Thought y'all might like to know that Scheels has Defender XL for $200 right now. I bought 2.
I was at the range Friday with some friends. One had a Tevo thumb rest for a CZ S2. I put it on my gun and was blown away at how my dot was jumping back on target after follow up shots. Some of the fastest and accurate splits I've had. My thought was... is this what most people see while shooting? I usually see an extremely bouncy dot. The past 2 days I've been trying to figure out how to recreate some similar support hand wrist lock. I don't want to rely on the thumb rest vs refining my grip. I really thought I had a pretty solid grip until now. Anyone ever done something of a wrist strengthing exercise?
Hi! I have really enjoyed uspsa and would like to start taking it more competitively next year, so I am looking to build out a fancy new belt. Here are the things that I am looking for and ideally would pick up during black friday weekend, so any insight/recommendations would be great:
Outer Belt: Something super stiff and ratcheting. Have been looking between daa lynx, daa ratcheting, and dominate defense. Any other options or feedback on these?
Inner Belt: Preferable elastic for accommodating the ratchet, so leaning toward dominate defense
Holster: Big dog steel carnivore for cz shadow 2. Something else like RHT?
Hangar: Henning T1000
Mag Pouches: DAA XIP with the front one having a magnet
Anything I am missing?
Thanks!
How many of you have went back to a Boss hanger after owning the T-1000? The T-1000 is nice but it’s so adjustable that I find myself tinkering (tisim-ing) with it all the time. I know it’s hard for us to leave gear and guns alone sometimes lol. I’m very close to going back to the Boss hanger just for the ease of use and it’s “straight forward” design.
Carry Optics overall Win.
Stock G45 with a Vortex Defender ST. Ghost Hydra-P+ rig (code Callahan20) Outdoor Dynamics Ammo - Beau Berries (code CTG5)
I’ve been shooting LO for a while now and I like it but with the price of another 2011 style pistol I’m considering just jumping into open.
I’ve read a boat load on 9major vs 38SC but I want to hear from the guys who shoot both or have shot both in the past. Which one are you taking to a match without consideration of ammo cost?
9 major has been gaining traction for all its benefits but I hear 38SC is buttery when compared.
Also, does anyone who shoots 9 major run standard 9x19 to get their practice in?
Thanks in advance!
I did my first match last week. One of the surprising things is how hard it is to keep track of what you did, where you lost points etc. I can see my penalties on practiscore for each stage but I can't tell in most cases what went wrong, except for a few things I remember like putting my foot over a line.
I see I have a 3 sec penalty for one stage. For that stage we had to face uprange. After loading a making ready, I turned to my right (holster side) to face uprange. The RO said I should turn left. I thought he was just giving me a tip for when I start the stage, where it did make more sense to turn left. But seeing the penalty, I wonder if he was telling me I did something wrong? Did I actually break a rule here? I don't remember anything else I did that might have triggered a penalty. But my gun was holstered.
Good day to all fellow shooters. Maybe a broad question, but whoever shoots 9 major - do you all reload or buying manufactured ammo? I really don’t want to crawl into another rabbit’s tunnel if at all possible by spending hours and hours in front of reloading press :(
If buying, any recommendations on manufacturers?
Would it be wise to sell an acro and its mounting plate (assumably at a loss) and then buy a mounting plate and an SRO. Mounting plates are expensive for me (staccato plates).
Financially all I can do is just afford to come to matches and shoot.
Is the thick bezels and small window really a big hindrance?
People at my local matches always ask why I compete with an ACRO.
I *think* the answer is yes, but I am new to USPSA and I have a question about limited optics.
I have a Springfield Prodigy with the factory compensator hole. Is it fine to swap the barrel and use one without the hole for limited optics? Also any recommendations on the best source for a non-ported 5 inch barrel?
Thanks
I need something somewhat competitve to do and I'd love to start next spring/summer. Any tips or gear recommendations? I have a G45 MOS with a x300 and acro but the frame has a hump removal/ stipple, Tenticor Malous Sol and a Nextbelt currently.
You can download the USPSA app on Android if you use the Amazon app store. It's not in the Play store but you can side load it through the Amazon app store. You just have to have unknown installs allowed on your phone. Maybe this is common knowledge but I just found out about it a couple weeks ago. The USPSA app has a better classifier calculator and it's faster than going online to the website
Hello everyone, I’m fairly new to competing and have only done one match. I’m signing up for a local USPSA level I match in December and they’re listing the following divisions: Limited, Open, Production, Limited 10, Revolver, Single Stack, Carry Optics, PCC
If I’m planning on using a 2011 with a red dot, do I have to sign up for Open or can I get away with signing up for Carry Optics? I was hoping to compete in Limited Optics since my pistol is stock but it doesn’t seem to be listed for this match.
I think the gun can be used in Production, Limited, and Limited 10. Obviously it's not a super competitive gamer gun, but which division would be easiest?
Also, any suggestions on a cheap belt and mag pouches?
