Flags outside local nickel plant
π΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ π¨π¦ π§π· For years I was curious as to why these three flags in particular were outside of the mond nickel works in Clydach, near Swansea, Wales. It's obvious why the Welsh flag was there but for the other two I was stumped. It turns out the international nickel company who owns the plant is based in Canada, and that company is in turn owned by Vale, a Brazilian mining company. (I couldn't get a good picture so emojis will have to do.)

My idea of a new Illinois state Flag. The green represents "The Prairie State", Blue for the transportation and the rivers and lakes, the Mississippi River boarder and 21 stars for the 21st state. (signature would be omitted from the flag design)
