Hi everyone!
I’m from UofM and I am offering tutoring session for first year math, statistics, and physics courses.
About Me:
What I Offer:
If you’re interested or have any questions, please feel free to DM me! Let’s make studying less intimidating and more enjoyable.
Looking forward to working together!
I’m currently in UofM and wanted to transfer to UofW for Psychiatric nursing, does anyone know how competitive it is? And what are the pre-psychiatric courses?
Hi there! I am a writer and I have written a bunch of sketches and was hoping to find a collaborator (or collaborators) on bringing my sketches to life. Experience with the technical side of filmmaking would be nice but rookies are welcome as well! Looking for people who know how to use a camera (having one already would be nice, but not a requirement) , have some knowledge on sound/lighting, editing, post production. For reference see “I think you should leave with Tim Robinson” on Netflix for the kind of tone I’m looking to recreate. 1-3 minutes sketches, with a very low budget in mind of course. Let me know and thanks!
It's too cold for me. Where can I study at UofW where it won't be freezing? I'm wearing a jacket and a thick sweater and I'm still frozen
Hey is anyone going to the haloween party at moon night lounge tomorrow. My friends are not coming so can i join some of you
please please please if you are waiting to get into your classroom be mindful of how much hallway space you’re taking up. some people stand in the middle of the hallway when there’s clearly room along the walls and i’ve not been able to get through due to it multiple times it’s kindof ridiculous. anyone else get annoyed by this?
also curious what people think about noise courtesy at the green tables on the fourth floor. there were plenty of open tables next to me and a group sat down at the nearest one beside me and began talking really loud and then people kept coming and joining them and they were kinda just standing too close while i was trying to do schoolwork. because it’s not a quiet zone, and i don’t think it’s fair for me to be upset over it, i just left and went somewhere quieter. but i’m wondering if other people have these issues in that area with people being just kinda inconsiderate. again it’s not a quiet zone, i don’t expect much.
idk. maybe unpopular opinion or im just feeling hateful today.
Let’s start a new post type where we share a pic of gross things on campus and others guess where it is and how long it’s been there! Can we have a flair added for this?
I’ll go first!
Where and how long??
International student here, just got accepted in UWinnipeg. I applied for a BBA course. Honestly, I don't know much about the university so I thought it I should ask here
Edit: hedidn't die. My error. Cant edit title.
I'm sharing this because I'm constantly in awe of the people here who say downtown is safe. Being shot and killed by a child, near our school, isn't safe.
The area our school is in has the hishest rate of violent crime in the city. It's increased dramatically over the last three years.
When I comment about this people downvote it. You may not like it, but that's reality. It sucks and pretending it isn't happening doesn't help. Especially when students in this group tell people considering moving to a new country to come to our school. The amount of energy, time, money and respurces required to chose a new school in a new country, and then get there, are immense.
Just because you don't get stabbed or attacked, just because your are fine, doesn't mean it's ok. We get used to our surroundings. This is NOT NORMAL for Canadian cities. You may be ok with it, but that doesn't mean it's ok, or safe compared to other Canadian cities.
Please read the comments in the linked post.

My main concern with this schedule is the timings LOL, this is the best I could do, but after hearing the news about the UoM attacks and stuff I feel weird having a really late class (sociology). Can I still drop it for another elective (suggestions please?) or do I just stick with it? (a super scaredy-cat international coming for the first time haha)
Hey guys i missed my mid term by mistake is there anything that i can do now please tell me
I am new to Winnipeg and looking into going back to school! I was looking into U of W but I have heard horror stories about transit and downtown.. has anyone had any issues with taking transit when commuting to classes?
Hi, I’m planning to change my minor to political science but I wanted to know how the political science courses are here at uofw. Are they hard? Lots of homework? Anything I should know before I make this decision?
Hey, I was looking for peeps who i can join at the haloween party on friday at the university I am new here so i dont have much friends🥲🥲
I swear to god this keeps happening to me every year yet I still don't know the solution to fix it. My device won't let me join eduoram and whenever I try to log into UW-GUEST I always get authentication failed. I've been using the same email and password since my first year but all of a sudden I can't log in now??? I can't even prep for a midterm I have in an hour. Someone's out there praying for my downfall. Is anyone else having the same problem? Or better yet, can anyone help me?
So I’m a first year student starting in winter and I’ll be taking 12 credit hours. This is spread over three separate classes, has anyone else found this difficult or is it typically manageable? The classes I’m taking are conflict resolution, archeology of North America (it’s an Anthro course), and human environmental interactions.
Thanks so much for any input.
When does spring break usually starts? And for how long is it?
Hi all, I work full time (and have a young family). I am taking courses for Human Resource Management Diploma (Part-time) and unfortunately, I have 7 courses to complete. I did not meet the deadline for graduation this year :( PACE as extended my graduation requirements. I need to complete my courses ASAP. I haven't taken ANY online courses at all. My question is how hard are they? If you have any advice or suggestions, I would truly apricate it. Thank you in advance.
This is what I have left:
Required Courses Remaining:
· DPS 15121 - Organizational Behaviour
· DPS 15246 - Training & Development
· DPS 15252 - Compensation & Benefits
· DPS 15570 - Financial Fundamentals
· DPS 51035 - Strategic Human Resource Planning
· DPS 51116 - Case Studies in Human Resource Management
Elective Courses Remaining (choose one):
· DPS 16149 - Business Fundamentals
· DPS 15228 - Essential Skills for Managers
· DPS 15486 - Managing Conflict
· DPS 51114 - Managing Organizational Change
· DPS 15187 - Project Management Fundamentals
Idk who the hell they were, but I was writing the MATH-1201 midterm and 4-5 different phones went off. I got placed in the front of the class so I didn’t see what happened but what are you guys thinking?! Turn them off, it was really annoying.
Does anyone else have any phones going off during an exam stories?
Today the UW sent out notifications of the upcoming requirement for MFA. Don't be fooled by the acronym, I'm just lazy and abbreviating. I've used it before at another school and was able to delete the app and have it text me instead. Anyone know if that will be an option? Or if there's an alternative to have a phone on you every time you log in?
And yes, I caught figure this out if I read though the info in the link but tech talk like this leaves me wanting to give up using tech and life altogether.
Anyone understand what this poop on the link it telling me to do?
I wish they made a video explaining this. We get soooo many emails to read and this is a bit complex for some of us.
And yes, I know I can go to uplink for answers. But half the time I do the staff scoff and roll their eyes. The last time I was there the guy rubbed his face and sighed, I apologized that I didn't understand it and said I could ask someone else. He said no, something was in his eye. Lol. Yeah, and was it there all the times you were rolling them, lol. Ok rant over.
If anyone knows tech support on campus who are over 30 or actually care about how they treat the humans they're paid to help, that would also be great. Or, if you're the manager of those staff - maybe you wanna know about this. I won't go there again because of this. It's kind of humiliating going somewhere whete their supposed to help you but instead they speak to you like they think you're a moron and treat you like poop.
I lack in my tech knowledge. Yup. That's why I'm here. Don't do this job if you don't wanna help people like that. Ok, sorry, I lied earlier. Rant officially over now.
As the title says, where would you guys think the best spot to nap between classes is lmao
I wanted to ask which Banks have good service and are in close proximity to the university and also if anyone can tell about a cheap and nice sim card company
For anyone looking to connect with older students, there is a mature students group on Discord. It also has categories for age groups. This allows us to keep our reddit anonymous and connect over there.
Those who completed a fee appeal, and were granted either partial or full (extremely unlikely I know) refund of tuition for dropping after the add drop period, how did you go about this? I was at work one day and completely forgot to drop one course on the last day of add drop period, I’m a server so I work till around 2am most nights, since I technically dropped it at 2am on the 17th I missed the cut off and they charged me full Tuition, and advice on what to do about this
Y’all there’s literally ONE silent zone in the library, can we PLEASE respect the sound zones and each other by yapping in the areas (legit everywhere else) designated for conversation…. Like I get some chat here and there, but hanging out socially and not studying is really disruptive to the people who have nowhere else quiet to go:/
Does anyone know if we have any house party for University of Winnipeg students?
