For all things "Rubberneck"!
We're here because this is one of the greatest guitar pedals of all time, despite only being a couple of years old.
A true, "modern classic"!
RIP DOD/DigiTech.

Hi everyone I have a problem with the DOD rubberneck. I bought it today and my signal chain is as follows: send, eq mxr, chorus juno 60, boost mxr and from there I exit and also enter the dod in input before exiting the output of the pedal and entering the return. The problem is that you can't hear the delay and if I activate the bypass with the lever everything changes.... what could this be due to?
Okay, so I bought the DOD Rubberneck, and was super excited about it (especially some of the wild things people have done in demos using the effects loop, rubbernecking, regen etc). I can get some crazy sounds out of it (not exactly musical, but kind of fun for a short while), but Im struggling to use it as a basic delay (i.e. rubberneck and regen off) which is frustrating the hell out of me. I have a half dozen other delay pedals (mostly digital, i.e. Boss DD6, Ibanez DE7, etc) that Im happy with, so its not a problem using delay pedals in general, just this one.
The only guidelines Ive been able to figure out are: a) for basic delay, stick with the top 3 dials, b) keep gain/tone real low or else it can go into ear splitting self oscilation. No idea how to use the rubbernecking and regen features - esp dial settings.
Can anyone give me some advice how to use it so I can love it as much as everyone else here seems to?
FYI - I've been using it in the effect loop of my amp (Boss Katana), fairly late in my pedal chain, and have used it by itself and with various modulation pedals (pitch shift, phaser). I have the FS3X footswitch if that helps.
Thanks in advance!
Like the title says — I used my Rubberneck last week at a gig and it was fine, rearranged the board and now I get no dry signal. With the pedal engaged I get one delayed repeat, with the pedal bypassed complete nada. The Time knob will change the delay time but the Repeat and Level knobs do nothing. The Trails toggle switch also does not change anything. All other knobs and functions work properly except for the “oscillate” function (holding down tap) because no repeats — but tap tempo and rubberneck buttons work (on the pedal and on remote foot switch) and all the small knobs for modulation, gain, tone all work as expected. Here’s what I’ve tried:
If anyone has encountered this and knows how to fix it I would be very grateful as I will be super sad if this pedal is really broken.
Hello Neckers. Got a weird noise. If I hold down the rubberneck switch (on the pedal or the FS3X remote, doesn’t matter) for more than a second or so, I get a high-pitched whistle tone - like a signal interference tone that adds also a little general noise - that stays on as long as I hold the switch down. This only happens with slower tap tempo repeats: tap at about 8th notes, hit the neck switch, no weird tone. Half notes or longer, neck switch, weird tone.
The tone will fade away slowly, then come back if you play another note and generate new repeats.
It happens with the pedal in a chain with others, or plugged straight into the pedal
Anyone else have this? It’s sort of annoying, and I didn’t notice it before. I don’t really want to send my pedal away for service…
Hi! New Rubberneck owner here. I don't have tons of experience with different delay pedals, but my last delay was a DL4 that i basically only used the "analog echo" setting on. It was modded with an extra button that when engaged was like ramping(?) the feedback up all the way so you could get those cool trippy swelling oscillation sounds that we all know and love. It's having power issues for literally the 4th time so I'm moving on even though I was very comfy with it.
I have a new Rubberneck and I got it for the regen feature, which I thought kind of did the same thing, but it doesn't quite work the same. I have it headed in the right direction i think, but my problem is that those cool trippy swelling oscillation sounds stop as soon as the regen button is released. On the modded DL4 I could get the delay swells to fade out. Is there a way I can do that on the rubberneck? Do I need the extra footswitch?
Again, I'm looking to get the delay oscillation sound that you get when you hold the regen/tap switch to fade out after the regen/tap switch is released, instead of just turning off suddenly.
Thank you!
You knows it

Not sure why it made me develop a Boston accent, just one of the many (but not overwhelmingly too many) amazing features. The thing sounds amazing! Thanks for bringing it into the world. That is all.
Holding the regen button sounds so cool but I feel like I can’t hold it more than a few seconds or my amp will explode. Would love to be able to hold it indefinitely. Some kind of limiting compressor, or an EQ to cut out the low end which seems to be the biggest part of the problem? Anyone tried this?
Just got a new rubberneck - and absolutely love it - but when I move the tone knob, it almost always catches the gain knob and moves it along with it. Meaning that I can't control tone or gain independently. Looks like they may be misaligned or something. Anybody have an idea for a fix?
Just got a Rubberneck in today from the mail.
It powers on and works just fine as far as delay and modulation goes. But the LED beside the effect on / off switch does not turn red when I turn up the rate & depth knob.
I'm running this off a OneSpot CS7 on a 200ma output.
Anybody else have this issue? This is my second rubberneck, had one a out a year ago and it worked fine.

Anybody tried this?
Hi, I know you peeps are going to side with the rubberneck but I’m weighing up against getting a Caroline guitar co megabyte.
Rubberneck is £135 and megabyte 2nd hand is £165.
Convince me to go rubberneck!
Fwiw I already have a Caroline météore on the board so interested to see how they would pair together.
I have tried a clean octave up pedal but thats about it. I love the pedal itself but I’m curious what everyones favorite sound they’ve gotten by putting pedals in the fx loop is?
Or; what other analog delay pedals do you think are contenders for the Rubberneck's crown?
Has anyone had any issues with low intermittent crackle. Mine seems to crackle every so often, maybe once every 20-30 minutes. Sounds like slight static, not particularly loud. Almost like when a jack wiggles.
Before I go digging another amp out of storage,
Has anyone tried using the effects loop on the rubber neck to go out to a different amp? So the delay would be coming out of the second amp? I know there's easier ways to run a wet/dry set up, but Will it work without having a return signal or will there be no sound. Probably gonna try it later this week. Also hoping this would cut back on the self oscillation. I don't expect it to work but I'm off work this week and want an excuse to run amps in different corners of a room for a weird 3d sound.
It's like a crackle or a sizzle. Mine pretty much always does. It seems to do it if my volume is even moderately loud. I have my gain set at zero. I've tried chorus pedals, reverb, and now the EQD Arpanoid.
Did I get a messed up one?
