As a newcomer it’s been hard to find good in-depth Guides and content on VF and it’s individual characters.
I’ve started learning Kage Maru and was wondering what things I should know about this character.
How good is he? Or how bad is he? Is he easy/hard to learn? What archetype is he? What playstyle should I be adopting and how do I fight against other playstyles? Key moves? Why do you play Kage? Why do you hate playing against Kage? How has he not broken his neck hurling towards the ground head first?
For the lighter mains out there (Eileen, Aoi, Pai, El-Blaze, Lion, Sarah) do y'all think VF should do away with weight class in VF6? We all know light characters are at a disadvantage bc they're easier to launch, take more damage, and get rung out more easily. If weight class stays,, there needs to be a counter-adjustment to compensate for this disadvantage.
One thing that comes to mind is cliff/wall tech for light weight characters. The lighter characters tend be nimble and acrobatic, so it's kinda surprising they can't grab ahold of ledges to prevent ring outs or utilize walls to parry certain wall combos. What do y'all think?
Last night I was playing against a person almost twice my rank (I was a 3rd Dan, currently 4th). The first set, they completely demolished me, but I was able to win the next two rematches. The final set was marked as a demotion match for them and I honestly didn't expect to win, but I managed to come out on top. On the one hand, I feel proud of winning against someone of higher skill, but also kind of bad. Idk I'm sure this sounds dumb, but this was my first time in a situation like this, so I had a mix of emotions going on.
Been deciding between Vanessa or Jean. Vanessa 2 stances look really cool and looks she could be devastating but other than that I don’t really know too much of what kind of fighter she is.
I then unlocked the hard version of all 50 challenges
like a Tekken debate been going on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azzEBxKc8zA there are some valid points that communities could be open minded about things.
of course there are some things are unacceptable (like if VF6 were to go in the direction of VF Kids..... Sega wouldn't dare. )
but think even if they went with flashy stuff, rage supers, people would adapt.
like today I just played Tekken 2 and Tekken 7 back to back and both are great fighting games.
I know people prefer the traditional mechanics, but VF6 gotta change some things to compete and stay relevant. so it will be challenging how Sega would excite both conservative fans and mainstreamers.
Phantasy Star Online plays nothing like classic Phantasy Star rpgs but it still went on to be the most profitable and played type of Phantasy Star games.
think VF6 could have the pure battle system, but a little extra on top to the fighting. though it raises to question how it will look and turn out. I think they will not abandon the realism style cause Like a Dragon is a best seller and that is one of the most realistic looking japanese games in the market that isn't Forbidden Siren series.
and balance is important which VF excels at. so not sure how they would handle supers if it has something like that. hit sparks are already in VF5US so it makes sense they would have that in VF6, though they could make it optional in VF6 like DOA5 has options for hit effects.
and customization is a must too . I read leaks that a key developer of Soul Calibur 5 is in involved with VF6 so that could be a huge contribution to perhaps the customization side of things just like how Team Ninja helped Omega Force implement a much better character creation system in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires.
they should take advantage of that expertise and add fighter creation, with the main cast fighting styles being selectable (not customizable movesets for the sake of maintaining balance like Soul Calibur 6 does). martial arts are not owned by anyone, so it make sense to expand the roster through fighter creation, which is something WWE benefits having and they include it every year's new game.
this in turn can let players expand the roster if the main cast is not enough for them and at the sametime would provide more variety while the balance of the fighting is maintained and even recreate characters that would otherwise not be there.
it could be as straightforward as selecting a main cast character, selecting edit, and able to change their name, face, etc. from lots of presets. with balance selection they could make it so avatars are allowed while not having reach advantages over the main cast.
How the hell am I supposed to do this shit on a controller?? 😭
I have this tradition of having a rotation of wallpapers with one for each of my fighting game mains. With the recent announcement of VF5 coming to PC I decided I wanna main Jean but this is the only artwork I could find. Any suggestions on how to make it look better is welcome
What could be the Balance updates for this new version. To be honest this is the first time I have gone blank on what they could buff or nerf. Like I know some people hate the ring outs or the stagger state but I think they are fine.
I was in the 50th challenge in the licence challenge mode on the last fight, it’s against Dural and I didn’t entirely believe in myself because she’s always very hard. I was surprised when I won the first round, which went pretty well, then I lost the second, so it was the last round, I had a small life lead and I decided to go for a technique that’s never been beaten, the tracking roundhouse kick into throw, in the many times I’ve done this the throw always landed after the kick, no opponent has ever broke the throw or stopped it in any sort of way.
So I do the roundhouse and it lands and I’m thinking that I had won, I’ve beaten what I’m pretty sure it the last challenge of the game, so imagine my surprise and frustration when she ducked the throw with a move and combo-ed it into Akira’s shoulder check move, which killed me. I had never seen it be beaten before, the game practically lied to me and told me “yeah that’ll work every time” and then right at what is likely the last fight of the single player, after 10 fights that you have to win in a row, showed me the one way to beat it, I could not of planned for it to fail because I was given no reason to think it could fail, I had to test what even happened in practice mode afterwards. It’s only right at the end did I find out that it’s pretty much a knowledge check that probably absolutely destroys beginners and anyone who doesn’t know.
This is just for me to rant about this because I feel robbed, that felt like complete bull and I felt the need to rant about this
Also Ordered my first leverless stick! Loving it so far! Dunno what to expect. So far CPU owns me hahaha
playing FS from ingame Lost Judgment arcade game
I’ve been watching some VFUS replays on YouTube after getting hype from the Vf 5 revo trailer and it’s so striking to me how incredible the stages and aesthetic of the game are. I’ve been playing a lot of tekken 8 and it’s so dark and something about the color palette seems like it’s washed out in comparison to VFUS. And the stage backgrounds even to this day are gorgeous. The locations of the arenas might not make much sense at all but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to accept if the stages look as good as they do.
