectuals and artists in many different fields often volunteer to form collectives and associations that then put on events and conferences. Why do we not have anything like this OUTSIDE OF the university system? It's not like it costs much money. Sure, there are costs to travel, to renting venues. But we could at least START to form collectives and groups of people who are interested in sharing their work and mutual love.
My idea is that we start to do this online. We form book clubs, discussion groups, maybe art viewing meetings where we share our work and discuss it... We could even have talks/lectures or share our writing. Whatever! Then, if we get enough people we start planning on having meetups. I live in central WA right now, but will be moving to the West Side, or at least Ellensburg, in the next several months. I can make the drive out to places we would meet, especially after the snowy season ends.
Maybe it will take planning. Maybe we will have to learn to get along and have critical, intelligent and sometimes uncomfortable conversations critiquing each other's work. One thing I definitely would like is that the group not be afraid of engaging in genuinely critical conversations on art, ethics, philosophy--whatever! So long as it's loving, I truly believe we can all learn to do this. I know it's possible, because this is how things were done prior to the last fifty years! Art associations and collectives were common (e.g., The Pictorial Photographers of America is a great example).
So, would anyone be interested in starting something like this? Get an email list going and a centralized website or something?
Let me know your thoughts! If you are interested, you can leave your email in this email signup form, and we can connect!

P.S.
For anyone who cares, here is my background. I am a philosopher. I teach philosophy online at the university level. I write and research on a lot of topics: religion, ethics and aesthetics, mostly. I also am into fine art photography, though I am fairly critical of a lot of modern photography that is considered "fine art."
I got asked to work as unarmed security, which means no use of force unless it’s absolute necessary. Also, I got the graveyard shift
What is their set list? I literally can’t find anything online about who’s playing there except for watershed but that’s an annual occurrence. Any tips on how to find this? I really want to plan a trip next year around a gorge concert
Just noticed my credit card got charged yesterday around $80 from the Washington State Department of Transportation.
I am very confused where this came from, my first thought was GoodtoGo but I logged in and my account balance is zero (Been months since I crossed the 520 bridge) and no payments. I dont see anything on the DOL licensing portal (I paid with echeck for tabs in june and I am not due for drivers license renewal). Has this happened to anyone, where can I call, the payment has no reference to an account, and how do they have my credit card??
im seeking an inpatient facility that accepts molina and is ideally between centralia and bellingham, and recommendations or places to avoid?
