Hey hey all instrumentalists, vocalists, and enjoyers of live music in general- a few peeps and I are gonna be jamming at the top of the Memorial Union parking structure this coming Saturday and would love if we could get more bodies or even spectators if people wanna just chill and listen to disorganized cacophonies!
Details are down below, but also feel free to join our Discord server for more info!
Date - Saturday, December 7th, 2024
Where - Memorial Union Parking Garage (Top Floor)
Time - 4 - 6pm (or however late people wanna keep playing for)
What to bring - Yourself! If you wanna jam, you can bring your instrument and amp (if necessary), or you can DM me on Discord if you need to borrow somethin
As far as I know, we have a drummer, bassist, and guitarist - I would love if we could have a vocalist join in (plus a mic), but ALL instruments are more than welcome!!! Since this is one of the first more “official” sessions, it’s gonna be chaotic, disorganized, and probably sound awful, but it’s gonna be a good time regardless.
Feel free to stop by, whether to join us in jamming or just watch some fun shit unfold!
Hey guys I was wondering what are some good headphone recs I was thinking of getting the apple max ones but i hear mixed things about them i don’t rlly have a budget (but i don’t want anything above $600) as long as they’re have good noise cancellation and long battery life i’m good
does anyone know of someone or a place that is good for fixing cameras? i really want to keep my camera and get it fixed but dont know of any place
Hey everyone! Getting close to finals, and I'm a bit nervous about my grade. What is Hayashi's cut offs been like for a solid A for che 2a? Currently, it shows as a 90 to get a solid A, but that's cutting a bit close for my current grade.
I am currently a microbio major but I want to go into biotech in the future. I am taking che 118a right now but I can't decide if I should do 8B and be done or finish the rest of che 118 series. I still have no idea if I want to go to grad school/get my PhD. Any advice is appreciated!
I just submitted my application for Plant Biology PhD at UC Davis. The top professors I want to work with are Yann-Ru Lou, Philipp Zerbe, and Li Tian. I wrote an email to them all just now stating my interest to work with them. Is there anything else I can do to improve my memorability and chances? Please and thank you.
Is there anywhere in town that does a gift wrapping service? I bought a gift for a friend and want to get it wrapped but I don't want to buy a whole roll of wrapping paper and tape and all that. Thanks!
Our friend's service animal is missing.
His photo is my avatar. I cannot figure out how to post his picture any other way.
This is a stretch, we are posting every where we can think of.
Our friend is broken, he is a disabled veteran and this dog is his entire world. We don't know what happened but he got out of his apartment on East Roseville Parkway on Friday 11/29. Dog's name is Leo and he is very very friendly and we think he may be with someone that is being kind and sheltering a found dog.
Leo is chipped and the contact info is up to date.
Leo is about 55lbs, he's a light tan color pitbull with some dark color on his face. I'm going to try and add a picture, but I'm older and not great at this.
I personally will give whomever returns Leo $500. NO QUESTIONS ASKED, we just need him home with his very sad owner.
I'm happy to answer any questions. Our friend put up flyers and some kids called him and told him they had his dog but they were just playing a cruel joke. :( No one deserves that level of cruelty.
If you know anyone around East Roseville Pkwy, in Roseville, could you please ask them to keep an eye out?
Thank you for any kindness you are able to extend.
This isn't a scam/spam. I am posting on all the colleges' reddit pages in our area because the situation is so desperate.
We have posted on all social media including Pawboost, tik tok, Facebook. Our friend doesn't have social media, and we are older and not good at this. We are desperate. Thank you for your time.
Hi!
Does anyone have advice on how to study for the bis 2b final for Laci? anyone who has previously taken it, OR anyone at all?
Since the quarters nearly over and I haven't printed anything I figured I'd print some pictures to put up on my walls. I heard you can print up to a certain amount of papers for free at the library but I don't remember the exact number??
On a similar note can someone who's printed stuff before tell me if others can see what you're printing?? I'm mostly planning to print pictures and I feel itd be kinda awkward if someone saw what I was printing...
I’m looking for a ride to tahoe this season and I heard that the snowclub offers ride-share. Do you have to be a member for this, and how do you get in touch? Does anyone know?
any updates on the date winter quarter refunds come through? am cutting it close on rent…
Davis has a wonderful vibe going on downtown and they thrive from you visiting. Many of these places are local folks who want you to visit and explore. Grab a coffee and just wander!
I have a few recs if you're holiday shopping, but there's SO MANY other shops worth visiting:
- Farmers market: Tons of stuff, also the Farmer Market merch makes a great gift as well
- The Growing Groves: Super cool indoor plants
- Avid Reader: Books, mugs, tons of fun little unique gifts
- Avid Reader & Co: Toys, kids gifts, gifts for adults who act like kids
- Candy House: Unique truffles (especially boozy ones)
- Newsbeat: Eclectic mix of stocking stuffers, books, cards, calendars
- Davis Co-op: Plants, flowers, unique Davis gifts
- Armadillo: Music, CDs/LPs, really great spot
- Artery: Collective of local artists, many larger gifts but also some smaller things!
- Local coffee shops: So many great coffee shops in Davis that have bags of coffee to gift (Mishkas, Pachamama, Temple, Cloud Forest, Philz, etc)
Edit: Akiba HW for Anime Figures and Model Kits
Edit 2: Davis Creamery (ice cream), Lazi Cow (tea) and The Upper Crust (bakery) gift cards or otherwise!
Edit 3: Mabel's market for artisan cheeses/meats/crackers/candies
Edit 4: Pence Gallery has a holiday market 11:30am to 5pm
Hey all,
I have the opportunity to graduate this winter. However, I also have the opportunity to get a minor in environmental policy, which was my old major.
I'm making a pros and cons list right now. I have some opportunities I can take in spring if I don't need to take classes, which would only be the case if I wanted the minor in EPAP.
If you have a minor in EPAP, or know about the benefits of that minor for different careers, i would appreciate some feedback. I'm planning to become a firefighter, and It doesn't seem to hurt or help me if I get it.
Thanks
If I want to apply for PhD programs in different fields, like Physics and Mathematics, at UC Davis, would I need to submit two separate applications?
Additionally, the application asks about faculty members I'd like to work with — how can I identify which faculty members align with my research interests?
I currently can’t register for more than 19 units even though my past time 2 past and it’s open registration. Do I need to contact someone? I’m currently waitlisted for 2 classes so I only have 9 units.
So I did some research studies on SONA website but they still show up as “pending” I just did another study and the credit immediately reflected as earned. Is this normal?
If there’s no such place, what place in downtown davis should I go to buy some yarn and the crochet hook?
i saw that they have a menu up for breakfast and lunch, but i thought the thanksgiving flyer said it would only be open for dinner
Hello,

What do you guys think my chances are? Thanks.
Could I send an email to housing folks to have my dorm’s temperature/thermostat adjusted?? It gets very cold at night and the thermostat in my dorm only goes up to 70 which doesn’t make it any better. Have been burying myself in multiple blankets every night but it seems like it gets colder each night 🧍🏿♂️🧍🏿♂️
If i were to opt out of equitable access for the winter quarter , would that affect my balance for the winter quarter? For example , i have -366$ as my balance , which I understand is money they are giving me ; will the 169$ for undergrad lower my final balance or will it add onto it if I opt out?
Does or has this ever happened to anyone else? Just brought my Xbox to campus during this break we had and I keep getting this error. I have it connected to an Ethernet cable since the wireless connection doesn’t work. How do I fix this? Do I need a new cable? I have tried the options shown on screen about unplugging and restarting.
Is this something housing can fix? Or do I buy a new Ethernet cable? I used this same one at home for better connectivity and it worked perfectly fine.
The professor does not know how to lecture and I literally don't understand what's going on. Are there any good resources for PHY 9B that can help me understand everything that's happening? Finals are coming up and I don't know how to study.
Hi guys, I am a transfer student and I love playing pickleball. I’m looking to make some friends through pickleball and was wondering if there are any places in the area where I can go play. Anyone interested? Thanks:))) PS - is there a pickleball club that I could join on campus?
STEM girlie who wants to pass Chem 2A 😛
In the Graduate School Application, there is a section called Preferred Faculty Mentor(s), where you list up to 6 faculty members that you would like to work with. I only reached out to one professor. My question is do you have to reach out to the professors before you list them? Or could I list other professors whose research I align with... even though I have never contacted them.
