Welcome, we love to hear your Linux installation success stories!
This is a subreddit for rating the compatibility between any piece of hardware and GNU/Linux for the benefit of other members looking to purchase similar hardware.
Any piece of hardware may be listed. We suggest the following format:
Hardware : Software : Rating
For example, to list the Macbook Air with Ubuntu 10.10 it would be listed as:
Macbook Air (MC968LL/A) : Ubuntu 10.10 : Great
Try to keep the hardware in the title specific (like how we added the MC968LL/A). As for the rating on the compatibility itself you can leave those details in the description box.
Any time you update a piece of hardware to Linux remember to update us too!

I install Debain [stretch] [mate] [yep], works like a charm.
Issues I had
-1 The temperature sensors didn't want to work properly -or at all I should say. But after a quick google search, all was good.
-2 When first installed wifi doesn't work but you can easily fix it without having to buy a usb to ethernet adapter. I think I just googled it on another machine then transfered the file over & installed like a boss.
-3 Realizing that I am more of a hipster than normal macbook users being that I am using a macbook but am too good to use macos.
& that's pretty it dudes. Have fun.
Works well with Ubuntu 10.10. If it's your first time installing be aware that to partition the drive Macs requires you to format the hard drive (that's more of a Mac issue). Otherwise the hardware seems to work well with the latest Ubuntu.
Seems to require a kernel somewhere newer than 2.6.30 for functional WiFi and Ethernet. Built-in SD card reader doesn't work, but I have read of a work-around. Out of the box, Knoppix 6.7 works very well booting from USB drive; stable and very fast. Speed drops when installed to HDD. Boot time especially suffers, going from a minute or two on SD card to nearly ten min from HDD. Haven't tried the built-in camera, but few of the special function keys work with a default install.
Xubuntu/Lubuntu both work from SD card, with all the limitations of Knoppix, Xubuntu tends to lock up at times. Installed to HDD, both slow considerably, especially on boot, which takes tens of minutes. Xubuntu locks up solid with little more than the screensaver. Xubuntu seems to cause the machine to heat up pretty badly, too.
RIP linux is quick on SD, though a little unstable. Did not install to HDD.
Debian live 6.2 does not allow system login.
Fedora 14 is very unstable, seldom lasting more than ten minutes before crashing, but everything seems to work.
Crunchbang (latest release) boots to a black screen, both versions.
UNR doesn't recognize either the WiFi or Ethernet hardware.
Ubuntu NBR works pretty great - haven't tried Wifi in monitor mode yet though.
May come preinstalled with SUSE or Windows XP
If there is a solution it probably requires a lot of tweaking and there's no guarantee it'll work.. Either way, keep an eye out.
Comes with Ubuntu Pre-installed
