Got around to landing the backroll! Thanks for the advice

https://imgur.com/a/Tkvi4HP

Thanks for the help getting this. Really maxing the carve at the wake is what really got the rotation going well. Now just need to try the full wake and maybe a heel side roll

2018 Axis Cover

Anyone had to buy an Axis cover lately, our dealership is quoting $2,700 for a cover!

Is that pricing normal?

[CABLE] buying my first wakeboard. any things i should look out for?

Hi! So i've been riding on my local cable park a lot recently, and the rentals are really stumping my progression, so i'm buying a 2nd hand board. A guy was selling his DUP Board+Bindings for around 565 USD, 153cm long with velcro straps. I tried it and the bindings were nice and snug and the board felt pretty good to edge/ride the kicker on, but I'm also waiting on the owner of this other board who's selling his for 255 USD DUP Board+Bindings, sight unseen for now (probably DUP as well, all the boards the regulars here use are DUP), and they said it's only been used a few times. Personally I find the first board too expensive but I'd still be willing to buy, I'm just really waiting on the other board to inspect and try it out.

Using the $565 board really showed me how important a good board is, but how much more important good-fitting bindings are, and since i'm just starting out i dont think the board matters that much yet. should I just wait on the $255 board and buy better bindings or just bite the bullet with the $565 board?

$565 board. The bottom only has a few scratches since the owner only hit kickers.

EDIT: $255 board is also DUP.

Wakeboard bindings size

I’m looking at wakeboard bindings to buy, I am size 6 but the few i’ve found are either a 5.5 or a 6.5 so would it be better to go bigger or smaller?

Beginner question

Hello, As a lifelong snowboarder, I was looking for something to scratch my itch out of season. Skateboarding is not for me, so I landed on wakeboarding. Luckily I got a lake with cable neary house. I did few lessons and decided to dive in properly next season. I have bought these on black friday sale. The board is a bit shorter than what I was recommended, they didn't have one my size. But I run shorter snowboards as well and worst case scenario I just buy a new one. I got everything else from get go as I didn't like the idea of using rental suit and helmet.

Now looking at the boots. How the hell do you undo that and take the board off when you fall in the middle of the lake? Is there a trick to it, or do I just have to suck it up? :D there's gonna be a lot of falling, since I'm regular and cable loops counter clockwise.

Do you take some special care of the board? Or just let it dry? Wax?

What's a creative way to surprise friends with a wake foil?

We decided to get a wake foil on a black Friday sale (we've done it before but don't have our own). I'm trying to think of a fun way to casually surprise them the next time they visit (we don't want to wait for boating season to tell them)

1995 super sport help

I have my eye on a 1995 super sport with 5 year old engine and transmission (less than 100 hours). My wife and I would be using it to wakeboard/wakeskate and wake surf when friends are over. What price would be a good price to pay. Im looking to get a v drive for under 13k and willing to do work on it. Boat has been taken care of well and I know the owner, but it will need to be re upostered in the next year or two. Anyone every wakesurfed behind this boat?

Looking for a board!

I've always been around the water but more recently just started wakeboarding a lot more. I've been on my college's team for a semester and am now looking to buy my own board and bindings. I ride mostly behind boat and am looking for something that is somewhat new like a 22 or 23 but nothing that would break the bank. Figure I would ask here since black friday is right around the corner. Would love to hear any recommendations or helpful tips.

open or closed toes bindings for beginner

I'm a newbie with a few tries in park wakeboarding. I just bought my first board (Liquid force TAO) and I'm looking for bindings. I was thinking to go with open toe bindings to start with, but I saw great black friday deals for closed toe ones that would basically cost the same (<200$). Any suggestion on which one would you pick if you were me?

EDIT: with closed toe, are the external walk liner (or whatever they are called) good and useful or just a marketing thing that is better to avoid?

Is a 137 park board doable for a 30yr old, 5’10 slim build at 130lbs?

Have only rented at my local cable park and never caught the size. From what I read it seems like 136-142cm would be the range I should get. Found a 2020 liquid force tao for 99$ in the plastic. Trying not to psych myself into another board before the season even starts lol. Help?

Swim Deck Ladder on Axis A24?

Just bought a 2023 Axis A24. My dad (67) went in 25% on it so he can use it with my siblings and grandkids. He’s still somewhat active but definitely could use the ladder getting back in the boat. I’d like to add a ladder to make it easier and more fun for him. We bought the rope ladder that can clip on the back but those are pretty flimsy and drift under the boat.

Has anyone installed a metal ladder under the swim deck of an Axis or any surf boat for that matter? I can only find minimal info online. My local dealer wants about $2k for material and install. I’m pretty handy and would like to try it myself. Any direction would be appreciated!

Good Deals Thread

Any where to post good deals for others to explore? I'll go first.

https://www.overbymarine.com/inventory/2021-centurion-vi22-littleton-nc-27850-12791085i

Seems a good price for a late model Centurion. I want something with more of a pickle-fork bow for bow loading on the lift.

Which cable board to choose

Hello guys, I’m thinking of buying a new board for the upcoming season. It will be my 2 season riding. I enjoy trying new tricks and doing something new every session. Recently I have been getting into air tricks but my board seems to slip out while edging. (2021 hyperlite codyak) I’m looking for a board that I would be using for quite some time and universally. Im picking between 2025 hyperlite bloodline and 2025 ronix utopia. Which should I pick and why. Thanks!

Honestly I'm kind of suprised this subreddit is so small.

I thought wakeboarding is very popular and I can find popular spots in every larger city here (Im from Poland). As a wake skater I even started with searching for a wakeskate sub but there isnt even one dedicated for that. Why is this subreddit so small? Is it just the platform? Whats your point of view?

wakeboard bindings

I’m looking to get some wakeboard bindings, however a lot are way too much what i’d like to spend. What good bindings are there for cheaper, preferably closed boots and don’t know if they’d need to be women’s or not?

Winterize G23 Paragon 2020

I have a 2020 Paragon G23 with the ZZ8 engine. In the manual it states to winterize the ballast tanks. Is this necessary if you keep the tanks empty. I use the boat year round and will be filling and emptying the tanks several times a month. I plan to winterize the manifolds and heater core for the heater. Is there anything else that I need to drain for the cold days in Seattle, WA??? Does anyone have a site or video that explains the full winterization process for one of these wake boats. I have had 3 different tournament ski boats and I am very familiar with winterize this type of boat, but not the wake boats.

Backroll advice?

https://imgur.com/a/Ea0WVkF

This is a video from my second day out trying the toeside backroll. This is my closest landing. Gonna give it another go tomorrow.

Any advice? Does anyone think any of the other inverts would be worth trying?

Hello wake, can someone critique my jump?

Hello, thanks to this community and some YT vids recommended, I have improved my wakejump significantly. Can anyone further critique me? Am I getting enough pop to start spins and flips?

I’m looking to buy some bindings for the park but would open toe ones, either laces or velcro straps be better or full boots?
