If the redline calls for a 5 hour server shift on second does it affect the redline at all if the server works 2-7 compared to 5-9. As long as 5 hours are worked it shouldn’t matter right?
Hey I’m a grill op and I’m just wondering how I can get my hashbrowns off the grill and onto the plate in the prettiest way possible. Tips? Help?
Saw a livestream on TikTok from a Waffle House. Could have been an AI hallucination but I think it was real. Is this a thing now? I have so many questions
Texas bacon cheesesteak melt plate double hash browns scattered, smothered, covered, peppered, and country. I’ve had heartburn all night and it was worth it.
Hello fellow WaHo enjoyers. My relationship with my wonderful woman is getting pretty serious after over four years. So serious I'm thinking of treating her to a wonderful Waffle House meal on Valentine's Day. Obviously, this is a pretty big relationship step. Can anyone make a recommendation on which store in the Knoxville area would be the best for our special evening?
I’ve been a waitress for several years, so I just wondered if you all felt the tips are good? I like the ambiance, I like the people, I just wanna make sure I’m making a livable wage after training. Thanks!
Thought I’d share one of the many fond memories I have for Waffle House here. I grew up in the neighborhood of the very first Waffle House, the museum is right down the street from a newer build. When I was a small kid, my whole family would always go to in every Sunday. I would always get the same thing, All Star Special with a chocolate chip waffle. I was about 3/4 at the time and would request whipped cream, my parents always giving in to my request. The waitress started to recognize me and would always just bring out the whole can of whipped cream for me in anticipation, leaving it on the table.
My family ended up moving away and I hadn’t been back to Atlanta in about 6 years when we we ended up driving through the city and stopping at that same Waffle House in Avondale just for old time sake. At this point I was probably 12/13 and I still get the same order. I asked the waitress if I could pretty please have the can of whipped cream on the table, as it’s something I used to do as a kid. She looked at me and told me how there used to be a little girl she would do that for years ago. It was such a great, full circle moment that I’ll never forget! Any time I’m in Decatur, I always remember that kindness of my Waffle House waitress just trying to make a kids day! 💛
I applied 2 days ago, got an interview immediately for the 4th of February. I’m a man (if that matters) and I’m a server, this is my first job. What should I expect the interview to be like? And do they test..?
Let’s say I get the job, what should I expect while training?
Thanks everyone
Went to WH today and ordered a grits bowl. Was handed 2 packets of butter "for your grits". First time ever. They needed it and two wasn't enough. It was like they were made with way less water, had no butter added and no salt or flavor.
I usually love WH grits. This is the second time in a row I've gotten some that were less than stellar. The first time was a bit later in the day so I just chalked it up to they'd been sitting and congealed a bit and took the lesson to stick to hash browns if it's not breakfast time.
This was not a WH we'd been to before and my bf said his hash browns weren't great either. He left half of them on his plate and I left more than half my bowl. Did we just hit a bad waffle house? Or, have they changed something?
soo my UM is out sick. my paycheck was short this week by a lottt, asked district manager who did payroll for the unit so i could talk to em about it and he said he did not know. that was the only response i got. 😅 havent had any problems with district manager until now,, disappointed in the lack of response but not sure how to go forward. has this happened to anyone else? should i contact division manager?
Am I way off base on this one?
Helloooo!!,
I work as a server/waitress at waffle house. Is there anywhere where I can get a good explanation for how to call orders to the grill operators? I’ve found a YouTube video that was some what helpful that was by Waffle House themselves but I can’t seem to find a good explanation. I keep messing up the call orders and my co-workers get stressed out by me. In specific, how to call plates and platters.
I passed my Red Star test which makes me a certified server but it’s still hard to get the hang of it. One of my friends that worked there say that they took a month to learn everything, but I don’t wanna take that long. I wanna take a short amount of time so I could get more hours.
I feel mentally stressed because I’m trying my best.
Thank you :’)
So now when we talk about going to waffle house we make sure to say the dead guy waffle house. You know the one with the dead body. Haha 😂.
Yeah they brought me to the back and made memorize thirty different things and I'm gonna tell you know I'm no remembering any of that if someone orders bacon I'm telling the cooks 3 pieces of bacon I'm not doing any of that 1 order = 3 pieces I'm just telling how much bacon they want and I'm doing the plate crafting to show the cooks what they want I'm giving them a piece of paper telling them everything
I had my first day of training to be a server today, and I was blown away by the amount of things you have to memorize and learn. Specifically about the way they have you write down customers' orders and call them out for the cook. All the different abbreviations, terminology, and prices have left my head spinning, to the point where I'm starting to think I might actually be too stupid for this job. I have two more days of training and then they're letting me loose, and I feel certain that I will not be prepared for that. Has anyone else felt like this when they first started? Does it ever get any easier? And do they let you keep a cheat sheet while you're working? I sure hope so.
I got reservations for Valentine's Day at Waffle House for the first time. Any of y'all do it? What can I expect? I'm sure it will be a blast.
My wife is not nearly as excited about it.
I had posted some not great looking hashbrowns(I’ll post in comments) but these were so spot on it made up for any previous hashbrowns that fell short.
You heard it, i want to know if there's a brasillian equivalent to waffle house, a restaurant in brasil that is open 24/7 365 days a year, even in natural disasters
What's the most you all have made in one year as unit managers ?
first time in houston and first time at waffle house and it’s currently 3am and i’ve been to two waffle houses and both of them are to-go only right now. is that normal? missing the true waffle house experience
The best waffle in the game baby. First you make a plain waffle and then you put peanut butter chips on the freshly hot waffle to melt it and last but not least you add 2 pieces of Pecan Pie. Yum! It don't even need syrup maybe just a little honey.
Got really high and got some Waffle House and the waitress asked if I wanted some Waffle House sauce. Waffle House sauce?! It taste fantastic and really does compliment the satiating feeling of these heavy foods haha. Thanks for reading!
Not sure what you'd call it. Fluffy pot fried slow cooked burger omelet sufflet?
My daughter works fir Waffle House and she is sick coughing and crying because she is afraid they will fire her if you don't go to work. She never calls out of work she is always there. Can she sue if they fire her ?? She works around food so it should be a law to work around food sick. Need help please.
Yall need to go back to 24/7
