So with the content filtering when I try to block a word it blocks anything that contains those letters, even if its unrelated. (For example if i were to try to block "end" it would also block send, and friend, etc.) But when I try to add a space before the word, it doesnt work. So are letters the only characters in the filtering system or is there certain formating to it other than a space like an underscore _wordiwanttoblock or somthing?

I started my Tumblr account maybe a month ago, so I'm still new (ish) but I'm unable to message anyone, even mutuals. I also can't reply to posts (again, even mutuals). I can do Asks just fine, but I'm told they can't reply back.

On my web browser (mainly Chrome, but I've tried Firefox and Edge too) it's like the message button doesn't work; it doesn't propagate anything. On my phone app, the messenger window pops up, but when I press send nothing happens.

Is it something in my settings causing this? Has anyone had something similar happen? I put in a support ticket, but so far I've gotten no love.

So I got curious about my blog. It was initially made as a sort of log, but I never ended up doing that. Instead, it just kind of sat dormant for a while until I started using it to simply follow artists I liked. Now, however, I've begun posting. Because of this, I can't really just look at posts to find out how old my blog is. I've heard of the postlimit site, but entering my blog name doesn't seem to work with it.

this might be a stupid question, but I got Tumblr a few months ago, and I’ve just been reblogging stuff I like. But It’s hard to find specific posts I want to look back on.

I noticed some people, when you click search on their profile 🔎, have specific posts tags show up, and when you click you can see the reblogs on that tag. How do you do that?

Did they do a sweep of dead accounts? I’ve had my account since 2011 so it’s very likely a lot of my followers are from back then. That’s the only answer I can think of for such a mass follower reduction

I don’t want to block this person. I just want to make certain posts invisible to them. Other platforms like Facebook have this capability. Wondering if there’s an Xkit extension or something that would let me do this?

Mobile tumblr doesn't require you to enter a password to delete your account. It autofilled my email and a finger slip and it was all gone. Technically it is my fault, but damn I didn't mean to do it. I feel gutted.

I'm not hopeful, but has anyone ever managed to have a tumblr recovered after something like this? It was my personal journal and I wrote so much during the passing of a friend this spring and that's what I want back most of all :(

I've been doing extensive backreading of my Tumblr dashboard for months, and one of my biggest issues when doing so is how long it takes to get to where I left off. Page-by-page view is no help, as refreshing the tab or closing the browser and reopening it makes the "Previous" button disappear until I start from the very beginning again (and since page-by-page uses post ID to track its place instead of a page number, editing the URL to go to other pages isn't an option). And I have to turn my computer off every day (it's in my room and it's a lot harder to sleep with the noise and light my computer lets off when it's on), so just leaving it on to "save my spot" isn't an option either.

This is a cause of a fair bit of stress for me, so I thought I'd ask if there was something that would let me jump to a specific post on my dashboard (or something to make page-by-page viable) so I could jump straight to where I left off each day, avoiding distractions and hopefully allowing me to make more progress on my backlog.

I’ve noticed recently I can’t respond to asks I get, I even updated the app just a moment ago and it still won’t let me, like the option just isn’t there, it only has the option to delete the ask I don’t understand

hey! i've been using tumblr for a while now and have a post that needs to be updated every once in a while, i use a lot of external links on this posts linking them to words.

i've been having this problem for quite some time now, when i go to edit the post and add my link a message comes saying my url is broken, i've tried everything. today i tested it doing a new post and the same url worked, but when editing it doesn't. also tried to edit it on safari and ir worked! it just refuses to work on the app

someone knows how to fix it?

Before you give me the answer of "they blocked you or they deactivated or it's old fanmail from back when tumblr had it", no, it's not those cases. The asks show up perfectly fine on mobile and I can answer them, and I can even go to the blogs in the asks, so its not a case of being blocked or deactivated, and my tumblr was made after the fanmail purge (RIP) so it's not unseen fanmail; when I click on desktop's ask function it says I have the asks, but won't show them/acts like my inbox is empty while showing the number of asks on the side. I'm perfectly able to answer on my phone, but it's annoying me that this issue with the desktop inbox has been going on for almost twelve months now. I'd like to just answer asks on my computer while I'm browsing instead of doing it via the app which bugs out half the time for once.

Sorry for any snarkiness in my opening, I really need to preface that it's not the usual answer of being blocked/deactivated/fanmail from before fanmail was nixxed.

Howdy! I apologize if this doesn't fit the sub, but I'm looking for help.

I've been getting this add repeatedly, both on mobile and on desktop (where the screenshot was taken). The add seems drastically oversized, to the point i can't actually make out any of what the contents are, and it'll go on for multiple posts worth of space, even completely blocking the tumblr background if it appears in the left column. I've reported the add as broken every time I've gotten it, but don't know how else to get rid of the damned thing.

Any advice or help with this? or at least knowledge on why this is happening?

So I run the most whimsical of wizard groups(go check it out) and one of the members is a gaza beggar, they of course posted one of their gofundme links asking for pity money. I want anybody suffering through a war to be happy and free from whatever situation they’re in, but I cannot take them seriously when they type like a death stranding character with so many emojis. Not to mention this is a wizardposting group, and since it didn’t have anything to do with wizards I moderated it as off topic with the reason why it was taken down. Was I wrong to do that? i know the blog name, email address and password - but the email account hasn’t existed in years and ever since the forced password reset i’ve been locked out.

i tried putting in the support ticket and they replied with ‘too bad’ with no further explanation, pretty much.

“The security of Tumblr users is a top priority to us, and upon further consideration, we cannot give out the login info for this account, send password reset links to an email address other than the one on file, change the registered email address for the account, or delete the account for you.

As much as we sympathize, we have to honor the existing email address.”

i can tell them the url, email address, password, when the account was last accessed, when the account was made, several past url’s, some alternative blogs attached to the account, some blocked accounts.

i also have a post from several years ago on the account, linking an amazon account that states my current email address (the one i would be emailing them from).

i don’t have any photos or anything i can use to identify myself but i feel like that is a lot? and they haven’t even given me a chance. there’s a lot of sensitive personal information publicly available on the account and im desperate to access it, especially because they declined even deleting the account. i have no rights to any of it.
