The admins deleted the message about why the subreddit had been closed. So allow me to explain in a way that the admins cannot get offended:

  • Reddit modmailed us to tell us they were forcing community chat down our throat
  • There was no point in continuing to keep r/vids open as it's been used as honeypot for spam for the last 3 years.
  • Finally, if you modmail asking for access to the sub after reading the above, I fully reserve the right to mock and ridicule you

Recently the admins modmailed us to threaten that they will be enabling reddit chat in the subreddit. Because I don't take threats from jackasses that refuse to do anything about spam, racists, or dangerous cults, I'm shutting the sub down.
