The right hand heard around the world
Okay so if you dislike any public figure who does immoral things, this question isn’t for you, and if you fight and are personally offended by an honor code thingx, same rules apply.
OTHERWISE, why, just why? This is a bloody violent sport, firstly are we surprised some of the best guys in the world have some anger issues? More importantly what he did was shitty but here are some off the top of my head fighters who people LOVE and have done shitty things. From what I’ve heard there was also some circumstantial and cultural differences.
Jon jones (obvious don’t even need to get into that)
Conor (obvious but let’s specifically tack on the litany of sexual assault allegations)
Mike Tyson has done horrible things both in and out of the ring
If it’s an honor in fighting thing both chandler and Charles cheat like their lives depend on it
Huge fan favorite T Ferg has from what I’ve heard practically emotionally and psychologically tormented his family.
The list goes on and on, so what’s the deal? I’ll also say Max, Wonderboy, and wittaker are a few of my all time faves due to them being so awesome out of the octagon (and obviously massively entertaining ). But like I’m here to be entertained, this guy is fucking entertaining, active, ready to fight anyone, he’s not a saint he’s a professional fighter. Thoughts?
I have spent the last 20 minutes looking for a replay of Moreno vs Albazi and I have only found 1 video that just shows the last 20 seconds. Half the time I can’t even find any posts about the fight at all which just seems crazy to me, a record breaking fight night just happened but there isn’t a person on x who has made a post about it. Can anyone help me out here?
Jon vs Stipe is probably the last fight of their careers. Aspinall is either elevated to undisputed or beats the winner of Volkov vs Gane for undisputed. If Alex wins vs Ankoliev, he gets a title shot and the winner of Almedia vs Spivac will get the title shot after or fight Blaydes.
The division is very separated from the top 5 compared to the rest. Aspinall is clearly the best with no comparison, Almedia, Volkov, Gane, Spivac and Pavlovich are the clear gatekeepers who’ll wipe out the blobs and one eachother for a rematch/trilogy at Aspinalls title shot and it’ll go on repeat until a new prospect can overcome these guys and prove to be good or they all retire.
None of the guys at heavyweight are super mainstream or known besides Aspinall in which his title run is going to be a temu stipe run where he doesn’t sell a lot headlining a card or put in co-mains of bigger fights.
Had Dana White given Aspinall to Jon and Aspinall wins, heavyweight becomes a much more viewed and popular division just because of Aspinall. If Aspinall steps in on short notice and Jon doesn’t drop out and beats him that alone for the heavyweight division does a lot.
