Labs in this class are extremely unengaging, the material is easily grasped in less than one-tenth of the time allocated for them. For example, why does the thermocouple lab require three lab sessions? Why do one of the labs involve chiseling a wheel out of different material tools instead of involving actual material science and measuring material properties? This class is unengaging for all students, all students in my lab session finish in the first thirty minutes and sit around wasting time. Lectures are too slow and repetitive. The amount of learning I gained from this class is so absurdly little, and this class does not even possess value as an "easy class" due to the amount of attendance required. This class is disrespectful towards the amount of tuition paid by students. I cannot believe other sections are building rockets, submarines, and planes, while we chisel wood.
Is there a bar, preferably walkable, where rangers fans go to watch the games?
I’ve talked to a few people who play but they most are freshman so they also don’t know, I’ve also checked maize pages and couldn’t find anything.
does anyone know why there's so many people honking their car horns on north campus? it's been happening on and off for a few hours. im just confused
inspired by another post here
Go to Shapiro, third floor. Realize there’s no seats where outlets are (except for one but it’s next to a person who’s clearly sick). Look for other seats on different floors/libraries for 30 minutes.
Settle your things down, and plan to lock in for the next two hours. After forty minutes, start twiddling your thumbs and decide you need a small break
Three hours later, get back to studying. At the start, ponder where the time went and rearrange your notion so that you can still do all that you need to for the rest of the day.
Repeat this until it’s 12am and drift off into an anticlimactic sleep, as you have only finished one out of four assignments that you needed to do.
just trying to figure out what mutant mf disease I have. I caught it on Monday and I’ve been out of commission since.. feeling better only now but I have this dry cough that does not go away and I can’t study anywhere because it’s so uncontrollable and loud… literally just had a coughing spell so bad I ran out of the library.
I feel like it might be rhinovirus but I don’t even know if I can get tested for that anywhere on the weekends.
edit: yes yes I took a Covid test from the start, negative.
Offering to "page" the um faculty.... yikes
How do I study for the lab quizzes? I heard it’s pretty hard
Are there any reliable 24/7 study spots open during the weekends on or near campus?
Is it only for ross students 24/7
Hey everybody
I'm a premed student (freshman) but I have enough credits to technically be a sophmore. I wanted to plan out my courses for the next 4 years so i was wondering would i have to go to a pre health advisor for that or my CSP advisor for it. I want to major in neuroscience so would i specifially have to an advisor for that please let me know .
I desperately need to see a dentist, may need a tooth pulled or a root canal. I’ve tried to make an appointment to see a dental student, I don’t have a lot of money or insurance, but the last time I tried it never went any where. How can I get cheap dental help?
what the fuck was that. Literally is suppose to be the easiest material and somehow they managed to make the most eye-gouging experience ever it was 2-3x harder than any past exam or homework question.
Opinions on this class. Workload, grading, homework etc.
Hello everybody, I was recently accepted to U of M as a transfer student in the College of Engineering. I do plan on transferring and was wondering how easy/hard it is to get a sublease? I’m pretty aware of how fucked the housing situation here is. Also since I’m an engineering student would it be better if I got something near north campus or should I stick to central? Thanks.
Anyone here previously taken the public health exam with Dr. Youatt. I wanna know what is expected, as I heard that she describes the exam to be somewhat easier than you think it would be, but turns out to be a hell storm when you take it.
Am I wrong to think that if the bike lane is right next to a bus stop that you shouldn’t be zooming on a bike right next to a bus stopped with open doors? Was getting off the bus and someone was flying through and yelled at me cause he almost hit me
Does anyone know the cheapest way to go from msu to umich by train (or bus) and back? If possible could you guys tell me the name and cost of said transportation? Thanks.
hi friends<3 is anyone here getting the sports management masters ? or knows anyone who is ? i’m super interested but idk if i want to come from philly all the way to michigan 😀
Lost my red wallet last night, likely at the Commuter South bus stop near the Law Library. If anyone finds it, please return it to DPSS (Division of Public Safety & Security). Any help is appreciated!
Hello nurses! Curious if any nurses in the Michigan Med health system have been able to apply for and received federal student loan forgiveness. Thanks!
And I was almost hit by car. What should I do if that happens again?
Thanks!
Hi! My program at Michigan requires a practical experience like studying abroad, and after going on vacation abroad for the first time this past summer I am super interested in studying abroad in the future. However, I live off-campus in an apartment with a 12-month lease and as a financially independent student, I also have a cat that I don't want to leave for an extended period and can't afford to go abroad for super long. I am interested in doing a 5-week summer program but am curious about what studying abroad costs. I know that there are a lot of funding opportunities abroad for tuition and room and board but for those that have studied abroad how expensive was outside fun, meals, etc.?
