Does anyone know if/how prof Viktor curves the grade for Analysis of Algorithm? Can anyone who’s taken his course in the past help?
Trojans, I am starting USC in the Spring and am looking to secure housing by December. Do you have any recommendations for good property managers and those to avoid? Are there any websites to find subleases? Please let me know!
No idea where this program goes from here. Riley is a disaster without Caleb. We’ll never get back to prosperity with leadership of this caliber. Unfortunately, the Oklahoma haters were indeed correct.
Heya transfers, I wonder how long did it take for your friend group or friendships to fully solidify or how long did it take to find a successful friendship? Cause I heard the transition for transfers is quite overwhelming but by a semester most transfers are ok.
I just got 65/100 on my midterms (35% weightage). I have 15/15 and 10/10 on quizzes. Given i do good on the last midterm (40). Is there any possibility for an A? Adamchiks class btw. Do you guys know if he curves and if so how much?
I know it might seem like a bit of a strange comparison, given that an MBA is much broader while the MS in Global Supply Chain Management (MS GSCM) is more specialized. But I’m curious: is the difference really that significant in terms of how employers view having “Marshall” on your resume? Do people in the industry view these programs as very distinct in terms of career flexibility and opportunities?
A bit about me: I’m 30, graduating from UCSB with a Philosophy degree (focused on ethics and public policy), and I also completed UCSB’s Technology Management Certification. I’m currently Head of Product Support at a health tech startup—something I’ve been doing since my senior year. I’m looking to potentially pivot into supply chain, specifically in the food industry. Before this, I was a general manager for four years at a popular spot in LA (if you’re into sushi, im sure you can guess where ). So, while I have management experience, I don’t have formal supply chain experience.
The MS GSCM appeals to me since it’s faster and cheaper than the MBA, and at my age, I’m looking to get back into the workforce sooner rather than later. But I want to make sure I’m not limiting myself too much in terms of career growth or perception by employers. I also want to make sure if supply chain isn't what I want to do for the rest of my life that I am not stuck with such a specialized degree.
Any insights or advice from those who know the programs would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!
would love to hear ur experiences since i wanna apply!
I'm majoring in econ & data science and am taking linear algebra next semester, and hope to continue to study its applications in the context of machine learning.
Between math225 and math235 is there a better course or one that's more applicable to machine learning between the two?
Hello there, I am looking to transfer into USC and I am wondering what the greek life scene is like and if rushing as a sophomore would be weird. Thanks for the help!
how are people finding friends group… like I would kill to have a group of girls. yes join clubs im in a few but I don’t feel like I click with anyone ugh i feel like im missing out on sm fun stuff esp this Halloween 😭
Currently deciding between computer programming, applied analytics, and artificial intelligence applications. I'm planning on working in technology-related finance roles and I think that it would be good to have some technology background. I was originally gonna go wth computer programming, but I'm pretty certain I wouldn't be coding often (if at all) so was thinking maybe something like artificial intelligence applications might be more useful.
If you know anything about these minors plz lmk!
I am applying to USC but am stuck on what major to apply to. I know I want to go into the film business and USC has the best film school and connections in the world. I just worry that a film degree isn’t super helpful once I graduate. Whereas something in business better helps me find a job and while still being applicable to my pursuits in entertainment. Is it possible to be in the film/ entertainment circles at USC without being within the School of Cinematic Arts? I’d also love to take film related classes. Or is it best to apply to the film School?
I have a pin in the ass roommate who bursts EDM all evening long. Ive tried telling him to use his headphones or keep it low time to time but that piece of turd still booms it all the way up. Does anyone has any ideas on how do I burn his speaker somehow so its shuts forever or any tips on how to double pile up on his head somehow?
PLEASE HELP ME IM FED UP OF THIS!!!
Is your standing (sophomore, junior, etc) determined by the number of units you’ve earned or the number of units earned + number of units in progress?
Do people in a class with more units get an earlier registration date than people in the same class with less units?
For those who worked at Target at Village, how did you get your job? When did you hear back from them?
I read over the description of both on their website: https://www.usc.edu/majors-minors/page/2/?search-by-keyword&program-areas%5B0%5D=engineering
But I'm still confused on the difference, is one harder or something, extra credits, or just extra learning?
Does the CS/BA major have extra classes compared to just CS?
do I need to have purchased a season pass to apply for the lottery? it says “application cannot be read” everytime I try to apply

Announcing a New Class at the Ahmanson Lab.
Come play with cutting-edge technologies and explore the impact of simulation on society!
Simulation and Society
CORE 499
Spring 2025
2 Units
Thursdays 1:00PM-2:50PM
At the Ahmanson Lab (LVL 301)
Dr. Curtis Fletcher
Some technological developments can appear near totalistic in the way they remake how we think—they permeate everything, including deeply rooted perspectives about knowledge, politics, society, and even reality. Simulation is one such set of technologies.
This course offers students the opportunity to engage with technologies of simulation—ranging from extended reality and generative AI to big data modeling—to examine the shifting nature of human values, interactions, and attitudes in the early 21st century. In doing so, the course will guide students through a comprehensive, interdisciplinary study of virtual worlds, preparing them to engage with our increasingly simulated digital spaces in critical and informed ways.
Students in the course will also take advantage of technologies available at the Ahmanson Lab, including XR technologies, generative AI tools, bot systems, and a brain-computer interface, to gain knowledge and hands-on experience while engaging with the themes of the course.
Through readings, discussions, and the thoughtful, hands-on application of relevant technologies at the Ahmanson Lab, students will examine the evolution of virtual worlds, from their origins in early mechanical simulations, stereoscopic technologies, and early film, to present-day immersive digital environments; the philosophical questions raised by VR, immersive environments, and the Simulation Hypothesis; the "end of theory" as big data models and AI replace deep theoretical understanding with predictive simulations; and the social and political implications of virtual worlds, including the ability to counterfeit people and simulate human behavior at scale.
Probably the worst advisor at USC. Doesn’t respond to emails, has a sassy attitude, is VERY unhelpful, and the type of guy who just says “just google it”
Not too picky on housing. I have a car for commute and I’ve done a bit of research and the general consensus is to not live anywhere particularly close to campus (understandably so). Are there any places that seem to be relatively cheap but nice enough to live in for 2 years?
I want to take Anatomy (HBIO301), Molecular biochemistry (BISC312), and Ochem 1 next semester. Also a language pass/no pass.
I am not super smart, but I have made it this far. Am I fucked? what type of person would be not fucked taking these classes?
Hey y’all, I’m an international grad student staying off campus and was wondering if there would be a halloween celebration on frat row tomorrow?
Or other halloween parties happening around campus?
Is it real or can I go back to sleep I’m genuinely so annoyed
HIIIIIIII so I'm applying to Thornton for 2025, and I'm just wondering what the best building is best to apply for. ( with private bathrooms) lol
hiya! does anyone have any experience with swapping majors within SCA? is it difficult? easy? kinda worried about acceptance rates 😭
for context I am currently a BCA (business of cinematic arts) major which is a joint degree program between Marshall and SCA. I would love to exchange my major for game development & interactive design, if anyone has experience with the process please do share! thanks :>) 💖
