I just left the mall 20 minutes ago…
Been down since 1:15pm. Outage report says my service is fine 🙄
Me and my bf moved in to the apartment on September. Everything is covered by them except electricity. We got charged extra $62 last month for water and emailing us how we can conserve water. I thought it was just me using the washing machine “a lot” because we had it on extra rinse and i had to do it more often bc i need to wash my work clothes so i just hand wash them and i bought more clothes and remove the extra rinse. But now my bf is saying he received an email again that it was the water and charge the same amount. I take a shower for less than 20 minutes and is is probably 30 minutes. I believe we just use the water normally. It’s quite frustrating how they cover the water but then they charge us this much.
Only 60 buses do, but they are only from downtown Vancouver, which puts more cars on the highways. They used to have buses, such as the 4 and 44, that ran from the mall to the MAX. Neither exists anymore!!
Hey I was wondering if there’s any tattoo artists in this group. I had some questions. Did you go to tattoo school? Did you do an apprenticeship? How did you get it?
I’ve been practicing on myself, fake skin and some friends but I’m having a hard time finding a mentor. I can’t afford 10k for tattoo school and you need that to get licensed in Portland. I’m feeling stuck
Happy almost November. I've seen a few questions related to Thanksgiving restaurants for this year, but am really looking to hear of the best places to pre-order Thanksgiving dinner in Vancouver. We are having 16 people this year and I'm not the best at properly timing my large dinners so want to order some things. I'm not looking for a one-stop shop... happy to drive all over our beautiful city and pick up sides, desserts, meats separately. Which places are the best? Thank you!
Okay, I worry this may be perceived as something inflamatory, but I'd genuinely like to hear from someone a compelling case as to why increasing the sheriff's salary will benefit the community before I mark it down on my ballot, if anyone has one they'd care to share.
We will be moving into a new house over Thanksgiving holiday weekend and won’t have time to cook up our usual meal. Any suggestions for local restaurants that are open on Thanksgiving and offer a traditional meal?
I need to get an hour or two of work done this evening and could use a change of scenery from my apartment. I would just go to a coffee shop, but most of them are closed in the evening.
Thanks in advance!
I'm a big baseball and soccer fan, and I can't help but notice that Vancouver is completely lacking in any pro sports teams. The closest we have is the Ridgefield Raptors collegiate wood bat baseball team. I've been to a few of their games, they are a lot of fun, they seem to get good crowds and I'm sure they have brought some money into the Ridgefield area. It seems like the area could probably support a team at a higher level of competition, though.
I know we have Portland right accross the river, but the Vancouver area is growing. Clark County has half a million people now, and I think a lot of people would prefer to not have to go to Portland to watch sports. I keep seeing the USL expanding to more and more cities, and I can't help but think that if Spokane and Eugene can support pro teams, why not Vancouver? At the very least it would be nice to get a semi-pro team in League two. Ballard, West Seattle, Olympia, Bellevue, and Tacoma all have one. Or even a minor league baseball team. They are moving to different cities all the time.
I guess my question is what do you all think, would you want a team here? Is there enough interest in sports on this side of the Columbia, and would we be able to support a team?
Not posting a pic because the mods wouldn't allow it last time, but for the third time this year, every driveway/yard in my neighborhood has been littered by a two sided flyer - one for a home cleaning business, and one for a landscaping business. The flyer is in a single sandwich bag with a rock to weigh it down. I can't imagine getting any customers for either type of business by littering. Does this seem odd to anyone else?
Hi all! Kind of a silly question: we're still somewhat new to the area, and haven't tried any of the local Pho places yet. My husband loves Pho but is diabetic and can't eat the noodles, and most restaurants we've been to didn't want to make any substitutions (swapping noodles for more veggies and meat). He can eat the other ingredients in those situations, but it's not as filling and he hates wasting all that food. Does anyone know of a Pho place that would be willing to make that change for a customer?
I’m a production associate at the Outlet. My coworkers and I put out used books in good condition and it does not seem a lot of them aren’t being sold when they come off the floor. When they come off the floor, they are salvaged and taken to another facility to be shredded. It seems like a waste of paper having all those books shredded especially when they’re in good condition. I was just wondering if people are still interested in purchasing them?.
My wife and I got an Ooni pizza oven, and when we tried it with normal Pillsbury dough from Fred Meyers, it just sort of fell apart. We were thinking that we should try it with real, authentic, freshly made pizza dough - but aren't sure if there are any bakeries or supermarkets in the area that sells it.
Does anyone know if there are places where we can buy the dough?
I am looking for a recommendation on a hair stylist that might have experience or is an expert in cuts for very fine, thinning hair. I have been so insecure about my thinning hair and putting it up in a bun (which is my go to) I can see more and more balding.
I’m ready for a transformative haircut but every time I’ve had a fancy professional cut it’s always made me think “this would look good if I had more hair”. I need a boost of self confidence and I think a new haircut could help!
Thanks in advance
I'm a new homeowner and am excited about replacing the kitchen sink which is ridiculously shallow! Seriously, it's like that log ride where you get water dumped on you at the end.
Anyway, I'm hoping to get some recommendations for the best general contractor around Vancouver to install my new sink.
Thanks neighbors!
I was on the trail at Vancouver lake on Tuesday and spotted a dark, long haired cat with gray stripes. Didn't seem feral but ran away when I got close to it. Seems like somebody's lost pet.
I called animal control and left a message but I wanted to post here too in case anyone in the area is missing a cat with that description.
I'm thinking of buying a homebuilt utility trailer from someone in Portland, but getting it registered in Vancouver seems like the biggest pain ever. The guy doesn't have a title because they aren't required in Oregon, and he doesn't have receipts from when it was built in 2010 because who would.
So I'm thinking I might have him title it in Oregon for $101, even though it isn't required for this trailer that's well under the 1,800 lb limit, and then it will have a VIN and title I can present to Washington DOL to make it easier. Any reason you can think of that this is a terrible idea?
Hello Vancouver, WA subreddit!
It's a bit of a shot in the dark, I'll keep it as broad as I can, I'm on a throwaway just in case.
I work at one of the Vancouver Pho restaurants, just an employee- nothing fancy, and I'm curious what people look for so that I can try my best to help the business where I can.
We have a variety of options (such as soup, banh mi, rice plates, vermicelli, etc.) and serve boba/bubble tea; the options are broad.
I think in terms of taste the food is good, although I've worked there for a year and some change so I might be biased. I have some picky family and they like the food I bring home if that means anything hahaha
I'm always in charge of boba when I'm on the clock, I've been told by customers it tastes better when I make it, but it's because I try really hard compared to my coworkers :(
Is there something that draws you towards a particular restaurant, what draws you away?
