Got a blood blister at work the other day and remembered it was there. Decided to pop it to make it heal faster and it worked just fine. Only other time I’ve used it was to get lint out of my phones charging port.
Not today torx, not today..
I have had this SAK (Explorer) for about a month now, and I must say I love it. I tried to switch back to a Super Tinker or even my climber and 24hours later I just wanted my Explorer back in my pocket. I always thought I was a 3 layer EDC guy but I starting to think differently. I was planning on turning my Explorer into a Yeoman but I think I like the 4 layer thickness even more. What is it about having those extra layers for you? If I got a Cybertool M would I ever go back to EDCing my Explorer? Oh man the hardship being a multi SAK owner.
Has anyone bought a SAK from a yard sale and been able to use the warranty to fix/clean it? I understand the warranty is supposed to only be for the original purchaser, but has anyone beat the system? How did you do it?
Now that they have confirmed that more bladeless knives are coming, what combination of tools would you like to see?
I’ve always wondered why the Jetsetter never came with a pen, given how often forms need to be filled out when travelling.
I also think a Manager with the blade swapped for something would be brilliant travel combination. But what should replace the blade?
(And please don’t reply with ‘a blade’. They’re not going anywhere. If you don’t want a bladeless knife, don’t buy one.)
So I've got a Victorinox Manager; it's my favorite 58mm Vic and now that it's been discontinued I'll be keeping it until the day I die. I thought it would be fun to put custom scales on it rather than keep the plastic ones, steel or titanium or whatever. But although I can find custom 58mm scales for the Classic, these wouldn't fit on a Manager; the pen extension tab requires an extra cutout on the side of the scales. Is there a place that sells custom Manager scales? Or custom Mini-Champ scales; the Mini-Champ has a pen too and so I assume those would fit on a Manager.
Just wondering if anyone here could help me with this. I just made my own red Victorinox scientist and I wanted to have the word scientist written on the red scales under the shield in white, I always liked how the older victorinox knives looked with the faded white logos and corporate brandings, is there a white paint that will adhere to the current cellidor scales ? I imagine it will just flake off instantly rather than fading over time. If anyone has any idea I'd be glad to hear!
Just received a Spirit MXBS and noticed this small hole on the pliers. Is this type of thing normal and if not should I be concerned and longevity of the tool? Thanks
Used the awl on my super tinker to fix the loose cord on my teabag. Never thought that the awl could come in handy in the office.
I LOVE IT. It's definitely not going to be my last one. I want a Farmer X so bad now but it's too darn expensive🤦🏻♂️
I bought it years ago. I wanted to buy a second one, but I found out that the Hercules are no longer produced. It's a shame, but I'm glad to have at least one
Inspired by this video but without a glue gun, I decided to go a different route.
I put some 3/16" 3:1 marine grade heat shrink wrap on the cap lifter (TKDMR brand on Amazon - same stuff I used for the Hook/T-Shank Jigsaw fitting). I cut away wrap from the working end of the screwdriver.
It works with the Wera adapter like a charm. There is a little resistance when closing the cap lifter, but a slight push is all that's required. The nail nick is covered but still there and the wrap provides texture for your nail, so it's easy to open.
=============
EDIT: The shrink wrap got pushed back in use and started to fray. Back to the drawing board.
wondering what base model this is or is it a special Rolex set of tools, also is this a 58mm or 74mm?
I haven’t seen one like this. Anyone have a name for it?
The Cybertool L is my most valuable and best SAK they ever made. Got a loose Paneel on a Schoolbus? No problem 😁.
