Pictures of the Cascade Park area from the 80s and 90s?

The title says it all! After seeing the post about the Mill Plain Taco Bell it got me nostalgic to see more pictures of that area from the 80s and 90s. Does anyone have an album they want to share?

Mill Plain between Hearthwood/Park Crest and the Police station closed due to fallen power lines.

Avoid if you value your travel time, the lights around there are out and the road blocked. I saw a big flash like a firework as a truck passed by, and the cables fell and were on the ground arcing. Called 911 around 7:15ish and as of posting it is completely closed and traffic redirected. Stay safe out there!

Shumway Neighborhood Police

Anyone know what’s going on? Drone overhead, multiple dogs, and an armed officer told us to get inside.

Barbacoa? Tamales? In search of homestyle Mexican food :)

Hi all. I have recently moved here from Texas, and am missing my Sunday morning barbacoa and Big Red. As the holidays approach, I would love to feel comforted by some of my fav Mexican dishes without all the prep and cleanup! If y’all have any recommendations for businesses in this area or adjacent, please let me know!

Where are the homeless camps?

Trying to locate some of the homeless camps, preferably ones that are moderately easy to get to, to bring winter supplies and food. Any help and info is greatly appreciated!

Unique restaurants in Vancouver

Looking for a unique, interesting vibe for dinner with my wife tonight. Not worried about the food quality but more about the experience. We are open to any types of food! Willing to go to Portland as well! Any recommendations are appreciated

Apparently the "Save our Streets" thing is international

I was surprised to see this exact kind of thing in a video from Montreal where nimby boomers are saying pretty much exactly what the locals are... and it would seem that everyone survived it when it went thru anyway. So as an interesting take on the post-streets-being-made-multi-user-friendly-apocalypse I thought it would post it for my fellow redditors as while it isn't directly related to Vancouver, it does touch on our similar local issue I've seen discussed a fair bit and so would be of interest:

What Business is missing from Vancouver?

Maybe a weird thought, are there any businesses or providers you feel are lacking in our area? Maybe something that just doesn't have a lot of quality options in our area etc.

Feral cat with kittens

What to do about a cat with kittens that you can't get close to on my street. They keep crossing the street, often with the mother and a kitten or two on one side waiting, while the rest are scared to cross because of traffic. They cross back and forth. The mama cat comes to my bird feed and water at times, to hunt and drink, so I refrain from feeding the birds. I can't afford to buy traps and I don't know how to keep them from getting run over. Who would even come save them? I don't even know where they actually stay.
